Seeing the indecisiveness on Anna's face, Aidan knew it was time to tell her the truth.
He had hidden too long behind a carefully crafted lie, and she deserved the truth.
It was high time she knew who he really was.
He took a step forward. "Anna…"
Anna scoffed and scooted backward. "What are you saying? You mean you want me to marry him?"
Aidan nodded without a word.
Her face twisted with disbelief. "Why? You think I'm telling you because I want to? No, of course not. I only mentioned it because I wanted you to know and because I wish there was something else he would ask for instead of that. I can't marry a man I don't know. Besides, I am already married…"
"I'm leaving," Aidan suddenly announced, interrupting Anna whose mouth hung open in the air.
"What?!" She exclaimed again in disbelief. Her mind was spinning.
He was leaving? To where? Why? Had she done something wrong?
"What…what do you mean you're leaving? Did I do something wrong?"
