Chapter 20 - Training Grain Size Black Hole

Elias was left alone in the training field. An array of stones of different sizes and shapes littered the ground, each decorated with scorched marks of lightning strikes.

"Thunderspark lightning, a powerful lightning that transfers its spark and currents through the light it emits, but only effective on rocks and some metals!"

Elias commented as he looked for a place to place his book and read through. He knew if he was back at Grimhammer Family, he would have enrolled into a Grimhammer Academy where he might spend 3 years mastering the basics of Gravity Skills.

"I don't want to go back just now. I feel it is not right.!"

Elias wasn't honest with himself. Despite his possibly powerful Talent, his confidence had taken a hit, and he needed to get over that before he could feel comfortable going back.

"But I'm being dead weight here. Even Sasha doesn't want to take me with her because I have no license."

He threw those thoughts away and placed the book down. He opened the first page and began to test out all the skills in the order they were listed.

"I'm probably overdoing what I should do by trying to master them all. I should focus on just the true basics and make them my standard skills just as the book suggested!"

But there was a feeling of knowing he needed to try them all.

Gravity Force moved from him and pushed a rock, heavy and his size, back a few centimeters.

"This one needs more force!" And he applied more force; the rock shot back a few meters, rolled and came to a stop.

"Hmm. This place is too small for rigorous training. I should stick to feeling the skills only."

Gravity Force, stronger than the last, left Elias and passed through the rock. The force returned, the rock floated up fast and came toward him.

Elias moved away from his location; the rock rammed and rolled.

"That is dangerous!" Elias stared at the rock. "I know I'm powerful, but I shouldn't kill myself."

He looked at the book and decided to go through the basics of his limitations. "I can't actively control two objects doing two things at the same time. I can't push and pull at the same time."

Making note of that, Elias looked at the Skills. "Okay, one by one. I must feel those that I can!"

Skill 1: Soft Push

Gravity Force bubbled toward the rock. It slightly shifted but not by much.

Skill 2: Soft Pull

Gravity Force bubbled up, the rock tilted a bit but didn't move. Elias used the other method: Gravity Force passed through the rock and came back. The rock trembled and tilted more before stopping.

"Soft Force can't handle heavyweight objects like this one."

Skill 3: Hard Push

This time the rock was pushed back a few centimeters. If Elias wanted, he would have put more power, but he didn't.

Skill 4: Hard Pull

Using the second method, the rock rolled toward him more than the push had done.

Skill 5: Levitation

Gravity Force passed through the rock and it became weightless but didn't lift up. Elias tried Soft Pull, and the rock moved up and came to him and stayed in the air.

"Levitation needs a touch of Soft Pull to activate!"

This minor detail made a great difference in situations. Without having this feeling, Elias would have beat around the bush all the time.

Skill 6: Floating

"And what is the different between skill 5 and 6?"

Nonetheless, he followed the sketch pattern; it was almost like Levitation but with minor differences. Floating needed something to rest on.

Elias used his leg to gather sand and make a small mound, then used floating on the rock to make it stay on top of the mound.

"Hmm. There was less strain on me by a little."

Skill 7: In-circulation

Skill 8: Out-circulation

Skill 9: Upward Push

Skill 10: Downward Pull

Skill 11: Object Spin

Skill 20: Gravity Infusion

Elias was so engrossed in his tests—some he got easily, some he just barely passed—he didn't notice night had come.

"Hey, Elias!" He heard a call and he looked back.

"You're back!" Elias asked, surprised.

"Yeah, since sunset. You should go and sleep." Her eyes dry, as if she had tried to sleep but failed.

"Ah. Sorry, I must have disturbed your rest with all the rock slamming!"

"Certainly."

Elias felt conflicted emotions. He should leave; he is a dead weight.

"Let me take you to your room!"

The rooms were upstairs. The rocky wall only had door sketches around; her lightning finger made the stone cave in and a room appeared.

It was furnished with everything, including a bathroom.

"Goodnight!" She said and left. The rock door closed but left a definite door shape; all Elias had to do was push and the rock would swing open.

The bed was soft with clean blankets; they smelled new, with no dusty odor.

He sat and sighed, "My mind is still not right!" Elias could feel it. He shook his head and lay down but sat up abruptly.

He hadn't released Black Hole today. According to the book, he should use it at least once a day.

The room was small, and his black hole had a 10-meter radius effect.

He pushed the rock door and came down the stairs. The main hall was large enough for that. He wanted the training field, but she had sealed it.

He closed his eyes and sighed before he raised his stumped arm, willing it out.

It came in the size of the smallest grain, black and silent; its weight was felt around the ten-meter radius.

Elias stared at it with awe, a smile etched on his face. This majestic power was to die for.

He turned it off and went back to his room but Eyes stared at him with a questioning gaze.

"Just trying something I forgot to," he said, but then he noticed in her hand was a gun, facing his way, and Elias felt his heart skip a beat.
