Linda's eyes widened as her own signature stared back at her, scrawled roughly at the bottom of the last page. Her name. The date. Everything was there—undeniable.
"No…no…no... this, this isn't real," she whispered. "I didn't sign this. I didn't sign this!!" she screamed, throwing the folder straight to his face.
David watched the folder drop with a thud. He leaned against his desk, arms crossed on his chestas he sighed. "You signed it on your birthday, in Laon. You were drunk on champagne. You never even read it."
Her hand flew to her mouth as memories flashed before her eyes. Linda staggered back, shakingher head in denial as she recalled everything…
Linda and David lived in the same neighborhood for less than one year before Linda and her family left the country. She and David kept in touch for a while and then, life happened and they lost contact. Or so Linda thought.
Fast forward to last year, at Linda's graduation day from modeling school in Laon.
