Experiment Log - Subject: Elen Warmith
Date: October 26, 1975
Objective: To systematically explore and develop my magical abilities, specifically telekinesis, as identified by Core.
Procedure: I will document my training regimen, focusing on controlled experimentation to quantify progress and identify limitations. Each entry will detail the specific exercises, observations, and any adjustments made to the training protocol.
Entry 1:
Time: 21:00
Exercise: Telekinesis Training - Weight Progression
Description: Initiated basic telekinesis exercises, focusing on manipulating objects of increasing mass. Started with an empty water bottle (estimated weight: 80 grams).
Observations:
Manipulation of the empty water bottle was achieved with relative ease. I can lift it, move it around the room, and hold it in a stable position.
Attempted more complex maneuvers, such as flipping the bottle in the air. Control is...rigid. Precise movements are difficult, and the bottle tends to wobble.
Concentration is key. Any lapse in focus results in the bottle dropping. There's a definite feeling of exertion, though not physical in the traditional sense. It's more like a mental strain.
Conclusion: Initial control over light objects is promising. The next step is to gradually increase the weight and complexity of the manipulations. Control and precision need significant improvement.
Entry 2:
Time: 22:30
Exercise: Telekinesis Training - Weight Limit Determination
Description: Aimed to establish the upper limit of my current telekinetic capacity. Used the same water bottle, gradually increasing the amount of water inside.
Observations:
Half-filled water bottle (estimated weight: 250 grams) proved to be significantly more challenging. I can lift it, but only for a short duration (approximately 10 seconds).
Stability is a major issue. The bottle wobbles and shakes, and maintaining a steady position requires intense concentration.
The mental strain is considerably higher. After a few attempts, I feel a noticeable fatigue, a kind of...mental exhaustion. It's not a headache, but more like a drained feeling.
Anything beyond half-full is currently impossible. I can't even lift it off the ground.
Conclusion: My current telekinetic weight limit is approximately 250 grams, and even at that weight, control is severely compromised. The next phase of training must focus on improving control and increasing the duration for which I can manipulate heavier objects.
Entry 3:
Time: 19:00
Exercise: Control and Capacity Training
Description: Today's session focused on two key areas: improving fine motor control over telekinesis and gradually increasing the weight I can manipulate. I'm using the water bottle, starting with it empty and slowly adding small amounts of water.
Observations:
Started with the empty bottle, practicing smooth, fluid movements: circles, figure-eights, and controlled rotations. This helped improve my focus and precision.
Adding small increments of water (50ml at a time) allowed me to gradually adapt to the increasing weight while maintaining a degree of control.
I've noticed that visualizing the force I'm exerting helps. Instead of just "lifting," I imagine a gentle, encompassing pressure, like a hand cradling the bottle. This seems to improve stability.
I was able to comfortably manipulate the bottle with 100ml of water, maintaining control for about 30 seconds. This is progress!
Conclusion: Combining control exercises with gradual weight increases appears to be an effective method. Visualization techniques also seem to enhance my ability. I will continue this approach, systematically increasing the weight and complexity of the exercises.
Personal Thoughts :
This telekinesis...it's more versatile than I initially thought. Obviously, it has practical applications for everyday convenience. Imagine never having to get up to grab something! But the combat potential...that's immense. If I can achieve fine enough control, I could manipulate small, sharp objects – needles, throwing knives – with incredible precision and speed. A surprise attack, a mid-air change of direction...it would be almost impossible to defend against. I need to experiment with that. The other magic abilities that Core mentioned also need to be explored and understood.
