Chapter 199 - Chapter 199: Fudge’s Request

Saying it was going home, but this, for Link and Emily, ultimately was still a trip.

So under Link's strong suggestion, everyone still made a detour midway to Iceland.

After playing there for a few days, fulfilling the promise to bring Emily to see the black sand beach and geysers, everyone then went to France and Ireland.

After this string of travel activities, Link and Emily returned to the Flamel Castle, it was already seven days later in the evening.

Holding Emily's hand as they walked toward Flamel Castle in the dark night, Link could clearly feel Emily's nervousness. Her palm was now full of sweat.

And that hybrid dog which had already been named Doug was following the two behind, running and jumping nonstop, appearing extremely excited.

Link had performed another growth acceleration on it before. Now when it stood up, it was already nearly as tall as Link's knee.

Link completely understood Emily, after all, Mr. Victoria had already informed them earlier to return to retrieve Emily's armor. Very soon, whether their engagement would succeed or not was about to be revealed.

Gently squeezing Emily's small hand as comfort, only then did Link push open the castle's large door.

"Little master! You're finally back!"

Inside the castle, it was still the same warm and brightly lit scene as when Link left. The little Button guarding the door also greeted them excitedly.

However, just as Link was about to respond, the short and fat figure of Mr. Victoria appeared in front of him.

"Emily, we're going home."

Mr. Victoria forced out a smile uglier than crying toward Link, then grabbed Emily's hand in one swift move and was about to walk out the door.

"Ah, this…"

Link reached out to stop him, but was blocked by Madam Flamel.

As the castle's large door shut once again, looking at Madam Flamel dressed in a dark blue formal gown, Link asked puzzled, "Mother, what exactly is going on?"

"Let's not talk about that yet. Did you two have fun on this trip?" Madam Flamel cheerfully stepped forward and helped adjust Link's collar as she said, "Did you bring me any gifts?"

Hearing this, Link took a deep breath, then pulled out a pile of gift boxes from his Undetectable Extension Pocket and pushed them over.

"Alright, it's all here. Not just mine, also from Emily for you."

"Waooo!"

Madam Flamel let out a loud cheer and threw herself into the pile of gifts, while Link stood silently to the side watching, waiting for Madam Flamel's reply.

Regarding this, Madam Flamel naturally understood.

Only after she had unwrapped most of the gifts did she finally turn her head and smile toward Link, "No need to worry, dear. I've already taken care of everything between you and little Emily."

"Mr. Victoria's attitude just now didn't look like it was all taken care of."

"That was just a powerless man complaining in frustration."

Madam Flamel waved her hand and said, "In fact, he's already agreed to your engagement. But considering that you two are still young, the formal engagement ceremony will be scheduled after you turn sixteen."

"Accordingly, before the official engagement, you and Emily absolutely must listen to the Ministry of Magic and not do any excessive physical activities. Um, you understand what I mean, right? This is also for your own good."

Link nodded. Madam Flamel had spoken quite plainly.

And he supported this approach. Adolescent love is human nature, but engaging in physical activities too early can have some bad effects on the youth's body.

Even though those effects might be improved with magical potions, they still wouldn't be as good as the original.

Only… would things really go this smoothly?

You had to know, Mr. Victoria breaking promises wasn't something that happened just once or twice.

Thinking of this, Link still opened his mouth to ask, "I don't mind this, but… Mr. Victoria won't go back on his word then?"

"Go back on it? That's impossible!" Madam Flamel laughed and pulled out a piece of parchment. "This time, we signed a contract!"

Link took the parchment. The content on it matched exactly what Madam Flamel had said, and Link could also sense a strong magical aura from it.

"This is a goblin magical contract. Normally only used in Gringotts. If the signer breaks it, he'll be cursed for life!"

Madam Flamel said smiling. "So Link, before the engagement you must hold back! Not doing any excessive physical activity is also written in the contract!"

"Of course! Mother."

Link grinned. Although the engagement wasn't being held right away, at least it was contractually agreed upon.

Link was quite satisfied with that.

And just then, little Button suddenly appeared out of thin air beside the two of them, speaking timidly, "Master, little master, a guest has arrived."

"Hmm?" Madam Flamel had just been about to properly chat with Link about the travel experience, but upon hearing that, her face immediately sank. "Who's the blind fool?"

"He… he calls himself Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge." Frightened by Madam Flamel, little Button stuttered while speaking, "He says there's an urgent matter and needs little master's help."

"Oh! That idiot Fudge came at just the right time!" Madam Flamel said viciously.

If it were someone else, she would've just sent them away. But it had to be the Minister of Magic.

Seeing this, Link stepped forward with a smile and said, "Then you go rest first. I'll handle this."

"I'll leave it to you then, little Link." Madam Flamel looked into Link's eyes for a few seconds, then finally smiled gently. "Little Button, help me carry all my gifts upstairs, I want to look at them properly again!"

———

Watching Madam Flamel and little Button disappear at the end of the stairs, Link waved his wand to open the protection spells around Flamel Castle.

Not long after, a slightly fatter-than-before Fudge walked into the castle, bringing two Aurors with him.

"Link, I'm really sorry to disturb your rest."

"It's alright, Minister. I usually sleep late anyway."

After shaking hands and greeting Fudge, Link went straight to the point.

"Minister, what's the matter this time?"

Hearing this, Fudge signaled to the two Aurors beside him. After they both exited, he finally said, "It's Harry Potter. The Ministry of Magic just received news that he violated the underage wizard ban on using magic at home, and even ran away from home. This is a very dangerous thing!"

Link nodded. He understood what Fudge meant by dangerous.

The reason Harry could grow up safely to this age was entirely because the bloodline protection curse in his body shielded him from black magic and Death Eaters.

But if he ran away from home and stayed long away from his blood-related relatives, the bloodline curse would become invalid.

"Fortunately, my people have already gotten control of him. But his current mood is very unstable. If I go in and talk to him rashly, it will probably agitate him more."

Fudge raised his eyebrows and said, "Link, you're his friend. So I thought, maybe you could come with me to help persuade him."
