Edgar snapped Noah out of his confusion.
However, Noah hesitates to follow Edgar, standing still for a moment and frowning as he watches him.
The woman's voice that had greeted him earlier felt unfamiliar, and he realized that no one was there except for the two of them.
"Edgar, do you hear that?"
"Hear what, sir?"
Edgar abruptly halted his step and turned to see Noah.
"A woman welcoming me. Did you hear her voice?"
Rather than directly answering Noah, Edgar kindly urged him to follow.
"Sir, this way..."
Noah sighed silently as he trailed behind Edgar down the hallway, crossing through the living room.
When they finally reached the end of the hallway, Noah saw Edgar step closer to a retina scan before opening the door. But he did not go inside.
He turned to him. "Sir, after you..."
As Noah looked inside, he was surprised by how the room was. It was dimly lit with a soft yellow light, and the walls were bright white, standing out against the limitless light.
