Chapter 9 - turmoil I

Chapter 9: turmoil 1

In most fictional worlds, stories usually begin with the death of the main character; either due to betrayal by those closest to them, or because of a crushing defeat at the hands of their arch-nemesis. Sometimes, the tale starts by describing the world's transformation from a state of peace and stability to one of chaos and ruin.

But what happened in my world wasn't just a beginning… it was the true prelude to a catastrophe that would change everything. A catastrophe paving the way for terrifying events that would, without a doubt, be more bloody than anything the mind could conceive.

After I finished reviewing my new skills, a horrifying event occurred… or should I say: horrifying for some. As for me, I had been waiting for it with bated breath.

Something strange began happening to the Gates scattered around the world. In every corner of the planet, the Gates began vibrating with unprecedented violence, as if they were timed bombs crammed inside fragile vessels, swelling and swelling, while something inside tried to tear its way out by force.

There were no exceptions. All the Gates, from the smallest to the largest, were shaking with the same terrifying rhythm. It was as if they were harmonizing to a single tune… the tune of the coming explosion.

The scene was insane: swollen Gates, energy leaking from them unstable, and a strange light dancing on their edges. Faint cracking sounds began to grow louder, as if the very fabric of spacetime was beginning to tear.

Every being or creature in this world felt or saw what was happening, but the reactions were varied. Some thought it was the sign of a miracle or heavenly aid, some felt it was an omen of doom, and others saw it as just another reason for despair.

As for me, I didn't belong to any of those groups; because I had anticipated what would happen from the very beginning… and just as I suspected exactly:

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

The explosions began to follow one another from every Gate on the horizon, without any exception. They fell to the ground like fiery meteors.

But what fell wasn't rocks or shrapnel… but round, colored objects that seemed, at first glance, light and thin, as if weightless. However, their deceptive appearance was soon revealed; their impact with the ground carved massive craters of distorted dimensions, meaning those "thin objects" carried literally fantastical weights.

After a few moments of observation, I realized I was standing at the center of these events. I was surrounded from all directions. But that didn't scare me… I was no longer an ordinary human. I was now an evolved human, capable of destroying buildings with a single wave of my hand… or at least, that's what I thought.

The sounds around me grew louder and louder, and cracks began to spread across the entire surface of the Gates. The sound was like shattering glass, but bigger and deeper… as if the world itself was cracking.

Then…

*Boom!!!*

The first Gate clearly split open, its transparent form blending with its surroundings, to reveal something hidden inside. As the moments passed, that something became clearer.

They were creatures… different creatures behind every Gate. Goblins, ghouls, humanoid lizards, giant bears… all kinds of monsters, lined up in organized ranks, as if they were about to wage a war of fate.

And like any army, each had a leader, with arrogant features and a sharp gaze, a look that made you feel like you were just a worthless ant.

I remained stunned by the scene, not because it was the scene of a single Gate… but because I could see hundreds of them in front of me.

I laughed sarcastically: "Hahaha…It seems my luck is very bad today."

I could only laugh at this situation. Only moments had passed since I obtained my new power, and I didn't even know its true extent against these armies…

Slap! "Oh…right! I remembered how stupid I really am!"

I wasn't yet accustomed to using my skills, so I was still acting as if I were in a normal world.

I turned my gaze towards one of the nearby Gates, the smallest compared to the others, and predicted it would be the first from which the monsters would flow. I took a deep breath and uttered:

[Third Eye]

As soon as I activated the skill, a transparent window filled with information appeared before me:

[Rabbit World Gate – F]: A gate connected to a world with simple-minded creatures. Its goal is to invade the world it has appeared in and purge it of all creatures or enslave them.

[Time until opening]:5 minutes

[World Strength]:F

[Number of troops]:100

[Troop type]:Humanoid Rabbits

[Strength]:F

"Wow… it revealed everything! The strength, the number, the time until opening, and even the goal of the invasion! How amazing you are, Third Eye…!"

I felt a strange euphoria as I stared at that floating window in front of me, with its bright colors and detailed information.

Then I raised my eyes towards the leader standing in front of the army of Humanoid Rabbits. It was a black rabbit, with a slender build and an elegant black suit, as if it were a glorious prince on his way to a royal party. A long sword hung at its waist.

When his eyes met mine, he glanced at me with a look… was it a look of contempt? Yes, he looked at me as if I were just a lowly creature, no different from an ant.

At that moment, a devilish smile spread across my face, while his information appeared before me…
