Yunhai Sect, like Baifeng Sect, is a branch of Baiyun Sect.
In Beipingzhou, if you want to become a senior monk, you must meet two basic conditions.
First, there must be a Yuanying-stage master in charge. When opening a lower sect, the upper sect must have at least one Yuanying-stage master.
As for the later period, if a Yuanying-stage master dies, resulting in a lack of successors, and there is no Yuanying-stage master, that is a special case, but it must be there when opening a lower sect. Second, the lower sect must have at least one Jindan cultivator in charge.
As a branch of Baiyun Sect, Yunhai Sect naturally has Jindan cultivators.
The current sect master, Hai Qing, is said to be a Jindan cultivator, but he has been cultivating in the back mountains for many years and usually does not show up unless it is a major event in the sect. Most of the other elders in the sect are foundation-building cultivators.
These elders are the backbone of the sect and specifically manage the affairs of the sect. The sect's spiritual stones, herbs, pills, magic weapons, spiritual beasts, etc. are all controlled by them.
Each elder has one or two stewards under him, who are considered the elder's assistants. Most of the stewards have cultivation levels of the fifth to tenth level of the Qi training period, and are generally inner disciples who entered the sect earlier.
Below the inner disciples are the outer disciples. Although they have entered the Yunhai Gate, they are called outer disciples because they are not real disciples yet.
The outer disciples are mainly responsible for various chores within the gate, such as planting medicinal herbs, raising spirit beasts, cleaning, carrying firewood and water, making fire and cooking, all of which require a large amount of manpower.
Only Jindan cultivators or cultivators above the Jindan stage can practice true fasting, practicing in seclusion for decades or even hundreds of years without eating or drinking.
Although foundation-building monks can also practice fasting, they must have sufficient supplies of spirit stones. If they want to go into seclusion for a long time, they must prepare sufficient spirit stones in advance for absorption.
If there are no spirit stones, then a place with abundant spiritual energy can also be used, such as near a spirit stone mine, or in a place with a spirit spring or a spirit eye. Foundation-building cultivators can also meditate there all year round.
Spiritual stones contain spiritual energy. The presence of spiritual stones means the presence of spiritual energy. According to the quality, spirit stones are divided into low-grade spiritual stones, medium-grade spiritual stones, high-grade spiritual stones and top-grade spiritual stones.
Legend has it that there are also top-grade spiritual stones, but in fact, even great cultivators rarely see top-grade spiritual stones.
The difference between spirit stones of different grades is not only the amount of spiritual energy they contain, but more importantly the quality of the spiritual energy they contain.
The higher the grade of the spirit stone, the more spiritual energy it contains in the same size, and the spiritual energy is purer and contains fewer impurities, which can multiply the speed and effect of cultivation, which may be several times, dozens of times, or even hundreds of times.
In particular, the higher the level of the cultivator, the higher the amount and quality of spiritual energy required. For example, if a Nascent Soul cultivator uses low-grade spirit stones to practice, the effect of his practice will be very poor.

Inferior-grade spirit stones are generally used for cultivation by cultivators at the Jindan stage and below.
It is not that they do not want to use higher-grade spirit stones, but it is difficult for them to obtain better resources with their level of cultivation, and it is difficult to obtain a large amount of high-quality spirit stones, so they can only use inferior-grade spirit stones for cultivation.
Only the children or disciples of some great immortal cultivators with good family backgrounds could use medium-quality spirit stones to cultivate when their cultivation was very low. Or they were blessed with great fortune and luck, and got a large number of high-quality spirit stones due to a chance encounter. Such people were even rarer.

Because the more impurities a spirit stone contains, the more toxic it is. Long-term use of such inferior spirit stones will cause great harm to the cultivator's body.
