"Cutie," Kaya said, her voice soft but carrying absolute authority. "Turn around."
Cutie froze. Slowly, hesitantly, the giant turned back around, though he kept his gaze respectfully fixed on the ceiling tiles, his long rabbit ears twitching nervously.
"Put the med kit down," Kaya ordered. "And come here."
Veer's amber eyes snapped back to Kaya, his dark brows raising in surprise. He let out a low, territorial rumble, his grip on her thighs tightening instinctively. Sharing a battlefield was one thing; sharing his wife on a kitchen counter was entirely different.
Kaya simply reached up, running her thumb smoothly over Veer's lower lip, silencing his protest before it even started. "You said you wanted to burn the nightmare out of me, Veer. It's a big job. Let him help."
