Kai's POV
Instead of going to work, I drove to the nearest playground. Kei sat silently in the passenger seat, but when I pulled the car over in front of a children's playground, she immediately went out.
I followed her closely, watching her intently as I played with the car key in my hand.
She sat on the swing and then looked up at me. The sadness in her eyes slowly disappeared as she gave me a warm smile.
"How long has it been since we visited this playground?" She asked, smiling.
"I don't know." I inhaled and sat on the swing next to her. "Twenty years, probably?"
She chuckled. "That long. God, I miss the old days."
"Me too," I whispered. I miss the days when I used to play around and not worry about Father's expectations. I miss the days when I used to smile as I watched the sky. I miss the old days. I miss the old me.
"You were so small and the other kids used to bully you," she said and looked at me. "I used to protect you, but now you're protecting me."
