Chapter 47 - Consequences from the Three Fates

The last image the world saw was that of Hildr shattering the broadcasting magical device the moment she found it.

A few days passed, and the world was still in an uproar over what had just happened. They had seen Stevens' face and identified his family and background. They understood the cause of all this trouble, and this sparked a debate over who was right and who was wrong. Most people agreed that Stevens was right in his attempt to seek vengeance for his slain comrade. This majority were the ones who were not too clear on the consequences the world would have faced had Stevens managed to kill Hildr. They did not fully understand the terror of the Night King, a man who had spent thousands of years looking for his daughter. If this daughter were then killed just like that, who knows what the Night King would have done.

Back at the academy, Hildr was extremely pissed. She was completely enraged by what had happened to her. She met with her father and Uluf, and the three discussed the matter in detail. The Night King left the academy and met with the Premier that very day. A few hours later, the Premier sent out a decree in the name of the Sol King. This decree banned the storage and distribution of the recordings of the battle between Hildr and Stevens.

The Night King had demanded this to be made so. Most people believed that this was because of the fact that Hildr had been completely naked for most of the fight. To the public, the Night King was doing this to safeguard his daughter's virtue. Some people resisted, but this was a decree from the most powerful force on the continent. Even the Domain Kings and Queens had to obey.

Still, there would be a few recordings that would spread in the underbelly of society, but these would be limited.

In truth, the Night King and Hildr had decided to demand the ban of this recording because of the manner in which Hildr had killed Stevens. In the end, she had fought using techniques she had never learned and did not remember even doing so. Something was clearly afoot, and leaving this information out there in the world would most likely bring more trouble.

In the following days, Hildr ordered Uluf to increase security around the dormitory. Uluf obeyed and even went a bit overboard. He even went to the principal and demanded that he be allowed to bring more security personnel onto campus, all in the interest of safeguarding Hildr. The principal had refused, but Uluf was not the Vizier to a king due to his handsomeness or something like that. He was a truly talented man. He maneuvered in the background, bribing council members and even the media to pressure the principal until she agreed to Uluf's demand.

Hildr returned to her studies as though nothing had happened. She grew closer to Luna after she learned that the girl had truly been worried about her during her time with Stevens.

Hildr had wanted to remain untethered to any of these people, but she found herself unable to refuse Luna's friendship. After all her time in this world, Hildr finally made her first friend.

On the other hand, the other girls grew more distant. This was so especially for Shetani wa Wazee, Shet, the roommate who was a shapeshifter but refused to tell Hildr what kind of shapeshifter she was.

The girl's hatred toward Hildr had greatly increased. These days, she completely avoided Hildr. Hildr hoped that this was something as simple as Shet being angered since Stevens, whom Hildr had also killed, was a shapeshifter. Hildr ordered Uluf to look deeper into who and what Shet was.

Hildr was no longer willing to take on any kind of risk in regards to her safety. She had to stay at Lemuria Academy for seven years, and she was still only at the beginning of the first year.

Amelia's hatred for Hildr remained the same, but she did not show it as much. It was actually more like Amelia did not have enough time on her hands. She spent all her time in the infirmary with Adrian. Amelia also seemed to grow weaker with each passing day. She looked paler, and her hair seemed to be withering. Hildr was at first not sure about what was going on with this young woman, but after thinking about the matter and going through the data Uluf had managed to steal from the apothecary in the infirmary, Hildr came to a startling conclusion.

"Her death will be good for me," said Hildr.

Everyone in the lecture hall looked at her as though she was some sort of foreign creature.

Hildr smiled lovingly, forcing all the students to look away. After they saw her fight against Stevens, they were all shaken by what she could do. The boys, on the other hand, had fallen in love with her. Even though they were scared of her, they had also seen her beauty. Some of them even still hid recordings of her battle, recordings they used when masturbating.

The Battle Master looked at Hildr for a second before continuing with his lecture. He had somehow managed to gather enough interest to begin teaching the students in earnest.

His lectures were very interesting, and the students looked forward to them most of all.

As the lecture was going on, Hildr, Amelia, and Anastasia, who had for some reason been transferred into this group, all collapsed at the same time. They convulsed and kicked as they screamed out in pain. The convulsions only stopped when the red stone that sat on Hildr's head glowed, releasing a powerful light that covered her body and those of the other two women.

Ever since Hildr arrived at this academy, she had always had a simple golden headband that went through her hair and allowed a red stone to fall on her forehead.

Some people thought that she wore this headband to show her status as a princess, but this was not the case. The headband/tiara was a powerful heirloom of the Draugr royal family that had been passed down for thousands of years.

This treasure allowed her to remain alive and unharmed by the consequences of refusing to accept the bond to Anastasia. After the bond is formed, there is usually a very short amount of time for the parties to accept the bond. Those who refuse to go through with the bond usually face consequences from the Three Fates.

With this treasure, that held the Stone of the Doomed, Hildr had avoided these consequences until now.
