Justin's POV:
Joseph was talking, but his words felt bigger than the room.
Joseph:
"I don't know how to explain it… but Amber will know what anyone is thinking just by looking at them." 😏
"She wasn't an ordinary child. She was born with intelligence, confidence… and arrogance. If she made a decision, even God couldn't change it." 😎
"But at the same time… she was humble enough to hear another side of the story." 😎
The children listened, eyes wide.
Joseph continued, voice low:
"Devis family… if you're with her, you feel completely safe.
If you're against her… well… you feel like dying might be better than standing up to her." 😈
Children: "Huh… 😶"
Joseph:
"According to my knowledge, Jonathan is like fire…"
Thomas: "I know… water! 😁"
Joseph: "No… not water… gaslight. 😎"
He leaned in, a mischievous smile on his face.
"Just imagine what would happen if fire and gaslight collided… Boom. 💥"
Emily frowned.
"Jonathan uncle is a gentleman… why are you saying this, uncle?" 😤
Joseph waved her off.
"Don't underestimate Jonathan. Even if death itself stood in front of him, he would ask it politely for a favor.
He will smile, say 'Okay… but you can't win against me.' That's the dangerous man he is." 😎
"Now… imagine if they got married… just imagine. 😏"
Justin looked at Jonathan, sitting there, calm but burning with anger.
He wasn't scared—he should be—but he wasn't. 😎
And yet… as he looked down, he whispered to himself:
"Mummy… I am scared." 😱
Justin's small hands gripped the edge of the table. His heart raced.
He knew how dangerous Amber could be… and he knew how unstoppable Jonathan was.
And for a second, the world felt too big, too real… and he felt very, very small.
