"Stats!"
My croak of a command goes unanswered as no digital or magical screen pops up in front of me.
Maybe I just need to think about it? Clear my mind and envision the stat screen...
I might as well the lids to close as if it will grease up the rusty gears of my imagination and try to picture that very convenient skill and trait list. But despite the strained effort, nothing appeared before me that shows me how much of an overpowered newcomer I am.
There's not even the option to access to that s-tier inventory box full of premium pre-purchased OP items when I stretch my hand out like a fucking 4th grader on a hero high.
Okay… Guess I can cross out being the main hero. And I might as well rule out this being a dream since NOTHING here is bending to my will! Well at least I don't have to worry about being in a coma, or car crash papers. So... I guess... I just have to wait.
Being spared from a fate worse than death, I might as well just sit here and either wait for rescue in the form of hot chicks or freezing to death.
I mean it's either those two options or let fear and paranoia rendering me a mess beyond repair.
"Fuck! Don't even have my meds! Welp, le'see how long I last before I'm rendered a complete irrational lunatic."
But hey, I'm pretty sure frostbite will take the gold before I go crazy or thirsty, given how the wind, and the upcoming rainstorm are coming up. There are ominously peaceful dark clouds blanketing a vibrant teal sky all while it's becoming soothingly paler and darker, how does that even work?
This might be the med withdrawal kicking in, but a part of me is wondering if I should just swim in whatever direction rather than waiting for help to come to me. Would help even come? Or would I just sign my own death warrant for not being patient enough?
Geez, feels like one of those really old school RPGs!
That's when my oblivious mind somehow catches my biggest clue on what I should have paid attention to earlier: What is it with the sky? It's pretty but... pretty weird to see it so vibrant and feels pretty close, almost like it's hovering over me like some creepy stalker.
Either way, I guess this is a sign that the rainstorm is about to take the next shift.
Okay… let's just… let's just assume that I've been accidentally transported to another world by mistake.
For now, I'll just stick with that theory for now for the sake of my own sanity.
A deep breath is expelled from my throat as I flop my back down a little harder than intended as my makeshift raft reminds me that I'm still on thin ice about my stay.
After silencing bad mouthing my only hope, and petty slamming the surface, I just gaze up at a thick clouded sky with that all too familiar rumbling signaling me of the upcoming storm.
It does not take long for the first drops of rain to fall from the heavens and patter my face with their tears.
Just as I hoped, as the thunder's roars grow louder and clouds erupted with pouring water, things are just so peaceful right now. I mean, yeah, I'm shivering like crazy, but that's a given.
I've always been a sucker for rain, and if storms are involved, all the better. I still never understood why that-
"What the-!"
My body springs up, jolting from an unsettling tingling against my heart, like a spider or centipede is crawling up it. I cry out flogging my chest with my hands only to feel something rock hard close to my heart.
"AGH!" My hands frantically brush against my chest only to feel a firm tug against the back of my neck.
Obviously confused, and slightly calmer now, it doesn't take long for my cautious hands to connect to the dots to find that rogue bug is actually a necklace.
One breath of relief later, I'm now at a complete loss since wearing any type of jewelry is not really my style. Regardless, I fish it out from under my shirt only to find myself gazing upon possibly one of the simplest yet gorgeous shimmering aqua turtle I've ever seen.
Its beauty is only enhanced by the faint hue growing more vivid from within its shell.
Almost like magic.
I couldn't savior the show sadly since the illumination flickering within has faded. At this point, I can't help but feel if my eyes are playing tricks on me.
If so, here's I how I would summarized my overall situation: I'm lost in the middle of an ocean, possibly in another world despite how fucking crazy that sounds, I have some sort of turtle talisman that must have glowed, and I know I'm shivering and probably going to freeze to death! Just my luck!
And just when my luck could not get any worse, like every person, country or whatever hitting their darkest hour, salvation comes in the shape of three majestic ships sailing towards my general direction.
Though calling them ships seems a little inaccurate. If anything, these are floating castles. I mean, if a bireme, a junk and Kunomoto Castle had an orgy and popped out a baby, that's what it would looks like. I mean they got the plain white sails, but I can't help but wonder if they're just for show as thick oars are sticking out of the fat hull.
No way, with the way the wind is these babies are coming at me at mach speed.
At this rate, my rescue is going to completely skip me!
"HEY!" Dude how my stones didn't drop yet is pretty freakin' crazy. "HEEEEEEY!"
Unfortunately, I can't speak for everyone but, speaking from very recent experience, when your freezing to the point you wish you can be thrown in some witch's boiling pot, to hell with caution, to hell with stranger danger, if that ship is warmer than the one you're on, you'll risk it all just to have some itchy lice infested blanket thrown over you.
Man.... those lice must taste so good right now...
And with the ship slowing its speed as it closes in on me, it seems my victory is in sight!
"Oh thank you!" I gleefully whisper. "Thank you so much!"
I'm so happy that I blissfully ignore the small little paranoid voice in my mind saying that this is too good to be true. Things can't possibly get any worse right?
Gravity becomes a real demon as I can feel myself on the verge of sliding of all directions. But as my stomach tightens, the roar of the ocean beneath me falters as I soon find myself at near equal elevation with one of the ships, which is now being shredded from something titanic and rocky ascending from beneath.
My raft is doomed to an irreversible slide forcing me to barely roll off and clutching onto what must only be described as raw inhuman size black sand, pebbles and rock woven and mended together to form volcanic black earth.
Nothing like an incoherent cry to let out as a hailstorm of wood flies at me, forcing my back, arms and legs to take the full brunt. Sorry boys. The face takes priority.
"Please stop... stop now... pleasepleasepleaseplease.... Wo- what the-"
Earth volatile, agitated, leaving it digging into my hands and knees. Almost like...
"When did everything got rocky alluva sudden!?"
