Chapter 17 - A Sudden Inspiration During the Experiment

In reality, Yang Chakra does possess similar effects. The Healing Palm Technique, for example, utilizes Yang Chakra.

Of course, excessive Yang Chakra can disrupt the target's Chakra flow, leading to unconsciousness.

Amemiya Kenichi had nearly killed that Hyuga Clan bastard several times before.

"What do you plan to research?" Orochimaru glanced curiously at his disciple, knowing Kenichi always had peculiar ideas.

"Teacher, I simply want to study that previous case," Amemiya Kenichi replied with an innocent smile. What harm could he possibly intend?

Just to give his enemies lung cancer, that's all.

Orochimaru paused, recalling the case Kenichi mentioned. He couldn't help but eye his disciple—this kid's heart was darker than he'd realized.

Keeping him away from that rotten Konoha was the right choice.

Meanwhile, Amemiya Kenichi was already scheming. Since I'm defecting from Konoha with Orochimaru, I can finally build my own lab outside the village. Wait, why build it myself?

Since Teacher Orochimaru is so rich, getting him to set up a lab for me shouldn't be a problem, right?

After getting his supplies from Teacher Orochimaru, Amemiya Kenichi headed to the lab to continue his research.

"But I'm almost out of cigarettes. I'll need to restock soon," Kenichi muttered, rubbing his chin. He casually slammed a surge of Chakra into the test subject before him.

With no need to worry about killing the subject—it was missing only one hand and otherwise perfectly healthy—Kenichi's experiments grew bolder.

"What are you doing?" Orochimaru asked, entering the lab. He stared at the scene before him with a strange look, unsure how to react. It was like walking in on a madman.

"Doing an experiment," Kenichi replied matter-of-factly. "What else would I be doing? Slacking off?"

Orochimaru pinched the bridge of his nose.

"So, why did you have to cut open his chest?" Orochimaru's feelings were complicated. The man was still alive, Orochimaru could see him breathing, practically begging for death.

"To observe more closely, of course," Amemiya Kenichi replied matter-of-factly. If you can't see through the skin, why not just split him open?

And to be fair, it had worked. At least now Amemiya Kenichi could precisely target the lungs with nicotine.

Well, if the guy had been a smoker to begin with, he could have skipped this step entirely.

"...Fine," Orochimaru said with a sigh.

Amemiya Kenichi watched his teacher leave with a puzzled look, then turned back to his experiment. He felt he was close to a breakthrough.

Another consumable gone, but it was worth it. Now I can accurately deliver nicotine to the lungs without even opening him up.

The real challenge is getting Yang Chakra to affect the target cells. Every time I try, it makes his lungs go haywire.

No, something's wrong. After getting too worked up, the test subject's heart rate is acting up. Is this respiratory alkalosis?

Amemiya Kenichi set down his pen, watching the test subject with keen interest.

The subject's heart was racing, their lips trembled uncontrollably, and their face was pale. Kenichi instantly diagnosed it as a respiratory syndrome caused by overventilation of the lungs.

This was partly his own fault. After all, he now possessed Senju Hashirama's physique, with an excessive amount of Yang Chakra coursing through him. Lacking proper training, he couldn't control the amount of Yang Chakra he generated.

"Well, this is a pleasant surprise," Amemiya Kenichi mused, recording his observation. "But respiratory alkalosis shouldn't be a problem for a ninja."

"Wait a minute," he thought. "If Yang Chakra can stimulate internal organs, what if I applied it to the heart?" Intrigued, he decided to run another experiment. He still had plenty of supplies, so there was no need to worry about running out.

Then, unsurprisingly, it happened.

The mute cleaners in the lab expertly dragged the body out to bury it. They were numb; in just one afternoon, they'd buried eight people in this lab.

They stared at the lab and the young man inside, their legs trembling. How could this guy seem even more terrifying than Lord Orochimaru?

Meanwhile, Amemiya Kenichi was completely unaware of the psychological trauma he was inflicting on others. He was deep in thought.

The excessive injection of Yang Chakra had indeed produced the effect he'd envisioned. The heart became abnormally active, then raced uncontrollably, leading to sudden cardiac death.

It seemed perfect.

"But it's not very practical," Amemiya Kenichi muttered, shaking his head. "Ninjas aren't fools." This technique would have been a silent killing art in his previous life, but it wouldn't work here.

Unless the target was an ordinary civilian without any ninja talent.

But if that were the case, Amemiya Kenichi wouldn't need such a method. A single shuriken would suffice.

No ninja would ever just stand by and let someone pump that much chakra into their heart.

Overall, he still needed to improve his technique. Unless he could figure out how to rapidly infuse massive amounts of chakra into a ninja's body.

Of course, he'd also need to find some ninja to experiment on.

"For the sake of science and the advancement of ninjutsu, please sacrifice yourselves," Amemiya Kenichi said as he went to find his teacher.

The test subjects Orochimaru had provided were all ordinary people, not ninja. Maybe his teacher thought he didn't need them.

But he really did!

"Those ordinary people aren't enough?" Orochimaru was already numb. How could this disciple burn through test subjects so quickly?

It was faster than even he could manage—completely absurd.

"Well, Teacher, you know ordinary people and ninja are different," Kenichi said diplomatically, though the real issue was chakra.

Chakra was the Ninja World's most unique power, the very thing that made ninja extraordinary.

"I've got a Genin here. Use him sparingly," Orochimaru said, pinching the bridge of his nose before reluctantly agreeing.

He was also deeply curious about those strange cells. What were they, and how could they be so similar to the First Hokage's cells?
