After Steve finished all his tests, he stepped out to look for something to eat. The streets were fairly crowded, so he had to focus on what he wanted.
Suddenly, a black car stopped in front of him. From inside, a group of people in dark suits jumped out, forming a kind of blockade.
"Hey, wait a moment, boss! We need to talk to you!" shouted one of the guards.
The car door slowly opened, and a man in a neat suit stepped out. His steps were calm but full of authority. He walked toward Steve with a sharp gaze.
Steve: "Who are you, sir?"
The man gave a slight smile. "I am the founder of a guild called The Great Hunter. Our mission is to find as many talented Hunters as possible and maximize their potential. I'm offering you a partnership, Steve. Take this card."
Steve: "Eh, wait-"
"Just think about it for now. We'll meet again later. Come back to the guild!"
With a casual movement, the man turned and walked back to his car. The car drove off, leaving Steve confused.
Steve opened the card and read its contents. The card offered a contract for Hunters who wanted to join: all their needs would be fully met, from training, equipment, to exclusive information and missions.
Steve: "So, Unknown, do you want to join?"
Unknown: "It's up to you."
Steve smiled faintly: "Alright then, let's join this guild!"
Steve began walking toward the guild building. Soon, he arrived at a magnificent structure. He entered the building, and inside the grand hall, the logo of The Great Hunter gleamed brilliantly.
On every side, strong-looking Hunters were either training or chatting casually.
Steve: "This place is impressive, huh, Unknown?"
Unknown: "Not bad."
While Steve was looking around, a man who seemed to be the vice of the guild leader approached him. He greeted Steve: "Hello Steve, I'm the vice of the leader here. The leader has been waiting for you. Please follow me."
Steve walked through a long corridor lined with portraits of legendary Hunters, one of which was Shiro.
Steve: (Shiro is training here too!?)
After passing several doors, they arrived at the guild leader's office. Steve opened the door and was greeted by the leader of The Great Hunter.
"Steve, I didn't expect you to join our guild. What made you interested? Hah, but more importantly, welcome to The Great Hunter!"
Steve: "Thank you. But what exactly am I supposed to do here?"
"Simple. We will train you and have you fight against other Hunters to determine how worthy you are to be here."
Steve: "Alright, I'm ready. By the way, what's your name, sir?"
Kregk: "Call me Kregk!"
Steve nodded slightly, looking at Kregk with respect but still relaxed. "Alright, Kregk. I'm ready to start this training."
Kregk smiled, patting Steve on the shoulder.
Kregk: "Good. But remember, Steve, this place isn't just about physical strength it's also about strategy and your mental abilities."
Steve: (oh hell nah!)
Kregk called over some of his elite Hunters.
Kregk: "Fortis, Pulchra, Gens! Test Steve right now!"
Fortis was a muscle fanatic with undeniable strength.
Pulchra, a white-haired woman, looked kindhearted.
Gens was both a fighter and a scientist turned Hunter.
The three were the top A-rank Hunters.
The floor started to shake, and the ground beneath Steve gave way, throwing him down. When he opened his eyes, he saw a massive battle arena stretching far beyond sight.
Fortis: "Let's see how strong you really are, Steve!"
Pulchra: "Hello, my junior!"
Gens: "From your face, you look a dumbass."
Steve looked at them, clapped both his fists together, and shouted: "Come on, let's do this!"
