Spark smiled and lifted the Prismatic Amber. Presenting it to the fairy.
"Alright there, Honey. It's time for... Evolution."
She understood instantly. With a chirp of eagerness, she touched the Amber. The crystal pulsed violently. Drawing her into its chaotic swirl of light and energy.
Spark watched. Monitoring the process with his Soulcraft sense. This was a significant jump for her.
Several minutes later... The light subsided. Honey reappeared. She was slightly larger. Her form was more defined. A tiny young woman in her prime. With a pair of colorful energy wings.
The colors she radiated from her wings were no longer limited to seven. They flowed and shifted. Encompassing a spectrum far wider. Richer. She was the embodiment of pure elemental chaos. The controlled one.
Spark took and opened The Fairy Grimoire from his Spatial Belt. And checked her status information.
[Name: Honey]
[Type: Omnielemental Fairy]
[Stage: Prime (Tier 3)]
[Growth: 0%]
[Loyalty: 100%]
[Personalities: Affectionate, Loyal]
[Growth Item: Pure Honey]
[Shared Talent: Instant Casting]
[Ability: Soulcraft Crest - Elemental Coating]
[Evolution Paths: MAX]
Prime Stage. An adult fairy. Tier 3. Her final species evolution. She wouldn't be changing form again. She could only grow stronger into the next tiers within this type.
But, she was an Omnielemental Fairy. One of the highest grade fairies. So, it wouldn't matter at all.
Her crest magic was still Elemental Coating. But the number of element was no longer restricted to seven.
With Elemental Coating, Spark could imbue his attacks and defenses with any element. Fire, ice, lightning, earth, wind, water, light, dark... and countless other known elements. The versatility was immense.
And her growth item. It was back to Pure Honey. Simple Pure Honey. Something that could be easily acquired and produced in abundance. It wouldn't be cheap. But money was the least of Spark's worry.
Next, Holy. His light fairy. She had a rare two-stage evolution path laid out. Spark had already determined the chosen evolutions for her.
First, she would evolve from Light Fairy to Sacred Fairy. Using Sacred Jasmine. Then, from Sacred Fairy to Celestial Fairy. Using Starlight Dust. He possessed both materials there in his vault.
He summoned Holy from his other soulcraft tattoo. She appeared as a gentle baby fairy, covered in soft light. Calming and serene. Unlike Honey's affectionate manner, Holy was quiet, contemplative.
"Holy. Evolution sequence." Spark held out the Sacred Jasmine. A delicate plant radiating pure, warm light.
Holy touched the Jasmine. It dissolved into golden motes. Enveloping her.
After a few minutes, her form changed. Becoming more refined. More ethereal. A tiny teenage girl with energy wings. Radiating light that felt intrinsically pure healing. She was now a Sacred Fairy.
Without pause, Spark presented the Starlight Dust. A handful of glittering particles. Each one seemed like a captured fragment of celestial radiance.
Holy accepted the Dust. The motes of Starlight Dust flared. Merging with her current form. The light intensified. Changing hue to a pure, brilliant white. Edged with silver starlight.
Her form became even more refined. Still tiny in size. Yet look mature and pristine clear. Almost crystalline.
Spark looked at her information in his Fairy Grimoire.
[Name: Holy]
[Type: Celestial Fairy]
[Stage: Prime (Tier 3)]
[Growth: 0%]
[Loyalty: 100%]
[Personalities: Calm]
[Growth Item: Moonstone Dust]
[Shared Talent: Mana Regeneration]
[Ability: Soulcraft Crest - Celestial Healing]
[Evolution Paths: -]
Another final species evolution. Celestial Fairy. Prime Stage. Tier 3. She had also reached her pinnacle form. One of the highest grade fairies.
Her Shared Talent remained Mana Regeneration. A consistently useful ability. Her Growth Item was now Moonstone Dust. Significantly more expensive than Pure Honey. But it was something he could still easily acquire. Not bad.
The critical upgrade was her crest magic. Celestial Healing. The description said it healed soul, mind, and body from injury and affliction. Healing all three aspects? Incredible.
This wasn't just healing wounds. This was also mending fractured souls. Clearing mental contamination. Restoring life force.
And the efficiency boost? At least quintuple compared to her old Healing Light. Healing any injury now only used a sixth of the mana previously needed. This was definitely a vital asset in the long run.
Two fairies evolved to their final forms. Both reaching Tier 3. Good progress.
He still had one empty slot for the next fairy. One more acquisition to contract. There were many fairy babies in his Fairy Grimoire now. But he had determined his next fairy. The Devil Fairy.
He reopened the Fairy Grimoire. Flipping through the pages, he located the entry for the Devil Fairy. It depicted a baby fairy with dark colored energy wings. It was small but radiating black creepy aura.
He activated the summoning rune on the page. A swirling vortex of black and crimson energy opened in the air before him. From it emerged a tiny figure.
It was undeniably a fairy baby. But her energy wings were like those of a bat. Her skin was pale grey. And faint, red light pulsed intensely within her eyes. She hovered silently. Observing him.
She radiated no specific emotion. No affection like Honey. No calm aura like Holy. She was expressionless. Silent.
Spark extended a hand. Focusing his intention. And then, he channeled his Soulcraft Energy into his finger. Causing a point on its tip to glow white. Pulsating in comforting heartbeat.
The Devil Fairy reached the light. Without any expression. Her black glow and Spark's white light intertwined in a strange yin-yang light show.
Spark felt his connection toward the Devil Fairy strengthened gradually. Until it became an unbreakable bond. They were now Soulcraft partners.
"You need a name." Spark stated. Observing the silent creature. He considered options. Something ironic felt appropriate for a Devil Fairy now bound to him. "Heaven. Your name is Heaven."
The fairy tilted its head slightly. It didn't react verbally. But Spark felt the acceptance through the bond. Heaven. A Devil Fairy named Heaven. Ironic. Yet, it was somehow... satisfying.
He checked her new status within his Soulcraft Core.
[Name: Heaven]
[Type: Devil Fairy]
[Stage: Baby (Tier 1)]
[Growth: 8%]
[Loyalty: 100%]
[Personalities: Silent]
[Growth Item: Black Blood]
[Shared Talent: Enhanced Charisma]
[Ability: Soulcraft Crest - Devil Contract (Blank)]
[Evolution Paths: ...]
Baby Stage. Tier 1. Predictable. Given she was a new contract. Loyalty was maxed. Naturally. Her personality listed simply as 'Silent'. Interesting.
Her Shared Talent was Enhanced Charisma. It was not his primary focus. But an increase in natural charm couldn't hurt. It wasn't essential. But it was not bad. Quite a decent passive boost.
Her Growth Item was Black Blood. Not common. It should be the blood of Fallen-kin. A type of corrupted monsters. Fallen Lizards in Nightmoss Swamp should possess this kind of blood.
The problem was just... nobody hunted Fallen Lizards. They weren't strong nor that hard to defeat. But none of its body parts could fetch high price.
Well, it seemed that he needed to post the request for Black Blood materials. If he put high enough prize, there must be some people who would be willing to hunt the lizards.
It wouldn't be as easy to acquire as Pure Honey or even Moonstone Dust. But it was not even rare. It was definitely acquirable with enough money and the right contact.
The most important thing Spark wanted from the fairy was her magic crest. Devil Contract (Blank). The description in the Grimoire and the information flowing through the bond confirmed its potential.
It was basically a free-choice skill acquisition feature. First, he just needed to... find a willing, or more practically, an unconscious creature. Using the skill on that creature basically means...
He could replace the '(Blank)' with any skill the creature possessed. Making it a usable ability for him. And he could replace it whenever he wanted. This was incredibly versatile.
If he needed an Underwather Breathing skill? He just needed to catch and contract a suitable 'fish'. Need an ability to fly? Contract a suitable 'bird'. Replace the Underwater Breathing with Flight. Need a specific resistance? Contract something immune to the specific point. Replace the previous skill.
The potential possibilities were vast. Limited only by the creatures he could find and subdue. It was the most direct and convenient path to acquiring the skills he desired.
Spark looked at the three fairies hovering around him. Honey, vibrant and elemental. Holy, serene and healing. Heaven, silent and brimming with potential.
Two Tier 3 fairies and a promising Tier 1. His Soulcraft power felt significantly amplified by their presence. And growth.
He had also successfully upgraded his Framepath to Tier 3. Pushing his physical might and speed to incredible levels.
What he was lacking now was just his Technomind upgrade. He planned to upgrade his Power Rifle and Spatial Belt first. And then, when his sky ship was ready, he would integrate it. Turning the sky ship into his Technomind Gear.
The pieces were falling into place. His power base was solidifying. Expanding. It wouldn't be long before he soared to the sky. Finding treasures above the white cloud.
