š At the Williams Wedding Hall
Jonathan stepped in front of Amber, shielding her with his body.
His voice was calmābut deadly cold.
Jonathan:
"Mr. William⦠from this moment onwardā¦
this woman is my responsibility." š”
The hall froze.
Jonathan:
"If you dare say one harsh word to herā
even by mistakeā
I won't hesitate.
I will burn this entire house downā¦
with you in it."
His grip tightened around Amber's trembling hand.
Jonathan:
"And don't you ever call her your daughter again."
Without another word, he pulled Amber out of the hall.
---
š Outside ā in the quiet courtyard
The tension was still thick in the air as Jonathan stopped walking.
He suddenly spun Amber around and pinned her gently against a tree.
Jonathan:
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to act rashly back there, I justā Iā"
He swallowed, flustered. "Hmmmā"
Before he could finish, Amber grabbed his collarā
āand kissed him deeply, her arms sliding around his neck.
Warm. Certain. Fearless.
Jonathan went blank.
Jonathan:
"W-What⦠was that forā¦?" š¶
Amber smirked, brushing her thumb across his lips.
Amber:
"It's your marriage gift." š
Her hand slowly slid down his chestā¦
down his shirtā¦
lowerā¦
Jonathan's breath caught.
Jonathan:
"A-Amberā! S-Stopā
that's for after marriage!" š±
Amber burst into laughter.
Amber:
"Idiot. We are already married." š¤£š¤£
Jonathan's face turned the color of a ripe tomato.
---
š Back to Joseph narrating
Joseph:
"Brother was so red that dayā
I swear even tomatoes would feel insulted." š¤£š¤£
The kids were dying of laughter.
Children:
"š¤£š¤£š¤£"
Eric turned to Justin with a teasing grin.
Eric:
"Like father, like son." š¤£
Justin elbowed him lightly, face pink.
Joseph continued dramatically:
Joseph:
"And for two full weeks after that, Jonathan bro couldn't even look Amber sis in the eyes without panicking." šš¤£
"He'd run away like a scared puppy whenever she smiled."
The kids wiped tears of laughter.
Joseph:
"But THEN⦠one dayā¦
everything changed."
He leaned forward, lowering his voice.
Joseph:
"That was the day⦠Jonathan finally stopped runningā¦
and something big happened between them."
