He even paused on purpose.

Nagato felt slightly embarrassed as he cleared his throat. Even the dog seemed to judge him now.
"What are you coughing for? Keep going!" Yahiko couldn't hold back any longer and urged Nagato to continue.

As soon as those words left Nagato's mouth, everyone wore a different expression.
Natsuki felt uneasy—what if Kawaki's action triggered a war?

It wasn't just a slap in the face for Mist Village—it was like stomping all over them.
Even the most patient person would have trouble swallowing this.

Minato struggled for the appropriate word to describe the shock he felt.

Konan, being younger, didn't grasp all the consequences but cheered for Kawaki anyway.
She couldn't help but feel proud of having such a powerful teacher.

Natsuki didn't speak up. She noticed that Nagato hadn't finished yet; clearly, there was more to come.
"It was Kiri who begged our teacher to act."
"They even paid compensation for his appearance."
"There shouldn't be any issues between the two villages."
What Nagato said simply didn't add up.
Was Kiri completely crazy?
Paying someone to kill their own leader?
"What do they gain from this?"
Unable to contain herself any longer, Natsuki blurted out. That defied all logic.

If anyone tried that with Tsunade, Kawaki would've turned them to dust by now.
"The Mizukage had been controlled."
"When I saw her, she'd already transformed into the completed form of the Tailed Beast."

Nagato spread his arms wide to show its size—the biggest turtle he'd ever seen.
"And then?"
Minato's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he asked for the rest.
Minato wished he'd been there himself—it was such a shame he missed it.
"Then our teacher summoned a Wood Human even larger than the turtle and smashed the Three-Tails to death."
"Like squashing a helpless chick."
Nagato felt that one sentence wasn't enough to capture the scale, so he added more.
"That's gotta be exaggerated."
Minato opened his mouth wide in shock—he had seen many Tailed Beasts before.
He could already picture just how huge that Wood Human must've been.
"Kiri promised our teacher two hundred million."
"I also got a bag of tea from Kiri."
Seeing Natsuki looked skeptical, Nagato pulled out the tea Kawaki tossed him.
"This is… completely unbelievable."
"So who exactly controlled the Mizukage?"
Natsuki accepted the tea from Nagato's hands. Everything still shattered her understanding of reality.
It's unthinkable that a Kage-level ninja would end up as someone else's puppet.
Then again, this does make Kiri's absurd policies seem less baffling.
"I don't know."
"The teacher said he doesn't understand either."
Kawaki didn't tell Nagato the complete truth, for fear of burdening him — after all, those eyes once belonged to Madara.
"I see."
"Anyway, the most important thing is that you returned safely."
Natsuki set the tea leaves aside and steadied herself emotionally.
Even if something serious had happened, there was nothing she could do about it.
If the heavens fall, there are still three high-ranking family members to handle it.
"Did the teacher use Wood Release to beat San?"
Yahiko had just returned and only now learned that Kawaki had awakened the Wood Release.
"Yeah, it's your teacher's wife's grandfather's Kekkei Genkai."
"It once shook the entire Ninja World."
Misaki gave Yahiko a definite answer.
She couldn't possibly forget the night the Thousand Hands Manipulation Force: Thrust shocked all of Konoha.
"So does that mean our teacher is now invincible in the ninja world?"
Konan asked curiously. If their teacher really was the strongest in the world, she wouldn't mind at all.

Misaki found Konan's innocence amusing.
She thought Kawaki's current strength indeed deserved the word 'invincible.'
They continued chatting casually, and time flew quickly.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Kawaki and Tsunade finally finished today's paperwork.

Kawaki stood up and stretched widely.
This was the most exhausting day since his rebirth — and completely miserable.
"Already worn out after just one day?"
"You should think about how to compensate me."
Tsunade couldn't help laughing at Kawaki's expression.

Kawaki grinned, mischief glinting in his eyes.

Tsunade took Kawaki's hand first.
"Let's go!"
Kawaki snapped his fingers, and the two appeared in the Hatake family dining room.
Perfect timing.
The servants had just started serving dishes, and nobody had sat down at the table yet.
"Brother-in-law."
Nawaki had also been called over by Minato and the others.
Misaki and Kushina beside him greeted the pair as well.
"Yeah, I heard you got beaten up."
Of course, Kawaki brought up the sore subject no one wanted to talk about.
"Who said that? I was just fighting for my rightful rights!"

Sakumo didn't want to ruin the mood either and lightly scolded him with a smile.

Kakashi learned nothing good, but picked up curse words fast.
"Try not to curse in front of the kid."
Natsuki gave Sakumo a pat, then turned to correct Kakashi.
"It's my—my fault," she said.
Sakumo looked apologetic. It was all because of his younger brother.
"That's a bad word! Don't you repeat it, understand?"
She whispered gently to Kakashi.
"But Dad says it too," Kakashi replied, puzzled as to why he wasn't allowed to repeat something his father could say.
Is Mama playing favorites?
"Sakumo was talking to your uncle; who are *you* talking to?"
Sakumo chimed in, only to earn a glare from Natsuki.
"I'm talking about you," Kakashi blinked innocently with his big eyes at Sakumo.
"Hahaha, serves you right."
"Truly my good nephew," Kawaki laughed heartily. The child was still young—easily corrected, so nothing to worry about.
"Oh, you little brat..."
Sakumo became furious and raised his hand, ready to spank Kakashi's backside.
"That's enough! Out of the two brothers, at least one behaves decently. If it weren't for Kakashi, you'd be worse."
Natsuki kept her stance fair, while Tsunade nodded behind her in agreement.
She fully backed her sister-in-law's position.
The younger ones kept their heads down, hiding their smiles. It had been a while since they'd seen such a "heartwarming" scene.
"Eat, eat," grumbled Sakumo, finally giving in and taking the first bite of dinner.
