Later that night, everyone retreated to their rooms.
Joseph's Room
Lauran stormed in, her eyes blazing. "Didn't I tell you not to go with her? You know what happened before our marriage, Joseph! I'm speaking to you!" 😡
Before he could respond, she turned and left, leaving Joseph slumped on the bed, silent and defeated. 😭
Steve's Room
Steve crossed his arms, frowning playfully. "You're terrible at acting, WiFi."
Megan rolled her eyes but avoided his teasing. "Just… don't ask me anything right now." 😐
Steve softened, giving her a reassuring smile. "Okay. But whenever you're ready, you can tell me."
Megan nodded, a small smile forming as they embraced. 🥲
Mr. Devis' Room
Mr. Devis paced, clearly unsettled. "What happened to them?" 😕
Mrs. Devis, seated calmly, gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry, everything will be fine."
He blinked at her. "Huh… when did you become so positive?" 😏
"Shut up," she replied sharply, though her lips twitched with amusement. 😤
Jonathan's Room
Jonathan leaned against the wall, exhaling slowly. "So… you told them?" 😤
Amber, standing beside him, nodded. "Yep." 😐
"But why?" he asked, frustration flickering in his eyes. 😤
"To make sure they don't leave him… not even when we're not around." 😐
Jonathan's expression softened, a small smile breaking through. 🙂
The Children's Room
All four kids were finally settling down to sleep in the same room.
Thomas stared at the ceiling. "Do you think they'll be alright?" 😕
Justin, glancing at the wall beside him, murmured, "Maybe…" 😕
Lussy, looking the other way, added thoughtfully, "Feels like a tycoon is about to arrive…" 😕
Emily, resolute, folded her arms. "Whatever happens, we shouldn't be separated." 😤
The others nodded in agreement, settling in for the night. "Yep."
A quiet calm fell over the mansion, though outside, the world was anything but still. Inside, for tonight, at least, the family found a fragile peace.
