She woke to the feeling of the sun on her skin, she opened her eyes adjusting to the sudden light but she listened to the birds singing outside, then she stood from the nook she had rested on, she sniffed the air and it smelled fresh like fresh rain and morning dew, she walked to the man who was training outside.
"Human..I mean Leon, what are you doing?" she was curious to what he was doing outside so early since the sun was still rising.
"Training pretty lady, I want to become a spartan..maybe a general, you should train too just in case someone tries to attack you again" he wiped the sweat from his head then turned to look at he'd
"Swining a sword around seems..exhausting, I prefer smaller and easier to control blades" she had crossed her arms while she watched him
He laughed "well it is exhausting but it's worth it, and I want to make sure you're safe..without me here"
"We just met yesterday and you're acting like you know me for a long time..why do you care about my safety Leon?" She tilted her head
He was shocked but he knew she has a point so he nodded "yeah well..do you know the saying love at first sight? if you do or don't I can keep myself in check..you're just really pretty"
She laughed and smiled "I suppose this form appeases you? I'm glad but I haven't attached to you like that but I will grow"
"And I will wait..and so would you, I gave you those books but..I have to go there are wars going on and I'm training for that purpose" he rubbed the back of his neck nervously
She frowned and sighed "leaving..? When?"
"In a couple of months but I wanted to tell you first, and so that I could train you for just in case purposes..just in case I won't come back, but if I do I'll keep training you" He smiled
"Fine, train me spartan boy" she smiled and walked to him
They started to train together at first she kept getting tossed onto her behind but she started to get the hang of it once he lifted her chained blades so she wouldn't drop them too much, then the day arrived where he needed to leave
"Do you have to go?" She looked at him with a sad expression, like she was holding back tears
He nodded "yes I'm sorry but you know I'll be back..but it could be weeks, months or years by now..but hopefully I'll be able to come back in one peace"
"Don't say it like that please..just come back is all I want to hear" she glared at him before her face softened at his smile
"I will, just wait for me my firebird" He clasped her hand and softly kissed her knuckles before smiling and walking away
She was flustered when he did that, but she watched his back as he left a bit saddened but she smiled as she gave a small blessing to his armor, blade and shield without his knowledge so that he could be safe, little did she know later on in life this will come to bite her, she turned around and entered his house after watching him disappear upon the horizon.
