Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7

c7: Banner's Shock

The systematic answer caused Ryan Wong to fall into contemplation.

So I have to unlock a version of Superman Prime One Million or Pre-Crisis Darkseid before I can draw characters other than from the Naruto universe?

There is no doubt that in the DC Universe, the ceiling of combat power rests with these cosmic heavyweights.

Even beings like Doctor Fate wielding the Helmet of Nabu or Zatanna with her spellcraft are slightly inferior in sheer cosmic scale compared to Prime Superman or the full might of Darkseid, who wields the Omega Effect and the Anti-Life Equation.

The plot of the entire Naruto World, much like the tangled multiverse webs of DC, stems from the power struggles of ancient bloodlines, similar to how the House of El and Apokolips have shaped the fabric of the DC narrative.

In this regard, Ryan Wong felt like Wally West, finally understanding the intricate Speed Force only to realize its constraints.

But what can we do if we understand these conditions?

Can this knowledge help me unlock Pre-Crisis Darkseid or Superman Prime One Million?

Ryan Wong suddenly became annoyed.

However, this worry did not stay in Ryan's mind for long.

At present, he had only played the first character, raising the progress of playing the strongest character in the Naruto World to 100%, which was still far from unlocking characters from other universes.

Even if Ryan Wong were to die of frustration like Bruce Banner's mental breakdowns in Marvel, it wouldn't help.

Moreover, the most important thing at the moment was to increase the progress of Minato Namikaze (Fourth Hokage) to 50%, get a chance to play new characters, and unlock more of the prize pool!

After thinking this through, Ryan Wong stopped worrying and went to sleep without a second thought.

Early the next morning, Ryan woke up.

Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar surroundings, Ryan realized that everything from last night was indeed real.

He had actually traveled to the Marvel Universe, taken on the persona of Minato Namikaze, defeated Emil Blonsky (Abomination), and even fought Bruce Banner (Hulk) to a standstill.

In other words, the Incredible Hulk storyline had come to an end.

Next up were the storylines of Iron Man 2 and Thor, where the arrival of Tony Stark's upgraded suits and Thor's struggle against Loki and the Destroyer were set to unfold.

Ryan Wong began strategizing how to leverage these events to increase his character's progress.

He considered many possibilities, but none seemed sufficient if he only relied on Minato Namikaze's abilities.

Therefore, the goal set last night was correct. He needed to push Minato's progress bar as soon as possible and unlock new characters from the prize pool!

So, he decided to look for someone to give him a mission today!

First, Ryan checked his belongings.

This was unavoidable—even if you were Minato Namikaze, you still needed resources to survive in the Marvel Universe, let alone an ordinary person like Ryan Wong.

After checking, Ryan found that he had roughly $50,000 to $60,000 USD in total assets.

So much money, just enough for food, clothing, shelter, and transportation, it would last for a long time.

That being the case, there's no need to worry about money for the time being—then act now!

There was no one in the apartment—no butler like Alfred Pennyworth, no bodyguard like Happy Hogan, no cheerful AI like JARVIS. This lonely place had once been maintained by a predecessor.

Without family, without friends, Ryan Wong felt like John Constantine, a lone mage navigating the dark corners of New York, or perhaps more like Matt Murdock after a rough night of vigilantism.

But this loneliness was convenient for Ryan Wong, so he didn't have to waste time and energy dealing with the social ties of his predecessor.

After making himself a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast (with a dash of sriracha he found in the cupboard), Ryan Wong went out to a secluded alley to once again play the role of Minato Namikaze.

Wow~

The handsome and gentle Fourth Hokage materialized, and then he activated the Flying Thunder God Technique, a teleportation move reminiscent of Nightcrawler's bamf or Doctor Fate's instant transportation spells.

The next second, he appeared right beside Bruce Banner.

The reason was simple: he needed to hand over his contact information to Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Hulk.

Sure, the Flying Thunder God's mark existed as an anchor point, but there was no convenient means of communication—this wasn't WayneTech's encrypted comlinks or Stark's nanotech communicators. A simple phone number would have to do.

Ryan Wong had overlooked this detail last night, and today he had to make up for it.

As soon as he appeared next to Bruce Banner, Ryan Wong frowned.

Because he had appeared on the same rooftop as yesterday, and there was Dr. Banner, lying on the cold ground with a few crumpled copies of the Daily Bugle covering him.

"So pitiful?"

Ryan Wong clicked his tongue, then unceremoniously nudged Banner awake.

In truth, Banner had been alert from the moment Ryan arrived. This was the hyper-awareness he'd developed after years of evading Thunderbolt Ross, much like Jason Bourne's constant vigilance.

The reason he'd pretended to be asleep was to observe Ryan's next move.

When Ryan woke him, Banner gave up the act. He rubbed his bleary eyes, and the first thing he said was, "Hey, man, you should've taken me somewhere else last night. This rooftop's door is locked."

Ryan Wong looked slightly embarrassed. "Couldn't you have busted through? You really slept up here?"

"No, that might've triggered Hulk," Dr. Banner replied, adjusting his glasses. "So, what brings you here today?"

Recalling his purpose, Ryan Wong handed Banner his phone number—scrawled on a crumpled receipt and discreetly passed him some cash, leading him from the rooftop.

This wasn't done by simply taking the stairs. Instead, he channeled chakra, his soles adhering to the vertical surface of the building, and carried Banner down the side of the building like Spider-Man on a casual wall-crawl or Batman scaling Gotham's skyscrapers.

"Holy smokes!" Banner exclaimed, landing on the sidewalk. "What was that? How can you walk on walls like that?"

Ryan Wong shot him a glance, muttered a single word—"Chakra" and then disappeared with the Flying Thunder God Technique, much like Zatanna disappearing in a swirl of magic or Doctor Strange vanishing through a portal.

He had his own mission to complete and didn't have time to linger with Banner.

This left Banner a bit disappointed, but his curiosity was piqued. "Chakra? What's that?!"
