In a small town call otun, In the quaint city of Willowbrook, nestled between rolling hills and shimmering rivers, where it's forbidden to have a twin child. This comes after the king of the town call kan give a death judgement to a twins mother.
Once upon a time, there was a woman call Levi in otun town lost her husband to a civil war when she was having a month pregnant. Levi do all what it takes to survive the whole months and later give birth to two healthy boys. She was so happy to welcome this beautiful souls that arrives to her life, she name them Kelly and Nelly, Levi keep nurturing this two toddlers. She would do anything for them to survive because she believe they will make her future bright.
Levi keep struggling hard to make a living, when Nelly and Kelly was 17years old, they have been helping their mother in house and in farm.
One faithful day Kelly and Nelly went to the farm alone without their mother, because their mother was busy at home preparing what to sell in an upcoming market day. When Kelly and Nelly arrives at their farm. They discover that a white cow which have been lost from its owners garden was in their farm eating their corn. Kelly and Nelly ran towards the cow to pursue it away. After the cow went away they started doing their work in the farm.
After a long day and hard work in the farm, Kelly and Nelly went home to meet their mother, their mother had already prepared dinner for them. While having dinner, they both tell their mother about what happens in the farm. And their mother hail them for their bravery act and also thank them for being an amazing children, there mother then encourage them to keep working hard and motivate them to be the man of themselves. Their mother make them believe so much in hard work and teach them against stealing.
After the meal, they thank their mother for the words and promise to make her proud. They went to their room and sleep, when it's the following day Kelly and Nelly has wake up earlier to help their mom to pack some crops and maize to sell in the market because it's the market day. They help their mother in carrying the goods and other luggages and leave for the market. When they're on their way with their mother, Nelly and Kelly whisper to themselves and remind their mother about the unfinished work they left yesterday before they left farm. They both agree to go and complete their work and also cut some firewood which they will use to cook later in the evening.
Their mother agree with them and told them to go after they have put down the goods and the luggages when they arrives at the market. Upon reaching the market they look wired and their mother told them to rest for a while, their mother start setting up the goods she wanted to sell for the day. Tho they haven't had anything for breakfast and their mother buy beans cake for them to eat while resting, after eating they both slept off and their mother didn't disturb them at all.
She already know they need to sleep and rest due to the hard work they had in the farm yesterday, so she decided not to wake them up. She continue selling and attend to customers. After a while Kelly firstly wake up and yan, while Nelly is still sleeping. His mother told him not to wake his brother, Kelly join their mother in attending to customers and selling. Before Nelly could wake up it was already afternoon and time as gone. Know to them their mother won't allow them to go to farm inside a very hot sun. So their mother huge them to go in the following day.
They use the opportunity to hawk their mother's goods around the market for sale, they sell all their goods and crops and left the market for the day.
The following day, Kelly and Nelly have prepare for farm while their mother was preparing breakfast. After having their breakfast they both carry their crop basket and cutlass to began their journey to the farm. Their mother told them that she will also join them when she's done with the house chores. They went away.
When they arrives at the farm, they discovered that all their cassava trees, plants and maize has been destroy, they noticed that one animal has enter there farm and eat almost all their crops and plants. Kelly and Nelly was so angry to see this in their farm. When they're checking on those crops Nelly discovered that the same cow they pursue the other day is at the edge of their farm continue eating. Nelly call Kelly's attention to it and they both angrily ran over the cow and use their cutlass on the cow.
They use their cutlass to hurt the cow so much that the cow was unable to work again, while beating the cow a villager that was passing by saw what Kelly and Nelly was doing to the cow and decided to ran into the village and inform king kan about what he saw. Unknowing to them the king has been looking for this cow for over 7days which has been lost among other cows.
The villager inform the kind about everything he saw and the kind angrily sent four of his guard to follow the villager to the scene and bring both Nelly and Kelly to the palace. They all left for the scene. Kelly and Nelly mother had already arrives at the farm and her sons have given her report of how the incident started and their mother have also remember she was told about these particular cow earlier, the mother remember when some buyers are discussing about the king lost cow when Kelly and Nelly were sleeping. She know it might or be the same cow they're looking for in the palace.
Levi ask if someone has seen what happen, they said nobody sees them not knowing someone already reported what happens, Levi quickly huge her sons to clean up and ran away from the farm because she knows that king kan is an aggressive and powerful king spiritually and might come for them anytime he notice what happens in their farm.
While they are cleaning up the bloody leafs and place, Kelly notice some different legs sound and noise coming from a far. He quickly call his mother and his brother attentions amd they all heard what's coming towards them. Their mother quickly silently told them to hide or ran away because she already know that they have been caught.
Kelly and Nelly ran away to hide somewhere inside the farm, the cow weak cow was on the bloody floor. The villager and the king guard arrives at the scene and saw only Levi with the weak cow in the pool of blood. Levi already known is a very bad day for her and her sons, one of they guard slap Levi immediately without any interrogation.
One guard said "so you boldly harm kind kan's cow" What a brave woman'
the other guard said We have been looking for this cow for over seven days don't you know?
Levi started crying and begging pitifully.
The villager ask "where are your sons? Because they're the one I saw right here slauthering the King's cow. Where are they? She ask again
Levi answered it's not my sons that slaughter the cow they are not here in the farm she insisted
The lead guard then hold Levi and told the other three guard to know how to carry the weak cow to the palace, while he drag her to the king. The villager then follow them to the palace. When Kelly and Nelly notice they have went away with their mother. They came out and started tracing them without anyone noticing them. They are watching the guard dragging their mother to the palace while he's shouting and beating her on their way, while their mother keep begging and crying for mercy.
When they arrive the palace the king angrily slap and match her, King kan then see his weak cow which is about to die. The kind then get more angry and say "you are so stupid for doing this to my cow because of what? The cow eat your crops and so? Is that the reason my you slaughter my cow with cutlass? Are you better than my cows? My cows are leaving a very good life than you. You must pay for this sin that you committed. You must pay in a very hard way. Levi keep crying and asking for mercy, the king then ordered the guard to firstly beat Levi merslessly with cold water and then put Levi inside a punishing cage (A very small cage with plenty nails inside) for three hours. King kan angrily enter his palace to sit.
They take Levi away and 3 guards keep flogging her at the palace backyard, they flog her till Levi faint and then put her inside the punishing cage. After view minutes Levi wake up inside an horrible small cage with some nails inside. She started crying for help as those nail keep hitting her body in an uncomfortable posture. Kelly and Nelly was at home crying as they saw their mother suffering for their sin. After three hours, they then release Levi according to king kan order. They kick Levi out of the palace with her clothes soak with her blood. Levi cannot work normally due to different wound and has no energy to work home, is already dark at night.
Kelly and Nelly was so worried and taught they should try and sneak out of the house to check if their mother has been released. Kelly and Nelly keep working silently with foot so anyone won't notice them because the news is already over the town about what they did and what happen to their mother in the afternoon. They keep walking towards the palace, they notice something rolling and moving slowly on the ground, they're so scared because every where is already dark, they don't have any idea what the thing is, they slowly move closer and closer to it. It was there mother (Levi) groaning on the floor and battling with her life in pains. They listen the sound hear the voice of their mother groaning and crying in pains on the floor.
They quickly run to meet her where she's pain, they were so sad to see their mother in this condition with multiple injuries around her body. Levi see that it was Kelly and Nelly she feel little better, she feels several pains all over her body as they are touching her. Kelly told Nelly to ran home and bring over the wheelbarrow they are using to pack crops in the farm to carry their mother, Nelly ran home immediately to bring the wheelbarrow. They carry their mother on the wheelbarrow while they push her towards house. When they enter house, they carry their mother and lay her down on the mat, Kelly was so angry and said "why will the kind did this to our mother because of his cow that ate our crop? Are will not supposed to punish the cow more than that?" Nelly answered "The crop we've been nurturing all this while" is animal now better than woman being in this village? Our king is such an evil person for doing this." Nelly cried..
They off her clothes and clean up her wound with clothes and warm water. They made their mother a meal to eat for their mother to have some strength. Their mother was unable to eat very well, she took little out of it and manage to sleep a little bit. Kelly and Nelly couldn't sleep they watch over their mother while she was sleeping. They were so sad to see her in such condition. In the following morning they suddenly while taking care of their mother they heard a louder knock on their door, Nelly opened the door and saw two king guard.
The guard says, "The king Cow is died, where is your mother? "
