Netero was old, Loki young. One was a decaying tree, the other a burgeoning sapling.
Two individuals who shouldn't be on the same level, yet the age gap didn't create a distance; they had reached the same realm.
Loki could already injure Netero; what terrifying heights would he reach in the future? No one could imagine.
But both Silva and Zeno, after his laughter subsided, shared the same thought:
'Perhaps the world will change drastically because of Loki.'
Meanwhile, the Yorknew City auction concluded. Zeno Zoldyck, gathering his team to conquer Greed Island, received a notification from the Hunter Association. He couldn't return.
"He caused a commotion in Yorknew City and now attacked the Hunter Association. What a restless fellow," Zoldyck said, glancing at Loki's photo.
"Unfortunately, I've signed a contract. By the time I finish my Greed Island mission, this arrogant kid will likely be eliminated!"
His companion expressed concern.
"Mr. Zoldyck, is it alright to ignore the Association's call? Even Chairman Netero..."
"It's fine!" Zoldyck said confidently. "That kid injuring the Chairman must have been because the Chairman let him. They have a master-disciple relationship."
Zoldyck believed Netero's injury wasn't a defeat but a deliberate act. He knew how strong Netero was—a Nen user who had trained for years.
Even without witnessing Netero's full power, the sheer difference was clear. A reckless kid, even if he'd learned Nen since birth, couldn't possibly injure Netero.
Zoldyck set down the information. "Let's focus on our mission. Don't worry about other things.
These kinds of individuals appear every few years—those with a little power who act recklessly."
Night fell. A figure appeared in the Hunter Association's hallway, entering the innermost ward.
He went to the window, removed his hat, and turned to the person in the bed.
"Old geezer, you finally got what you deserved! Injured by your own disciple. You're getting old and useless," he said.
Netero, weary, struggled to open his eyes.
"Ging"
The window reflected Ging Freecss's silhouette. Ging, hands in his pockets, smiled at Netero.
"Surprised to see me?"
Netero closed his eyes again. "I miscalculated this time."
"I can see that." Netero almost coughed up blood from his anger. "Are you here to collect my body?"
"I didn't see any signs of you dying. You're still pretty spry!" Ging laughed. "If you really die, I'll make sure everything's handled properly."
"Damn it, you want me dead!"
"Just kidding! Don't get angry, old man."
Ging's expression turned serious. "That kid... is he really that terrifying?"
Netero's eyes widened slightly. "Not really. His abilities were simply unexpected. I wasn't prepared."
Ging understood Loki's level. 'From what the old man said, he lost because of Loki's unique abilities.
In terms of raw power, the old man is probably stronger.' 'But to injure him to this extent... that ability is incredibly dangerous!'
Ging went to the window, looking down at the street. The damaged plaza showed the intensity of the battle.
There wasn't a single intact area; the craters were unlike anything seen in a major city.
Ging went downstairs, to the plaza, and looked at the Hunter Association building. The cut made by Loki hadn't been repaired, only stabilized with steel supports. He examined the cut closely.
'An instant cut! That alone surpasses 80% of the Association's Hunters.' He touched a support column.
Even a powerful Nen user couldn't easily damage it with a punch. Yet, Loki, from a distance, had cut it cleanly with a single strike.
'His Nen didn't weaken with distance. His Emission-type abilities are incredibly strong.' Ging turned, looking at the craters in the plaza.
'His ability to clash with the old man shows his Enhancement-type abilities are also strong. He can materialize weapons, transform Nen into flames, and summon Nen beasts.'
'Emission, Transformation, Enhancement, Manipulation, Conjuration—he masters all five types at a high level.' Ging lowered his head.
'This means that kid is a Specialist-type Nen user! That's even stranger.'
The Specialist-type users Ging knew all had incredibly complex activation conditions. Loki's abilities seemed like a fusion of multiple abilities.
Ging realized this was possible.
"Incredible power. If that strike had been stronger, the entire building would have been cut in half."
A group of Hunters summoned by the Hunter Association arrived. They didn't pay much attention to Ging; he wasn't popular.
"I heard that kid fought the Chairman evenly, almost killing him."
"No wonder they call him a monster. He really is a monster."
They headed inside. The Hunter Association worked quickly; in a single day, the severely damaged building was made usable again.
The meeting was held in the main building to let the summoned Hunters witness the power of their opponent.
The Association hadn't summoned all professional Hunters, only the strongest, especially those skilled in combat.
Loki wasn't someone any ordinary Nen user could handle. Around fifty Hunters were summoned; fewer would likely attend.
While the Hunters arrived, Loki returned to the secluded mountain villa Baise had purchased. He brought Hisoka and Pakunoda.
Baise was surprised to see Hisoka. Ignoring her surprise, Loki sat in the villa's hall.
"How's Chrollo Lucilfer?"
"He's cooperating. He's in a sealed room with one request: to know about any interesting recent events."
"Fine. Tell him anything he wants. It doesn't matter."
"Oh, and..."
