Chapter 4 - Shadows Beneath the Surface

Under the ink-black sky, Tianming stood still in the dust. A cold, dark aura slowly rose from his body — the mark of his newly awakened Martial Spirit, the Voidshadow Wolf.

There was no fear in his eyes anymore — only silence, and within that silence, a single emotion burned — vengeance.

"This is just the beginning..." he whispered.

A Mysterious Encounter

As he turned to head back into the forest, a cold breeze brushed past the back of his neck. From the branch of an ancient tree, a shadowy figure emerged — an old man whose eyes were dull, yet filled with wisdom.

"So… you've awakened that beast," the old man said.

Tianming tensed. "Who are you?"

"People once called me Elder Mu. I was an elder of the Azure Fang Sect long ago."

Tianming narrowed his eyes. "Sect? Why are you here?"

Elder Mu sighed. "I was waiting for someone like you. Someone whose eyes don't hold justice — but revenge."

The Hidden Legacy

Elder Mu led him deep into a cave. The walls were etched with forgotten inscriptions; shattered swords lay scattered across the floor. At the heart of it all was a single ancient jade, glowing faintly — within it, the soul of a broken blade pulsed faintly.

"This is the Shadowfang Blade, a legacy long forsaken. It only bonds with those whose Martial Spirit thrives on darkness and the thrill of the hunt."

Tianming reached out and touched the jade — a cold scream echoed through his soul.

Pain lanced through Tianming's veins. He fell to his knees as lightning crackled within him. Elder Mu simply watched, his expression unreadable.

"You are no longer just a forsaken boy… You're becoming a threat."

Scene Shift: Shadowclaw Sect

Far away, deep in the Shadowclaw Sect, Elder Rong received word: someone had awakened the Shadowfang Blade.

"Could it be that the boy… the one we cursed… is still alive?" he muttered.

"That boy… is no longer the same," another elder replied darkly.
