On the way to the city, Daniel couldn't help but ask the Soul Enforcer walking beside him with a trace of curiosity.
"By the way, what kind of punishment will that soul from earlier face?"
Upon hearing the question, the Soul Enforcer answered casually, stating the outcome without hesitation.
"He'll probably be imprisoned indefinitely. If he behaves well in prison, he might be released after a few hundred years. But if he behaves poorly, there's also a chance he'll be executed outright."
Daniel narrowed his eyes slightly.
He hadn't expected that merely uttering the phrase Book of Souls would carry such a severe consequence.
"Please wait a moment. I will now open a portal for you."
The Soul Enforcer raised his hand, and a portal materialized in the air before him.
Surprisingly, the surface of the portal was covered in countless tentacles, writhing and twitching faintly.
"All set. Please, go on in."
Daniel didn't hesitate and stepped directly into the portal.
