Emily and Link's clothing today was very similar, both wore sweatshirts on top and casual pants on the bottom, a Muggle style of dress, and even the color of their clothes was exactly the same.
Since Madam Flamel often wore Muggle clothing to play in the Muggle world, old Krell actually didn't find anything strange about Link and Emily's attire.
But he still said, "Uh, you two… are going out?"
"Yes, Grandpa Krell," Emily said with a smile. "Link invited me to Diagon Alley to buy things for the new semester."
Krell raised his eyebrows and said, "Oh! Then I won't bother you two! Hope you have fun!"
After saying that, Krell left the room, and as he passed by Link, he gave Link a "well done" look.
Only after Krell left did Link finally move closer, smile, and ask Emily, "Is Mr. Victoria okay now?"
"When I just returned, he was very sad, but now his emotions have stabilized."
Listening to Emily's words, Link also nodded in shared understanding.
A father finding out that his precious daughter has been taken is always hard to accept. If it were him, he'd probably feel the same.
The two chatted idly for a while, then Emily finally noticed the densely arranged embryos neatly placed inside the suitcase. She asked curiously, "What is this?"
"Some little tricks," Link closed the suitcase, "to prevent some possible troubles."
Upon hearing that, Emily looked deeply at Link and didn't continue asking.
But with her staring so intently, Link eventually still explained the entire matter of the "Skar embryos" in detail.
Only then did a smile appear on Emily's face.
She didn't care what Link was going to do with those "embryos"; what she cared about was whether Link was willing to tell her the truth.
Smiling, Emily took Link's arm and said, "Then let's set off."
The two walked into the fireplace with smiles. Accompanied by the characteristic crackling and popping of Floo Powder, they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron.
Unlike last time Link came, the Leaky Cauldron during the day was very lively, with noisy guests everywhere, and the air was filled with the scent of frosted pies.
"Link! You finally arrived!"
As soon as Link and Emily stepped out of the fireplace, Cedric and John came over with smiles to greet them.
They were also invited by Link to come shop for the new semester's supplies together.
And as soon as Emily saw John, she finally understood why Link specifically asked her to wear Muggle clothes to go shopping today.
Because John was a Muggle-born wizard. Surely this was Link considering John's feelings.
Smiling at Link, Emily didn't say anything more.
Link, meanwhile, smiled and gave Cedric and John each a hug, "Congratulations on becoming Prefect, Cedric."
"Thanks!"
Cedric responded with a smile, though the smile looked somewhat rehearsed and stiff, he must have said thanks countless times by now.
Seeing this, John impatiently said, "Enough already, don't say that stuff. Cedric becoming Prefect was a given. He's not like some people who care too much about things like this."
"Some people?"
"You know who I'm talking about," John blinked and said, "Percy Weasley!"
"Hm? You saw the Weasleys?"
"That's right, they were just here. But they've already left, with Harry Potter."
John said with some disgust. "You should be glad you didn't see Percy Weasley's smug look just now. It was so disgusting."
Hearing this, Link chuckled. Percy Weasley was the oddball of the Weasley family.
He craved power so much that in the original timeline, he even betrayed his family for it. Link could completely imagine what kind of face Percy would wear after becoming Prefect.
But Link didn't dislike him, at least not for now.
After all, the Flamel family had no shortage of power. If necessary, Percy would be the easiest person within the Weasley family for him to make use of.
Letting out a small laugh, the group finally dropped the topic under Cedric's urging and stepped out of the pub into Diagon Alley.
Like the Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley had become packed with people as the school year approached.
Scenes like this were rare in the sparsely populated wizarding world.
Because of that, both John and Cedric appeared quite excited.
Of course, John's excitement was especially due to all the strange and marvelous products in Diagon Alley.
For example, a crystal ball model with the entire solar system inside. With magic support, the stars inside could not only move on their own but also glow.
Or a complete set of solid gold Gobstones (a wizarding game similar to marbles, losers get sprayed with slime).
These things were extremely attractive to John, and he wandered among them again and again, but didn't buy any.
He had no choice. As a little wizard from a Muggle family, although Gringotts allowed him to exchange pounds for Galleons, there was a spending limit.
So John had to calculate every bit of money carefully. Otherwise, he'd be stuck using tattered secondhand books.
Link and Cedric were certainly wealthy, but out of respect for John's pride, they didn't offer to pay for him, they simply took note of the few items that John stared at the longest, planning to give them as Christmas gifts later.
The group chatted and laughed as they walked, and naturally didn't forget to buy proper things like new uniforms, books, and potion-making supplies.
When it came to potion equipment, Link and Emily didn't buy new ones like Cedric did.
Snape had clearly told them that unless it was a custom set of equipment, standard cauldrons and such required a period of wear-in before they would handle properly.
During the wear-in period, your potion-making skill would decline to some extent.
Link and Emily didn't want to get lectured by Snape over something like that.
What was more worth mentioning was that when the group reached the bookstore, they discovered that the usually bustling store at this time of year was surprisingly deserted.
Outside the bookstore, in a vacant space, stood a huge iron cage holding hundreds of furry books with fangs and four eyes, resembling spiders.
Inside the cage, they tangled and fought madly with each other. Link and the others even saw two books cooperating to tear a third book cleanly in half!
The air instantly burst with the sharp ripping sound and excited hissing from the books, with torn paper fluttering everywhere.
Staring at this scene, Link and the others were all dumbfounded on the spot.
