Chapter 5 - 04 A Bomb For You~

One of the delinquents occupying Sanctum Tower was trembling with sheer terror.

"What...the hell is this?"

In her eyes, she saw hell itself.

"Kyaaaaa!!!!"

"H-Help me!!!"

"Hieeeekk!!"

Hundreds of students who, only moments before, had been ecstatic about occupying Sanctum Tower, were now screaming in agony.

The tank they had put their faith in lay embedded in a nearby building, a result of the explosion.

Their trusted seniors had rushed at the one who caused this mayhem, attacking relentlessly, but in mere minutes... no, mere seconds... they were annihilated.

"Just...this was done by one person?"

Even the strongest from other academies couldn't dominate a battlefield so utterly, single-handedly!

Just what is that thing?!

"Oh my~? It seems there are still some people left~"

"Eek!!!"

As the mouse doll that had wiped them out drew closer, the figure controlling it from below—wearing a mask marked with a mint-colored '0'—looked in her direction and slowly approached.

"N-Need to run...!!"

As the primary culprit behind all this drew near, she tried to move quickly, desperate to escape this place.

"H-Huh?"

But her legs wouldn't obey. Her body was frozen by the sheer terror of being left alone.

"Oh dear~ Please don't be too scared~ Even though I look like this, by your age, I'm only 15, you know?"

A 15-year-old isn't this strong! It's like saying...

"M-Monster...!!"

You're a monster!!

"Monster...that's a bit harsh. I'm a victim too, you know? See? Because you guys suddenly went wild, the train stopped. For a full four hours, at that."

"J-Just because you couldn't endure 4 hours, you did this to us...!!" (T.N.: I might not even have the patience for 1 hour, let alone 4. Hmph!)

"Just four hours, you say? How precious time is. Especially for people who sell things, time is something you can't buy with money, you know?"

"...Bullsh—Mmhpfh!!"

The figure shoved something into her mouth. It felt like something thick and round... (T.N.: Naughty, naughty~)

"Now... as punishment for taking my four hours... shall I blow your jaw off?"

What was in her mouth was a hand grenade.

"Mphfffrrgh!!!!"

She thrashed, trying to claw out what had been forced into her mouth, but the figure wouldn't allow it. Her hands were seized, rendering her unable to move them.

"Don't be so scared, okay? You have a Halo, so you won't die. It'll hurt enough to make you wish you were dead, but for taking my time, isn't it just perfect?"

"Mmph!!"

A demon... a demon that couldn't even be compared to those in Gehenna was grinning slyly in front of the girl.

Seeing that, the delinquent understood.

They had provoked someone they absolutely, definitively, should never have provoked.

"Pop~"

"Mph—AAAAAAAH!!!!"

Feeling the explosion erupt in her mouth, the girl lost consciousness.

"Just kidding~! It was a lie~ I'm not a psycho, you know~ I wouldn't actually put a real grenade in someone's mouth~"

That was just a mint grenade, so there's no danger to life.

"Well, you probably can't hear me anyway~"

Yami looked down at the delinquent before him, unconscious and covered in mint, and stood up.

He didn't think it was too much. They had wasted his time, after all. This much was being generous; he ended it quickly. If it had been just a day or two of delay, he really would have put a real grenade in their mouth.

"Squeak. Squeak."

"Huh? What, Shiro? You're already done? I thought you'd play around a bit more."

Shiro, the mouse doll who had been dealing with the other delinquents nearby, appeared and indicated that they were all dealt with.

"Squeak, squeak."

"I'm not a psycho like you? What are you talking about? How am I a psycho? This is practically being an angel."

"Squeak. Squeak squeak. (Someone from Trinity would weep hearing you say that.)"

"Heeey... that's mean~"

Yami made a show of shedding fake tears. But Shiro had never once fallen for it.

"Squeak. Squeak. Squeak squeak? (By the way, I asked you to call Kuro next time. They got sulky because you keep only calling me?)"

"Ah~ Really? Hmm... Come to think of it, I haven't called Kuro lately. But Shiro is easier to call, isn't it? Kuro keeps whining about wanting to do stuff outside."

Last time, Kuro was called by someone from Trinity and wanted to have tea, and even fought the Justice Task Force over it. And almost got shot in the eye because of that, you know?

"Squeak, squeak. (Not my problem.)"

Having finished its request, Shiro transformed into a small figure and dropped into Yami's outstretched hand.

"Wish you'd talked a bit more~ Or so I'd like to say, but... no time."

Whup-whup-whup-whup!!

Propeller sounds echoed from the sky. At times like this, being slow really is convenient.

"Shall we head back now? I still have some time left for my goods, so I should be able to sell them."

If worst comes to worst, he'd have to set up shop near this academy and sell there. If he didn't sell this batch, he wouldn't even be able to afford the train ticket home.

"Alright, let's get to it~"

Time to sell some goods~

In the place Yami left, only the sounds of students groaning in fear and pain could be heard.

And a few minutes later.

"This place is..."

Sensei and their group arrived, a little late.
