Chapter 2 - "Ten Years and a Hogwarts Invitation."

-----

-----

Ten years had flown by in the blink of an eye.

For Augustus, ten years was more than enough to get a solid grasp of this world. A world where low-level magic and technology coexisted, and the magical community stayed hidden in the shadows. There hadn't been any miracles here for hundreds of years—probably a realm abandoned by the gods.

As for the family he was born into—the Julius family—they actually turned out to be one of the big-name pure-blood families in the magical world. A political powerhouse that had produced several Ministers for Magic over the generations.

But to Augustus, the Ministry was just a bunch of idiots waving sticks around. Yep, sticks. In this world, people needed these black wands just to cast spells. To someone like Augustus—who had already set one foot into godhood as a mage, that was just laughable.

Of course, now that he'd been reborn here, he had to start everything from scratch. Still, the unique magic system of this world was pretty fascinating. And the death of Voldemort, along with Dumbledore still being hailed as the leader of the light, caught his attention even more. Augustus specialized in ice and fire magic, but legendary spells weren't beyond him either. After some analysis, he figured that both Dumbledore and Voldemort had to be at least in the legendary tier of mages.

The past ten years might have felt dull for Augustus, but for the Julius family, they were full of surprises and joy. First, when he was just three years old, the family's special testing stone detected magical power in him that was almost at an adult level. Then, before he turned five, a failed magical experiment revealed something even more incredible—he could already cast spells without a wand.

To outsiders, Augustus seemed like one lucky little heir of a prestigious family. But to many within the Julius clan, having someone like Augustus was the real stroke of luck.

In the heart of the sprawling estate, Augustus sat casually on a swing in the middle of the garden. The lazy afternoon sun bathed his soft, golden hair. His pale, handsome face was lit up by a pair of silvery eyes—clear and brilliant like crystal. From those silver pupils, delicate lines of shimmer radiated outward. His hair color shimmered unpredictably, with a golden glow that carried a noble air. His eyes tilted slightly upward at the corners, and the faintest smile played beneath his long lashes. Dappled sunlight filtered through the leaves and danced across the open pages of the book in his hands.

It was an old-looking book, and the words Dragons and Magic shimmered faintly at the top of the page. Augustus found the dragons of this world rather interesting.

"Augustus, darling! There you are. I thought you might be out here." A warm voice called out as a beautiful woman walked toward him. It was his mother, Aurora Alice. "Quickly, go get ready! The owl from Hogwarts has finally delivered your letter. We need to head to Diagon Alley and get your books and supplies."

"So it's finally here, huh? I've been waiting forever." The usually calm Augustus couldn't help but look a little excited. He hopped off the swing and walked over to Aurora, taking the envelope from her hands.

The envelope was pale yellow, and written in emerald green ink across the front was:Mr. Augustus Julius, Julius Manor, London.

He pulled out the letter and read:

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and WizardryHeadmaster: Albus Dumbledore(Chief Warlock of the International Confederation of Wizards,President of the Wizengamot,Order of Merlin, First Class)

Dear Mr. Augustus,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A list of required books and equipment is enclosed. The term begins on September 1. Please send your owl with a response no later than July 31.

Sincerely,Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress

Looks like he could finally get a proper look at this world's magic system. Sure, the manor had plenty of books, but Augustus knew that real, in-depth knowledge could only be found at school.

"Well, what are we waiting for, Mother? Let's head out now!" Augustus said eagerly.

"My, Hogwarts must be quite the draw if it gets you this excited," Aurora said with a smile, clearly surprised and amused by her son's enthusiasm. "Let's go to the drawing room first. Your father is waiting for us."

Augustus followed his mother through the winding corridors of the manor until they arrived at the front reception hall. Waiting there, dressed in understated yet elegant formal wear, was Clovis Julius—his father—who had clearly been waiting for a while.

As his wife and son approached, Clovis smiled warmly. He looked at Augustus, now seated in front of him, and said with pride, "Son, I can hardly believe it's already been ten years. I still remember the day you were born. Over the past decade, you've amazed us time and again. You've far exceeded what's expected of the heir to the Julius family. Your understanding of magic is astonishing. Your mother and I feel completely at ease sending you to Hogwarts."

He took a sip of tea served by a house-elf, then continued, "You know, our family has produced several Ministers for Magic and many outstanding wizards. Your mother and I hope that someday, you'll grow into a truly great wizard too."

Augustus, who had patiently sat through the whole speech, finally saw the conversation circle back to the point. He couldn't help curling his lip a little as he replied, "Of course, Father. I've been ready for ages."

Not long after, a luxurious carriage soared into the sky from above the manor. Strangely, nothing seemed to be pulling it. The whole carriage glided smoothly through the brilliant golden sunlight, heading straight toward London.
