Facing such a powerful strike, even with the boost from Aleister, (Invoked Mechaba) still had a power ceiling due to its inherent limitations. Although it tried to resist this force, it was ultimately destroyed by (Humongous Hive Hegemon - Zexstagger)'s attack!
And Chumley's Life Points dropped significantly.
[Chumley: 4000 → 1700 LP]
However, after taking a hefty 2300 points of Battle Damage, Chumley laughed.
"My monster was destroyed, wasn't it? Gotcha!"
At the location where (Invoked Mechaba) was destroyed, the hexagram Magic Circle that Aleister had deployed when Summoning it reappeared. However, this Summoning Circle was now filled with cracks, and purple energy overflowed from it.
Marik, watching from the sidelines, showed no surprise at all and quipped, "As expected, my brother-in-law's 'pure' (Invoked) Archetype is about to stir up trouble again."
"When a card on my field is destroyed by battle or effect, I can Special Summon this card from my hand." Chumley held a card in his hand and placed it on his Duel Disk, causing the Magic Circle on the field to violently crack open. A figure, as if breaking through a seal, leaped out from within.
"From the depths of Purgatory, a rebellious song dedicated to an unyielding soul echoes eternally and manifests here! Appear!"
"—(Unchained Abomination)!"
You didn't expect this, Jesse Anderson, but I still have (Unchained) cards in my Deck! Let me give you a little Fiend-Type shock!
(Unchained Abomination), breaking free from its seal, landed before Chumley. Beside it, a purple fox-shaped Familiar made entirely of energy appeared, brimming with violent resentment.

Just when Jesse Anderson had finally managed to destroy (Invoked Mechaba) on Chumley's field, he didn't expect Chumley to be able to Special Summon such an impressive-looking monster again in his own turn. Due to the appearance of (Unchained Abomination), although Jesse Anderson still had two monsters on his field that hadn't attacked, the possibility of clearing Chumley's Life Points was lost.
However, what made Jesse Anderson slightly relieved was that while the (Unchained Abomination) on Chumley's field had a strong aura, it lacked the sense of a living soul compared to the monsters that appeared earlier. It was clear that Chumley hadn't awakened its Duel Monster Spirit, which greatly reduced the pressure it exerted on Jesse Anderson.
This was unavoidable. In truth, Chumley had only recently obtained the (Unchained Abomination) card. He pulled it from a card pack in the System Shop that was recently on sale, offering an increased chance for Fiend-Type Archetype Cards. Because he really wanted the Archetype featured on the promotional banner, Chumley spent a considerable amount of his stored DP.
While successfully collecting the desired Fiend-Type archetype, Chumley also incidentally obtained many other Fiend-Type cards, including (Unchained Abomination) from the (Unchained) archetype.
However, Chumley only managed to pull this one (Unchained Abomination) card. And although it unlocked the (Unchained) archetype, since (Unchained) itself primarily revolved around Link Summoning which hadn't appeared yet, Chumley had no intention of collecting the entire (Unchained) archetype. But this didn't stop him from casually adding this card to his Deck.
"When (Unchained Abomination) is successfully Special Summoned, I can activate its effect by discarding one card from my hand." As Chumley spoke, he sent a card from his hand to the Graveyard. "I can destroy one card on the field. This effect is a noble untargetable effect, but it doesn't really matter."
"Offer a lamentation as life perishes for the birth of a Kami! Void Hound Cannon!"
As Chumley discarded the card from his hand, the familiar imbued with malice beside (Unchained Abomination) suddenly spewed forth surging energy from its mouth. A torrent of darkness instantly engulfed (Humongous Hive Hegemon - Zexstagger), which had created the opening for (Unchained Abomination)'s appearance.
Although (Humongous Hive Hegemon - Zexstagger) was now a super powerful monster with 5800 Attack points due to the effect of (Talent Call Body Shredder), it possessed no resistance. (Humongous Hive Hegemon - Zexstagger), having no resistance to destruction effects, was instantly destroyed by (Unchained Abomination)'s effect as if it were made of paper.
Just as it had destroyed (Invoked Mechaba) by battle earlier.
"(Humongous Hive Hegemon)!" Jesse Anderson cried out as he watched his monster be destroyed, but he couldn't prevent it from being sent to the Graveyard. Looking at the menacing (Unchained Abomination) glaring at him, and then at his own two weak, powerless monsters on the field, Jesse Anderson did not continue attacking Chumley's (Grave Squirmer).
"The Battle Phase ends here. Then, in Main Phase 2, I set my last card from my hand and End Turn."
Jesse Anderson, his hand now empty, declared the end of his turn and looked at Chumley's field with a helpless smile. "As expected, Mr. Chumley truly lives up to his title of Duel King. My naive imagination thought I could defeat Mr. Chumley in that last turn."

As the Duel progressed to this point, Atem, who was watching, noticed something and casually remarked, "Jesse Anderson's strength is still limited."
"The strength of his Deck is one aspect, and another is that he lacks a card that can serve as a spiritual pillar. This means that when he, who can see Duel Monster Spirits despite not having one, Duels against a Duelist like Chumley, who is accompanied by many powerful spirits, he has to bear the pressure alone."
Atem paused, then continued, "Even for things he could actually do, because of this pressure, Jesse Anderson's reaction speed will be a step slower, unable to keep up with the high-speed Duel, and the actual effect of his operations will be greatly reduced."
"However, even though we already expected that Jesse Anderson wouldn't be Chumley's match, did you see the look in that kid's eyes?" Joey looked at Jesse Anderson and said, "Although he's saying things as if he's ready to give up, his eyes clearly show that he still wants to fight on."
"My Turn, Draw!" Chumley drew a card from his Deck, and like Joey, had already noticed the fighting spirit still burning in Jesse Anderson's eyes. "Even in this situation, you're still unwilling to admit defeat? Then, if you wish to duel until the very last moment, I shall bestow upon you an honorable final blow."
"Enter Battle Phase! Then, (Unchained Abomination) will attack (Blade Fly)!" Chumley commanded with a wave of his hand. "Purgatory Peerless Blazing Wave Cannon!"

*s1: Recently, I've been trying to fit (Unchained) cards into my pure Infernoid Deck in MD. After all, they're also Fiend-Type and their self-destruction fits into the (Skill Drain) strategy, but it's almost the end of the month and I still haven't reached Diamond.
*s2: Due to requests for extra chapters in the group, a complete chapter was split into two. Rounding up, this counts as an extra chapter (lol).
*s3: Someone previously asked if Jesse Anderson would give up Insect-Type monsters after getting (Crystal Beast)s. I can only say that Insect-Type monsters will continue to be in Jesse Anderson's future Decks in a special way.
(end of chapter)I think people don't understand it. I have a personal website where I post advanced free chapters — there are 10 new chapters per day, so you can check it out here: soollhooaf.com
