Chapter 220 - Chapter 220: The Grand Wedding Ceremony

"Hurry up! Are we going for a walk or getting married?"

Kawaki wore a black ceremonial kimono and haori, riding a powerful black stallion.

Although he wasn't fond of traditional clothing, he could tolerate adapting to local customs.

There hadn't been a horse at all originally, but since Kawaki insisted on riding one, it brought him one step closer to his dream wedding.

"Woof~"

The black stallion beneath Kawaki let out a low whimper, its behavior unmistakably dog-like.

In this world where ninjas ran faster than horses, Kawaki simply couldn't find a suitable stallion.

Thanks to his sharp wit, the Ghost Mastiff somehow ended up as his mount.

Natsuki cast the Transformation Jutsu to conceal its true form, murmuring soothingly, "He's getting married today—don't hold it against him."

The unfortunate Ghost Mastiff had no choice but to hang its head in resignation.

"Delay my lucky hour, and I'll have your hide."

Kawaki gently patted the stallion's head, which scared it into speeding up at once.

As Ghost Mastiff quickened its pace, the wedding procession behind Kawaki quickened its pace as well.

Crowds lining the streets shouted blessings toward them.

Partly due to Kawaki's popularity, and partly because the Hatake family spared no expense,

Candies and sweets rained down all around, making the elderly and children alike scramble joyfully for them, hoping to catch a bit of the couple's good fortune.

As they approached the Senju mansion, Kawaki's smile grew wider.

He'd waited a long time for this day too.

[Honestly, I'm not too familiar with traditional Japanese wedding customs, so I've kept things simple.]

Kawaki dismounted at the gates of the Senju mansion, straightened his robes, and stepped inside first.

"The lucky hour is here."

At that call, firecrackers popped nonstop.

Kawaki received countless blessings along the way and returned each one with a polite nod or smile.

Passing through the courtyard, Kawaki headed straight toward Tsunade's room, knowing the layout like the back of his hand.

Minato and several other disciples following closely behind wore eager smiles on their faces.

"Big sister, the groom has arrived."

Inside Tsunade's room, Nawaki reported the latest news.

"Heard it already. Did you really think I needed a reminder?"

When the firecrackers sounded, Tsunade instantly knew Kawaki had arrived.

She adjusted her seated posture again, tucking away loose strands of hair.

"Grandma, do I look okay?"

Seeing Tsunade acting unusually demure, Mito felt a slight smile tug at her lips.

"Perfect. Today, my granddaughter is the most radiant bride there ever was."

Watching Tsunade marrying for love brought back memories of that hopeless romantic, Hashirama.

Back then, their marriage contained some political elements, but primarily revolved around love.

Even Madara could do nothing but watch from the sidelines as Hashirama was taken away from him.

"That's good then."

After speaking, Tsunade fell silent, her gaze locked onto the closed shoji door.

Soon after, a flurry of hurried steps sounded outside.

"Tsunade, I've come to claim you today."

"Now can I come in?"

Clearing his throat, Kawaki knocked and politely asked, "May I come in now?"

Instantly, everyone inside focused their attention on Tsunade.

"Please, come in."

Slightly embarrassed, Tsunade directly permitted Kawaki's entrance.

"You look breathtaking today."

When Kawaki saw Tsunade, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

Without hesitation, he gave her a straightforward compliment.

No matter how much you criticize, flattery never fails.

"Brother-in-law, if that's what you're saying, then was my sister not beautiful before?"

Before Tsunade could speak, Nawaki cheerfully set a trap for Kawaki.

He still remembered the question Tsunade had thrown at him last time. If it hadn't been for Misaki's intervention, he wouldn't have known how to respond.

"What do you know about it?"

"Go stand over there."

Tsunade snapped at Nawaki. Clearly showing double standards.

"You look very handsome today,"

Ignoring Nawaki's hurt expression, Tsunade smiled sweetly at Kawaki.

Enough already, show a little self-respect, you two.

"Hurry up and go out; the guests are already waiting impatiently."

Seeing the two of them getting ready to compliment each other again, Mito urged them to head outside.

"All right, Grandma."

Kawaki's words were cut short by Mito, so he simply stepped forward and extended his hand toward Tsunade.

Tsunade gently placed her slender ivory hand in Kawaki's palm and slowly rose to her feet.

Outside, the guests had already taken their seats, and Kawaki took Tsunade's hand, leading her into the hall where everyone's eyes turned toward them.

"They really make a perfect match."

"A heavenly pairing."

"A truly ideal couple."

...

The guests couldn't help but admire them. Handsome and beautiful, they were a sight to behold wherever they went.

Moreover, both held important positions in Konoha.

As the highest-ranking elder representing both families, Mito had already taken a seat in the prepared space inside the hall.

In front of her were two kneeling cushions.

Time for the newlyweds to bow to elders.

Nemu Koharu was serving as the officiant for the ceremony, standing not far from Mito.

Come to think of it, Mito was practically her senior female mentor, since they had briefly studied under Hashirama before.

Kawaki and Tsunade walked through the crowd and slowly approached Mito.

"Grandma."

They both called out "Grandma" and knelt on the cushions.

"Serve tea."

At Nemu Koharu's signal, one of the servants brought in the tea.

Mito happily tasted the tea from both cups and then pulled out a stack of land deeds from behind her back.

"Tsunade, Grandma doesn't have much else to offer."

"This is just a bit of property."

"You've wanted these for a long time, so today I'm giving them to you."

Mito handed the land deeds over to Tsunade. This was a significant amount of wealth—Mito was undoubtedly one of the richest people in Konoha.

"Grandma, there's no need. Just leave it for Nawaki."

Kawaki was genuinely worried Tsunade might lose it in a gamble—it would be better left to Nawaki instead.

Oh...

Tsunade glared at Kawaki. She must've married an idiot who didn't even know how to appreciate money.

"What belongs to your family is yours, but Tsunade deserves proper dowry after marrying into your home."

Mito pressed the deeds into Tsunade's hands under her hopeful gaze.

"Thank you, Grandma."

Mito felt this was the warmest "Grandma" she'd ever heard from Tsunade—though maybe it was just her imagination.

"You two lovebirds, hurry up and give me a great-grandchild."

After Mito spoke, Kawaki and Tsunade reverently performed three deep bows.

Rites completed! Time to feast with our guests!

After Nemu Koharu announced this, she went to take her own seat where Hiruzen Sarutobi and Homura Mitokado were already sitting.

Kawaki and Tsunade rose and began walking toward the guests.

Behind them came servants carrying trays of sake bottles.

They went from table to table, accepting and returning every toast. Kawaki and Tsunade declined nothing.

Of course, using chakra to neutralize the alcohol had become necessary. Otherwise, with so many people offering drinks, they wouldn't just struggle to make it through the wedding night—they'd need someone to carry them home.

Before long, they reached Jiraiya's table. Kawaki and Tsunade were still both quite sober.

"Congratulations."

Jiraiya had a thousand things he wanted to say, but in the end, raised his cup and said only three words. At this moment, he truly let go.

"I heard from Nawaki you're next too," Tsunade said with a bright and cheerful laugh, clinking her cup against Jiraiya's.

Makoto clinked glasses with Kawaki, then stole a glance at Tsunade. He now understood why Jiraiya liked this woman.

You could only say that Kawaki had won the jackpot.

Then Kawaki and Tsunade toasted Orochimaru and his companion before moving on to the next table.

After finishing all the toasts, the two quickly found a quiet corner to use chakra and sober up.

One more sip and they'd have to be carried out.

As time passed, the banquet finally ended.

Amidst the bustling crowd, Kawaki personally escorted Tsunade into the bridal palanquin.

He turned and mounted Ghost Mastiff once more.

Thankfully, someone had fed it; otherwise, Ghost Mastiff's temper would have been worse.

To the sound of firecrackers, the bride's procession began heading toward the Hatake family estate.

Mito stood at the door, watching the palanquin vanish into the distance, a quiet sadness settling in her heart.

The joy continued onward, stretching all the way to the Hatake household.

Today, the Hatake estate was decorated beautifully with lanterns and streamers. Natsuki and Sakumo waited eagerly.

An elder brother was like a father—today especially, Sakumo felt proud and triumphant.

The bridal palanquin came to a stop in front of the Hatake estate gates.

Kawaki dismounted and helped Tsunade step down from the palanquin.

"Let's go."

For Tsunade, the Hatake mansion entrance stirred unusual emotions today.

Though she was intimately familiar with every plant and tree within, from this day forward, it would truly be her home—a completely different feeling altogether.

Snapped back to reality by Kawaki's gentle tug, Tsunade nodded.

"Okay."

She replied softly, walking side-by-side with Kawaki toward the Hatake residence.

Following instructions from the officiant by the door, the couple mechanically completed the exhausting ceremony like puppets.

By then, Sakumo and Natsuki already sat waiting in the main hall, anticipating the couple's arrival for the formal bowing ritual.

"Try to tone down that smug look of yours a bit."

Natsuki glanced at Sakumo—the pride on his face was too obvious.

"Is it really that noticeable?"

Sakumo thought he'd kept it well hidden, but his wife's keen eyes saw straight through him.

"Hmph~"

Hearing him say that, Natsuki couldn't even be bothered to respond. She scoffed coldly and turned her head away.

Not long after, Kawaki and Tsunade entered the hall.

"Big bro, Sister-in-law."

The pair greeted Sakumo and Natsuki.

On both sides gathered curious spectators. Dai stretched his neck the farthest—he was clearly loving this.

All these friends knew something fun was about to happen.

Kurenai and Kakashi found themselves embraced tightly—one on each side—by Shinryu's wife.

"Well? What are you two waiting for?"

"Get down on your knees!"

Seeing Kawaki about to speak, Sakumo couldn't hold back any longer and barked out the order.

Kawaki immediately licked his lips. Big bro is kinda bossy today!

Kneeling was proper etiquette—but Sakumo's command carried a hint of personal vendetta.

"Time to kneel down."

Tsunade's eyes twinkled mischievously. She knew Sakumo wasn't aiming at her.

No matter the situation, those two brothers never failed to surprise everyone.

"Fine."

Kawaki Hatake gave Sakumo a glare that screamed, "This isn't over."

But Sakumo simply smirked arrogantly, practically flipping his nose toward the sky.

Even if the Emperor of Heaven himself appeared today, Kawaki Hatake would still have to kneel.

Kawaki and Tsunade obediently knelt before the two of them.

Sakumo felt an indescribable sense of satisfaction and happily pulled out thick red envelopes from behind him.

One for each person—no favoritism.

"You're officially part of the family now."

Natsuki smiled at Tsunade and fastened around her wrist a treasured bracelet she'd saved for this day.

"Thank you, sister-in-law."

The two women got along famously, while the men locked eyes in a silent standoff.

"Oh yeah? Then hit me. What, you think you're all that?"

"If you've got the guts, wait 'til today's over."

They continued their silent battle with nothing but their eyes.

"What are those two doing? Cockfighting?"

Dai could see the sparks flying, though he didn't understand what they meant. This gossip left a bitter aftertaste.

"I'll translate for you."

Shinryu, who stood beside him, kindly offered his own interpretation.

"See how wide Sakumo opened his eyes? He looks mighty impressive."

"He's basically letting Kawaki know who the real boss is around here."

Dai listened carefully as Shinryu explained everything thoroughly, nodding his head like it all made perfect sense.

"What's Kawaki saying then?"

Shinryu immediately launched into translation again.

"Simple. Look at the fierce glare in Kawaki's eyes."

"He's basically saying he'll settle the score with Sakumo once today's done."

Shinryu was getting more and more into his role, almost narrating Tsunade and Natsuki's conversation too.

Don't worry, this chapter isn't over yet—there's still more excitement to come!

"In my opinion, there's really no need for that duel. Big Bro Sakumo has never beaten Kawaki before."

"So Kawaki's probably just gonna beat him up."

Dai sure spoke bluntly. Fortunately, Sakumo didn't hear him.

Otherwise, his bromance with Sakumo would've been seriously at risk.

"Now that you mention it, I think you're right."

The two gossips nodded at each other repeatedly. Now that's some spicy gossip.

Two words: SPICY!!

"All right, stand up now."

That must be Natsuki calling out. Sakumo secretly wished Kawaki could stay kneeling a bit longer.

Kawaki helped Tsunade rise, throwing Sakumo one last menacing glare.

Then he turned around smiling brightly, and all the guests gradually began to eat.

After Kawaki and Tsunade made the rounds pouring drinks for everyone, they returned to the main table and sat down.

By then, the main table already looked chaotic from excessive drinking.

Sakumo was genuinely happy—among everyone, he drank the most enthusiastically.

He even roared that after dinner, everyone was heading to the ancestral hall to honor the ancestors, and urged Tsunade to pop out a cute little boy soon.

Hearing his dad say that, Kakashi also clapped his little hands excitedly.

"A younger brother! A younger sister!"

With Kawaki and Tsunade in the mix, the party only got wilder, and everyone raised their glasses with renewed enthusiasm.

As night fell, the guests began leaving.

Kawaki and Tsunade warmly said goodbye to every guest at the door.

Once the last guest had gone, it was finally time for them to retire to their room.

The remaining guests were all close buddies, cracking risqué jokes as they escorted Kawaki and Tsunade to their room.

Bang!!

Once the door of the bridal chamber shut behind them, the guests finally quieted down.

Uninterested in eavesdropping, everyone returned to the dining room to continue the celebration.

Inside the room, however, both Kawaki and Tsunade were completely lost in their own world.

Want another drink?

Although they'd already been intimate countless times before, on this wedding night, Kawaki felt surprisingly awkward.

"If I drink anymore, I might pass out."

Tsunade poured Kawaki a cup of cold tea. They'd both had more than enough to drink tonight.

"This outfit's really uncomfortable."

A moment later, Tsunade took off her kimono and tossed it aside carelessly.

Now clad in just a short undershirt and tight pants, she sat across from Kawaki.

Her bare white skin glimmered softly in the lamplight.

"It really is uncomfortable," Kawaki agreed.

Kawaki took a sip of tea before shrugging off his own kimono as well.

Now the two sat facing each other wearing only minimal clothing.

After finishing their tea, Kawaki looked at Tsunade.

Even after spending so much time together, he still couldn't help getting aroused around her.

"It's getting late. Let's go to bed early."

Kawaki glanced toward the bed, freshly made up with new quilts.

"Mm."

Tsunade put down her teacup and stood up.

She hadn't taken more than a few steps forward when suddenly she was swept into Kawaki's arms.

"Now that we're married, can I plant my seed inside you tonight?" Kawaki whispered gently into her ear.

"Yes."

Tsunade extended her finger to trail along Kawaki's chin, biting her lip seductively.

"Hold on tight."

With both arms tightening, Kawaki effortlessly tossed Tsunade onto the bed.

Then with one powerful leap, he leapt after her.

"Mmm~"

As Tsunade let out a soft moan, pieces of clothing flew from the bed and landed on the floor.

Before long, the room was filled with rapid "papap" sounds.

An intense love-making session had officially begun.

Neither of them could tell if it was the second or third time they'd gone at it before the night was over.

"I gave it my all. Let's see how soon you give me a surprise."

Sweating heavily, Kawaki lay on the bed gasping for breath.

"I'm definitely fertile."

Resting her head on Kawaki's right arm, Tsunade's face was still flushed.

"And I'm more than ready."

A man's pride was on the line, and somehow Kawaki found a second wind.

He rolled over and climbed on top once more.
