Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: "2007 to 2008"

In early 2007, the jay family estate stood bathed in the golden light of spring, with emerald lawns stretching beneath the canopy of mango trees. The grand gates of the mansion, polished and regal, opened wide as a sleek black Rolls Royce Phantom pulled into the courtyard. The door clicked open.

A tall young man stepped out. No longer the toddler who once asked for alphabet blocks, Vijay stood like a figure out of a dream — tailored suit in royal blue, crisp white shirt, pocket square folded with precision. There was no extravagance in his demeanor, only confidence and quiet authority. His blue eyes, reflecting the genes of his Russian mother, scanned the familiar ground.

He was home.

Inside the mansion, Rusheina stood frozen for a heartbeat. Then the silence broke — the sound of heels running across marble, the rustle of silk, and finally a soft cry: "Vijay!"

She hugged him like she was holding time itself. Her once-small boy, now grown, now a man, had returned from MIT, where he had graduated with multiple degrees. Her fingers ran over his face as if checking whether it was real.

Shivraj, standing beside the grand staircase, gave a rare smile. "You've grown," he said simply.

Vijay touched his father's feet in deep reverence. "I've missed you both," he whispered.

The next day, in the family study lined with walnut bookshelves, Vijay opened his laptop and brought up a private server. "I want to share something," he said.

He explained how, over three years, he had silently acquired 10% equity in companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, Tesla, Intel, Disney, Marvel, and Amazon — through shadow corporations, offshore vehicles, and silent partners. Using his system and analytical prowess, he had spotted undervalued equity early and invested heavily.

Both parents were stunned. Shivraj, normally unreadable, raised his brows slightly. "You've turned Jay Family into a global powerhouse without our name ever being mentioned."

Rusheina was less composed. She held his hand tightly. "You did all this... alone?"

"No, Mother. With you in my heart, and Father's name guiding my ambition."

In the week that followed, Vijay shared his findings about the brewing financial crisis.

He opened charts, Wall Street reports, real estate analytics, and credit derivative models. "The housing market in the U.S. is over-leveraged. Subprime loans are bundled and sold as AAA assets. Banks are exposed. Defaults will begin. Panic will follow."

"2008 will see the collapse of major institutions. Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns — even Citigroup might suffer. The Dow will plunge. Global confidence will shatter."

Rusheina gasped. Shivraj leaned forward. "And your plan?"

Vijay calmly turned the screen to a predictive model. "We short the housing market. Credit default swaps on mortgage-backed securities. We place jay Capital in a hedge position starting Q3 2007, and exit by mid-2008."

Despite his brilliance, Vijay knew the importance of legacy, of family unity. He turned to his father.

"This part is yours. I can predict, plan, and model. But I want the execution to carry the jay name. You built jay Group into a fortress. This move can secure it for generations."

Shivraj stared at him.

"You trust me with this?"

"I trust no one more."

There was a pause — then a firm handshake between father and son. A silent pact. A legacy passed on.

Ray Group's private financial arm, under direct supervision of Shivraj, began placing strategic short positions through intermediaries in New York, London, and Singapore. Billions in derivatives were slowly amassed.

Media speculated nothing. The Jay family remained invisible.

**Mother's Heart, Son's Conflict**

At night, in his mother's garden, Vijay sat beside Rusheina.

"You're still my boy," she said, touching his temple.

"I feel torn," he admitted. "I love this world, this house, this family. But sometimes I wonder if I'm destined to keep moving — chasing goals I don't even understand."

She cupped his face. "Even the stars return to the sky after their journey. You're not alone anymore."

And for the first time in both his lives — he believed it.

**By End of 2008...**

The world would collapse.

But the jay family would rise, not through exploitation, but through foresight.

Their war chest would swell. Their power expand.

All because of a boy with ambition, reborn with a mission.

And the quiet love of a mother.

And the silent strength of a father.

Together — they would shape the new world.
