Hearing that futile feedbacks again, Selina's shoulders sagged, and her gaze dropped as if being weighed by a rock.

"How long am I going to wait?" she mumbled, listening as the vintage wall clock ticked, mirroring the slow passage of time.

She couldn't wait for the slow wheels of the system anymore; she needed to move.

"What if Ivy is truly behind this? We should confront her and get the truth," Annabelle suggested, her burning gaze sweeping across the room for support.

"Confrontation without solid evidence would only make things worse. We can't act impulsively," Damien interjected, quenching her fire.

"But if this pervert keeps escaping just as we're about to catch him, doesn't it mean someone is leaking information? Could it be someone close to us?" Annabelle blurted, struggling to make sense of the lack of progress.

Noah's sharp gaze shifted to her. "No one among us would do that. It was only Damien, Eloise, me, and you."
