Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: A Gift for the Pope

Chapter 7: A Gift for the Pope

The Dantian that stored soul power was shattered with a single punch.

Yu Xiaogang was completely ruined, yet Qin Chuan did not choose to end his life.

Since Bibi Dong liked him so much and couldn't forget him…

How could Qin Chuan possibly allow them to part?

He struck again, ruthlessly crushing Yu Xiaogang's legs one after the other, the sickening sound echoing amid the horrified screams of the surrounding crowd.

Under the excruciating, heart-piercing pain, Yu Xiaogang finally passed out.

"You there—carry this trash to the Pope's Palace," Qin Chuan said coldly to several Wuhun City soldiers nearby, who stood frozen in shock. "Tell them it's my gift to the Pope."

The soldiers quickly nodded, not daring to defy him.

Qin Chuan paused, then added, "One more thing."

He leaned in and whispered to one of the soldiers, "Just ask the Pope… is she satisfied?"

His lips curled into a sinister smile, laced with bitter sarcasm.

"I broke her old lover's legs. He'll never be able to leave her again. Ask her… is she happy now?"

"Also—ask her if her ex is being considerate enough."

The soldier's face turned ghostly pale. His entire body trembled.

Could he really say that? If he actually delivered those words to the Pope, wouldn't it mean certain death?

"Don't worry. The Pope won't kill you," Qin Chuan said, patting the soldier on the shoulder.

He knew Bibi Dong cared deeply about her public image. For the sake of her long-term unification plan, she had been painstakingly maintaining a carefully crafted persona. She would never harm a mere foot soldier and risk tarnishing her reputation.

After settling everything, the long-suppressed rage in Qin Chuan's chest finally eased. A weight had been lifted. He felt significantly better.

Amid the countless gazes of awe and fear, he turned and calmly walked out of Wuhun City.

The next stop: the Shrek Academy team.

Did he really think he could just destroy Yu Xiaogang in public and have nothing to do with Tang San and the other Shrek Seven Devils afterward?

Rather than waiting for them to bite him back someday, Qin Chuan always lived by one principle: Cut the grass and dig up the roots.

Leave no future trouble.

But just as he passed through the city gate, his footsteps slowly halted.

An old man was leaning against the city wall, his presence like a mountain.

"Did the Great Priest send you?" Qin Chuan asked, narrowing his eyes.

"I suppose so," the old man replied, his eyes sharp and unwavering as he approached.

"Tell him this," Qin Chuan said after a moment of silence, "Even though I've left the Spirit Hall, he knows my character. I owe him and the Hall for their kindness and teachings. If something ever happens to Spirit Hall, I'll come back."

From childhood, his teacher had been Pope Qian Xunji in name. But in truth, the one who raised and taught him with the most care was Qian Daoliu.

Qian Daoliu had always been good to him.

And so, the person Qin Chuan least wanted to confront upon leaving Spirit Hall was none other than Qian Daoliu.

Luckily…

He hadn't come in person.

Qin Chuan felt both relief and a touch of disappointment.

"The Great Priest expected that," said the old man, stepping closer. "He knew he couldn't stop you."

This was Qianjun Douluo, the Sixth Priest of the Spirit Hall. A burly, rugged man—and a Level 96 Super Douluo.

"What does the Great Priest want, then?" Qin Chuan asked, puzzled.

"He wants to know… Are you leaving to seek the path to godhood?"

Becoming a god—breaking through Level 100, transcending life and death—was the ultimate goal of every Titled Douluo.

But how many had succeeded over the countless years?

Qin Chuan nodded silently.

"I think I do have that idea."

Qianjun Douluo smiled, a touch of emotion in his eyes.

"Ah, to be young again."

"When I was your age, I too dreamed of becoming a god… but in the end, I had to accept fate."

He sighed deeply, the weight of age and missed opportunities heavy in his voice.

Then, his tone grew serious.

"The Great Priest asked me to pass along a message."

"In the southernmost part of the continent lies a city—Hanhai City. Beyond it is the vast Nine Star Sea. In the deepest part of that sea… lies Sea God Island."

"He has reason to believe that there's a divine inheritance on Sea God Island. And compared to other places, it's the least dangerous."

"You can go and try."

It was a rare and valuable suggestion—one that moved Qin Chuan.

As a time traveler, he already knew about Sea God Island and the divine inheritance it held. But Qian Daoliu didn't know that.

And yet, despite how precious and secretive such knowledge was, Qian Daoliu had still chosen to share it with him.

He had gone above and beyond.

(Note: Qian Daoliu knew of more than just Sea God Island. But the Angel God inheritance was for his granddaughter. Even if others were compatible, he would never allow anyone to challenge her for it. As for the Shura inheritance—its risks were extreme. That's why Qianjun Douluo's message emphasized that Sea God Island was the least dangerous divine inheritance currently known.)

"I understand," Qin Chuan said with a nod. "Please thank the Great Priest for me."

Qianjun Douluo smiled, his eyes flashing.

"The Great Priest also reminded you that although you're already a Titled Douluo, the Nine Star Sea is full of dangers. There are many 100,000-year-old soul beasts out there."

"And land-based soul masters are severely weakened in the sea."

"If you're truly going to Sea God Island, you'll first need to make a stop in Tiandou City."

"There's a treasure kept by the royal family there—the Vast Sea Universe Cover. It's their national treasure."

Qin Chuan was once again stunned.

The Vast Sea Universe Cover?

He hadn't expected even that to be known by Qian Daoliu.

But in truth, he had already planned to retrieve the Vast Sea Universe Cover. There was a deeper secret behind it.

"I understand," Qin Chuan replied.

And then, for some reason, a certain someone came to mind.

A delicate, childish little face.

A glutinous little dumpling who once followed him everywhere…

She would occasionally raise her head and whisper, "Brother Qin Chuan…"

They hadn't seen each other in over ten years.

The last time was the day he married Bibi Dong.

That day, she had quietly set off for Tiandou.

Snow filled the sky, soaking her thin shoulders and freezing her delicate face.

That day had been a sea of red.

So red that all he saw was the beauty of a wedding dress.

And that day had also been filled with a deep, lonely sorrow.

Her sorrow.

She had left without a word. No one accompanied her. No one saw her off.

Her tiny footprints stretched far outside Wuhun City, eventually buried under heavy snow.

Her figure disappeared.

Qian Renxue.

"Go on then. Head to Tiandou City—the young miss is waiting for you."

Qianjun Douluo smiled meaningfully.

"I will," Qin Chuan replied, "but not just yet. There are still some things I need to do first."

He turned and walked away.

As his figure receded into the distance, Qianjun Douluo chuckled to himself.

"The Great Priest truly is like a prophet…"

"A few words were all it took to send that brat running to Tiandou City."

He laughed again, his tone amused.

"Once you fall into the trap of gentle affection… it's not so easy to escape."

"Just look at the two old fogies from the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect. Even they couldn't resist staying, willing to work as glorified guards…"

"Heh."
