That taunt stung more than Selina would ever admit. Her grip on the bouquet tightened, fighting the urge to squeeze the life out of it.
All she could do to keep from getting hurt further—and to avoid drawing more attention, which Leah's sharp, high voice was already doing—was to remain nonchalant.
She'd let the woman rant, just as she always did.
The one she owed an explanation to was Clarissa.
"Just like you're staying quiet now, I hope you'll do the same the moment Clarissa takes over INA Couture."
Selina turned her head to Leah, catching the smirk on her lips. An unwelcome chill shot through her.
"That's my mother's company. Father had been running it for years. I don't mind my sister being part of it, but not the other way around," she said, brows narrowing at her.
