Chapter 2 - chapter 2: A New Life

"Ouch!"

"That hurts a lot. I'm never trying rituals again," Hong Zhou groaned.

That's strange. I can feel my legs for some reason, and I think I can walk too.

The throbbing pain Hong Zhou felt in his head returned, and memories began flooding into his mind.

The former owner of this body was also named Hong Zhou; he was a teacher in the Luo Celestial Sect. Although he had no cultivation base, he possessed knowledge of some low-level martial arts. However, he often struggled in the sect and was considered the worst teacher a student could have.

The reason he had never cultivated was that he had been poisoned since birth. He sought treatment from various scholars but had little money, and none could cure him.

"The poison took his life yesterday at midnight, huh?" Hong Zhou quickly realized.

"Wait a minute, did I actually die, and will I also die from poison like this guy next door? Does that mean the ritual wasn't fake?" He stood up and opened the door, stepping outside. It was the first time he had ever walked in his life.

As the rising sun shone in his eyes, he squinted and moved outside. He looked around and saw a bucket full of water.

He glanced at his reflection in the bucket; his face was unchanged, but he was significantly more handsome.

"Hmmm, this isn't a dream, right?" He pinched himself to check if he would actually feel pain. "Yeah, that hurts a lot. Well, there's nothing I can do now."

He smirked. "God has given me another chance at life, a chance to pursue my dreams. I can walk, and I'm in a cultivation world where one can cultivate and become immortal. Don't hold it against me, God; I might actually surpass you."

Suddenly, a silhouette appeared three kilometres away.

"Who is that?"

As the dark figure slowly approached him, Hong Zhou felt fear for his life.

"Is that an assassin? God, forgive me! I didn't mean to say I would surpass you. Just don't let me die!"

"Hong Zhou, how are you?" the figure greeted him as he continued to walk closer.

When the silhouette became clearer, Hong Zhou saw that it was an old man who looked strangely familiar, although he couldn't remember who he was.

Just as he was about to speak, words appeared in Hong Zhou's mind:

In 0.1 seconds, Hong Zhou arrived at a gate with words written in gold above it: "Astral Archives." These two words have induced an imposing sensation the energy from the words alone carried boundless prestige and might

"Astral Archives? Is it like the Sage of Astral Archives I read about? This can't be real."

He stood, opened the gate, and entered the building, where bookshelves filled with books lined every corner.

"This is like my dream house!" As soon as he reached the centre of the building, a book flew into his hands.

Titled - Bai Feng.

This was someone's name, but he didn't know who it was. He opened the book immediately and saw a picture of the old man.

This… What is this? I can't believe it's the old man!

He turned to the next page, and the title read "Bai Feng's Life."

< Bai Feng, originates from the Fallen Bai family from Xingchen city, A teacher/elder of Luo Celestial Sect.>

< Cultivation level: 9th Level Golden core realm>

< Age: 129>

Hong Zhou flipped pages of the book as he could see a dense concentration of words written in it.

< Battle techniques: Dragon cutting slash ( master), Heaven weaving punch (rookie), Life bound breathing technique (rookie) .>

Is this real? This is absolutely ridiculous.

What's wrong with this kid? He has been lost in thought since I greeted him. Did I do something wrong?. Bai Feng thought

" Kid, snap out of it, what's making you think so much? Anyways, I was sent here by the sect leader, and she said that if you don't get students in today's selection exams, you will have to be expelled from the elder position", Bai Feng says.

"Thank you, Elder Bai Feng. Do you practice the Life-bound Breathing Technique?" He was curious.

I want to confirm if this ability is real.

Bai Feng opened his eyes and asked, "How do you know that? Did you see me practising?" He was surprised.

"No, I didn't see, but I know you will die in seven days if you don't stop practising that technique. If you want to know how I know this, it's because your breathing technique is out of balance, and I'm only trying to help you."

Bai Feng smiled. "Thank you for trying to help me. I've been feeling uncomfortable ever since I started practising it; I just wasn't sure the technique was the cause. You're truly a good scholar," he said as he left.

So everything I saw in that place was true. By the way, was that my mind? Let me try to read the books from within. Maybe I can find a cure for the poison in my body.

Hong Zhou closed his eyes again and discovered that he could appear in the astral archive in his mind just by thinking about it.

He tried to pull out the books inside the bookshelves, but they were too heavy. He attempted to focus on a book that could cure poison, but nothing happened.

He opened his eyes, disappointment heavy in his gaze.

"It looks like I might really die if I don't find a way to solve my problems," he murmured.

He entered the cave abode he had come out from and opened the window blinds, allowing the light of the rising sun to illuminate the room. The house was well organized, and in the left corner was a table covered with books.

"Hmmm, let's see what happens if I read the books here," he said.

He sat down in the chair next to the table and examined the books.

"Hmmm, Hong Zhou, you were quite diligent and tried to survive, but nature has been too cruel to you. I will live on and become immortal, I will immortalize our name in this world and reach the peak of what this world has to offer"

He began reading a book titled "How to Cure a Poisoned Body," and a new book was created in his sage archive. Hong Zhou felt compelled to close his eyes to see what the new book was about.

As he flipped through the pages, he discovered that the book contained 300 mistakes that was marked by the astral archives, and the astral archive provided him with the 300 answers.

"This can't be real; with this ability, I can uncover a person's weaknesses. I could also identify the flaws in every martial art in the world and correct them all. I could become a true god with this ability alone."

Cough, cough—ugh.

Blood. I will die at any moment if I don't

find a way to remove this poison from my body. I need to go to the library after I choose a disciple.

" Do the have libraries in the Luo celestial sect?".
