Dominic lay on the ground, gasping.
"Second wave?" he whispered. "Are you damn serious..?"
The sky thundered with violent thunder and lightning. The sky cracked visibly and the sky coloured yelow.
More shadows appeared on the ridge. His eyes widened in shock and dismay. He felt hollow as he had no strength or energy left in him.
"This system is damn freaking kidding me! A second wave?" Dominic muttered in dismay.
The winds howled through the twisted, shadow-laced terrain as Dominic dragged his feet through pools of blood—his own and the Lekars'. His breath came in ragged, uneven gasps.
"Holy hell. I can't believe this! I really can't face then again! That would be hell! This system I damn broken!" Dominic cursed as he struggled to his feet.
The first wave had taken everything from him: his stamina, his composure, his mental clarity. And still, the second wave came.
