Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Perverted Sage’s Proposal

"The Perverted Sage's Proposal"

Naruto stared at Jiraiya, his mind a whirlwind of confusion and suspicion. "You're seriously saying you want to help me... with manga?"

Jiraiya chuckled, flipping through the latest volume with a gleam in his eye. "Kid, this thing you've created is shaking up the whole ninja world. The drama, the humor, the action—it's like nothing we've seen before. You've got talent, but your technique needs refinement. Lucky for you, I'm a master of storytelling."

Naruto narrowed his eyes. "You're just using this as an excuse to get involved, aren't you?"

Jiraiya grinned shamelessly. "Maybe. But think about it: with my experience and your... uh, enthusiasm, we could create something truly legendary."

The System chimed in.

Quest Unlocked: "The Mangaka's Mentor"

Objective: Collaborate with Jiraiya to improve your storytelling and artistic skills.

Reward: Unlock the "Dynamic Action Paneling" skill.

Naruto groaned. "Great. Now I'm stuck with the Pervy Sage as my editor."

Sparring With Stories

"Alright, kid," Jiraiya said, pulling out a blank scroll and an inkbrush. "Let's see how you handle a battle scene. Draw something intense—life or death!"

Naruto frowned, sitting cross-legged on the ground with his sketchbook. "Life or death, huh? Alright, let's do this."

He closed his eyes, visualizing a climactic fight. His hand moved quickly, sketching two figures clashing in a swirl of energy and kunai. When he finished, he held it up for Jiraiya to see.

The older ninja studied it, nodding thoughtfully. "Not bad. The tension's there, but it's missing something... emotion."

"Emotion?"

Jiraiya pointed at the characters. "Look at their faces. They're fighting, but what are they feeling? Fear? Rage? Desperation? A real battle isn't just about flashy moves; it's about what's at stake."

Naruto blinked. "Huh. I never thought about it like that."

"Try again," Jiraiya said, leaning back against a tree.

This time, Naruto focused on the expressions, adding detail to their eyes and the sweat on their brows. When he finished, Jiraiya clapped him on the back. "Now that's more like it! You're learning fast, kid."

The Village Reacts

Meanwhile, Konoha was abuzz with excitement over the latest volume of Naruto.

At the Hokage's office, Hiruzen Sarutobi was flipping through the manga, a small smile playing on his lips. "This artist... whoever they are, they understand the heart of a shinobi."

Elsewhere, Kakashi was reading his copy under a tree, his visible eye crinkling with amusement. "Whoever's behind this has a sharp wit. And they've captured me perfectly, if I do say so myself."

Even Sasuke, who usually dismissed the manga as frivolous, found himself drawn to the latest plot twist.

"This is ridiculous," he muttered, flipping the page. But his hand lingered, turning to the next one.

The Hinata Effect

At the training grounds, Naruto was practicing his sketches while Jiraiya offered unsolicited advice.

"Your female characters need more... pizzazz," Jiraiya said, winking.

Naruto threw his eraser at him. "I'm not making it weird, Pervy Sage!"

As they bickered, Hinata approached timidly, holding a neatly wrapped package.

"N-Naruto-kun," she stammered, her cheeks pink. "I... I made some lunch for you."

Naruto froze, his sketchbook slipping from his hands. "For me? Really?"

Jiraiya elbowed him. "Don't just stand there, kid. Say thank you!"

"T-Thanks, Hinata," Naruto said, scratching the back of his head. "That's really nice of you."

Hinata's eyes flickered to the sketchbook on the ground. "What are you working on?"

Naruto quickly snatched it up. "Uh, nothing! Just some doodles!"

Jiraiya smirked but said nothing, letting the moment play out.

A New Rival?

As Naruto packed up his things, a shadowy figure watched from the treetops. The figure dropped silently to the ground, holding a rolled-up copy of the manga.

"So, this is the work of the 'mystery artist,'" they murmured. "Interesting. I wonder how they'll handle... competition."

The figure vanished into the night, leaving behind only a crumpled page with hastily drawn sketches.
