Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 – Rebirth

"Death is inevitable. But did it have to be so stupid?"

Those were the final words of Yuki Sakamoto, 22 years old, full-fledged otaku, single by choice (a lie), and proud owner of the uncanny ability to watch three anime shows at once while eating instant noodles. His end came on a Saturday morning, exactly the way he always feared: ridiculously.

The plan was simple: climb onto a swivel chair, grab a pack of Cup Noodles from the top shelf, and return to his Overlord marathon without missing the opening. What he didn't predict was the chair spinning like a rogue Beyblade, sending him face-first into the carpet.

Game over. Literally.

When he opened his eyes, Yuki found himself in a completely white space. Like, really white. No doors, no windows, and definitely no emergency noodles. It looked like a mix between the Paint welcome screen and the existential void that hits after finishing an anime with no second season.

"Hi, you're dead."

The voice came from a floating old man with a long beard, glowing robes, and a transparent tablet in his hands. His nametag simply read: "God." No last name, no divine ID. Just "God."

"Uh… hi?"

"Yes, you're dead. Tried grabbing noodles while wearing an Overlord cosplay…"

God chuckled.

"…and fell head-first. I mean, creative."

Yuki blushed.

"It—it wasn't a cosplay, it was the official Ainz Edition armor! And it was an accident! I was hungry!"

"I noticed. You landed face-first on a Megumin Weekly magazine. A modern classic."

God shrugged.

"Anyway, let's get to the point. Most people end up here for more noble reasons. But you racked up some good karma: didn't spoil endings online, weren't a jerk on forums, and saved that cat stuck in an air conditioner fan. That's enough for a reincarnation with three wishes. And before you ask—yes, it's just like in isekai stories."

Yuki lit up like an RGB LED on max brightness.

"YES!!! I knew being an otaku would pay off! Finally, my moment has come! Waifus and epic arcs await!"

God opened the "Wishes" app on his tablet and raised an eyebrow.

"Easy there, kid. Three wishes. No stacking effects, no wishing for more wishes. System rules. The last guy who tried that turned into a slime."

Yuki took a deep breath, mentally reviewing every anime he'd seen, every fanfic he'd read, and every game he'd finished—including that obscure RPG where he spent three hours customizing his character's eyebrows.

"First wish: I want to reincarnate into the Overlord universe, with full knowledge of the story, events, characters… everything! Anime, light novels, spin-offs, secret dates, untranslated doujins—EVERYTHING!"

God typed something on the tablet.

"Approved. You'll be reborn in 2128, ten years before the Great Transfer to the New World. Here comes the challenge: survive until then. And yes, you'll know all the spoilers before Momonga."

Yuki smiled like he just pulled a 5-star character from a gacha.

"I accept! Now, second wish: I want an ability that lets me rewrite ONE rule of reality per day. Like… a simple but powerful temporary change. Nothing world-breaking. I'm an otaku, not a JoJo villain."

"Smart. Got an example?"

"Sure: 'I rewrite the rule that this golem is immune to magic to make him vulnerable to my magic for 10 seconds.' Or 'gravity only affects my enemies within five meters.' Something creative, so the author can use it when he's out of ideas."

God smiled in approval.

"Now you're thinking like a system admin. Approved. Ability granted. Just one change per day, temporary effects, and no tampering with absolute rules like 'death doesn't exist' or 'I'm invincible.'"

"Fair. I don't want to be a god—just a player with a modded patch."

"And your last wish?"

"I want my body and mind to be perfectly adapted to the new world. Strength, reflexes, endurance, intelligence, memory… maxed out to human limits, but nothing supernatural. No superpowers, no dragon blood. Just… the best humanity could be if we didn't spend so much time playing Genshin Impact."

God typed a bit more.

A loading bar appeared in the air: "Creating character Yuki Sakamoto v2.0…", followed by: "Do not shut down the multiverse during installation."

"Very well, Yuki. Your wishes have been recorded. Your new body is ready. Your knowledge has been uploaded. And your ability will be called—"

"Reality Script."

"…Reality Script it is. Creative. Now go. And try not to die again, alright?"

"I promise. And I also promise never to stand on a swivel chair again."

A white light surrounded Yuki. He felt his body dissolve and rebuild at the same time—like a system update with a reboot, balance patch, and UI redesign.

When he opened his eyes again, he was lying in an absurdly comfortable bed. A display above showed the year: 2128. The room had modern decor, an instant ramen machine beside him, and a screen flashing the title of a game: YGGDRASIL – Beta.

Yuki sat up slowly, blinking.

"I'm… in the Overlord world. Before everything happens. Before Ainz becomes the lord of death. Before Albedo's questionable obsession. Before the lizard sex!"

He looked at his hands, felt the clarity of his mind, the lightness of his body… and a huge smile formed on his face.

"Ten years before the transfer… full knowledge, a reality-rewriting skill, and a perfect body. Not bad at all."

He stood up.

"Ainz, Nazarick, Re-Estize, Slane Theocracy… no one is safe. But who said I want to destroy them?"

His eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Maybe… I just want to see what happens when a new player joins the table. And swaps the cards."

He laughed to himself.
