Chapter 9 - First day of school

After receiving that message, I got the proper uniform the next day. Today was the day I was supposed to meet my teacher.

"Have a great day at school, honey," Inko said as she kissed me on the cheek, just like always, while everyone inside the house was either in an apron or nothing at all. Today, she was completely nude. She handed me my lunch for the day, which I slipped into my yellow backpack before heading out.

As she closed the door behind me, three clones suddenly appeared. "Don't worry, mother will keep you company," one of the clones said as it helped her from behind, whispering into her ear, clearly arousing her.

Back with me, I had just boarded the train to UA and was heading straight to the school once I arrived. It was still early morning, so most students hadn't arrived yet.

I wanted to get here early to avoid the traffic and to see if there was anything different with Class 1-A.

I left the house through a front door that was huge—probably designed for students with gigantivacation quirks—and entered the classroom, where I found only one other student sitting at the back.

At the back, there was a girl with turquoise eyes and red hair, wearing a uniform, with a burn scar on the left side of her face.

I stayed calm and made my way to my seat, knowing my turn would come soon. The clock showed only 30 minutes before the door opened again.

The blue-haired teen from the entrance exam stepped into the room, not among the two others in class. He caught my eye and approached me.

"I've come to apologize for my strange behavior during the inference exam. You're a true hero, even if I did notice the hidden motor behind it," he said, gesturing with his hand.

"It's fine. I didn't know about the fuel points until they were explained, and honestly, you did pretty well," I replied, scratching the back of my head. Soon after, we were joined by a tall girl with black hair tied in a ponytail and bangs hanging down her face.

"Hello, classmate. I am Tanya Lida," he said to the new girl, repeating his chopping motion.

"Hello, Lida. My name is Momo Yaoyorozu." As she spoke, she looked to the side and saw me. Her eyes widened, and she approached to bow her head.

"Thank you for saving me the other day and during the entrance exam," she said. In this timeline, she took the regular exam instead of the special one.

"It was no problem. That's what heroes do," I told her. More students started arriving as the day went on, driven by curiosity. A small girl with purple hair styled into bangs resembling a ball by her head—Mineta, in this timeline, who has a twin sister—was among them.

Bakugo burst into the room with a scowl, his face scaled with irritation. He looked at me before sitting at the back desk with his feet up, sparking a heated exchange with Lida until the door opened again, revealing Ochaco Uraraka. She surveyed the room and set her eyes on me.

"Hey, Deku," she called out as she approached.

"Uraraka! Good to see you again," I replied.

"You're here to become a hero, not make friends," a voice interrupted. Turning, I saw a yellow beanbag with a man inside it.

"I am your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Put these on and meet me outside," he said, his black hair visible as he left the classroom.

"What about orientation?" one of the girls asked.

"Heroes don't attend orientation," Mr. Aizawa replied. I quickly grabbed my bag and followed him, changing clothes along the way. The others picked up the hint and started changing as well.

"Guys, look! Our upperclassman left us a gift. I need to check the girls' changing room," he said, attempting to peek inside before I stopped him, tossing him against the wall.

"First of all, you don't get girls by being a pervert, and secondly, it's not cool to peek. I'll see you outside," I said and headed back outside where Aizawa was waiting. I began to wait for the others.

"You're quick. Good heroes should be fast," he said, glancing at me.

"Thanks. By the way, there's a hole in the boys' changing room that leads directly to the girls' side—it might be a good idea to get someone to patch it up," I added.

"I'll have someone look at it after classes end," he replied.

Meanwhile, the girls were changing. Kyoka Jiro was listening in on the boys' side through her earphone jack, then turned back to the others.

"Girls, a pervert tried to peek on us," she reported, prompting some to cover up. She added, "Don't worry; he was stopped by the green guy. We're fine."

"He seems really nice. Maybe I should thank him privately," said Mineta, licking his lips and attracting some looks from the girls.

"Well, I think he looks fine. He's a gentleman and hasn't tried to perv on us, which we appreciate. He saved most of your lives. If you won't make a move, I will," she said, already getting dressed and heading out. The girls exchanged glances and nodded—they'd actually had trouble with him more quickly than expected. Except for Shoda, who remained calm and indifferent.

Meanwhile, we all lined up, facing our teacher.

"You've all taken standardized tests before, but none of you have really learned to use your quirks properly. The country wants to make you think we're all equal, but one day, the industry will realize that your quirks are your greatest strength. Midoriya, you were first in both physical and written tests, right?"

"Yes, sir," I answered.

"Good. I want you to throw this ball with everything you've got—no holding back, or you'll be expelled," he said, tossing the ball to me.

Realizing he was serious, I stepped into the circle, powered up to 10% of One For All, and embedded my fire, lightning, and ice powers into my white arm. Then I pulled back and sliced off my arm with fluid motion, sending it flying into the sky with a sonic boom and a massive gust of wind that swept over the class.

Aizawa looked at his phone, then showed it to us. It read 946.5 meters.

"Today, you'll be testing your quirks to see how they can best serve you. Give it everything you've got, 100% effort," he said.

"That looks like fun," said a girl with pink hair, her expression deadpan.

"You really shouldn't have said that," I warned her, noting Aizawa's sadistic smile.

"Funny, you say that. The person who finishes last gets expelled. I run this class, and if you don't like it, you can leave right now," he declared.

"You can't send one of us home—that's not fair," someone protested.

"Life's not fair. Natural disasters wipe out hundreds, and that's not fair either. Life is full of challenges, and it's our job to counter them," Aizawa said, leading us to the first test—the 50 km run. I used my lightning to boost my speed, easily beating Bakugo in just two seconds and finishing first.

Next was the grip strength test, where I powered up to 9% of One For All, breaking it and shocking everyone. I secured first place again.

For the third test, I used my ice powers to glide over the sand and kept clearing it until the final event, the ball toss. I didn't participate this time since I already had a lead but came in second after Uraraka, who managed infinity.

Finally, Aizawa announced the scores. I finished first, Bakugo second, Shoto Todoroki third, and at the bottom was Toru Hagakure.

She started crying, "No! I don't want to be a spell!" She shook with frustration, but Aizawa cleared his throat.

"That test was to gauge your progress. No one's getting expelled," he said, surprising us, except for me and the girl with black hair.

"I thought you knew it was a test. Should I have said something?" she asked, causing everyone to look at her and shout in unison.

"Yes!" they all yelled.

"Actually, he wasn't joking. Last year, he expelled his entire class because he thought they didn't have potential," I said, shocking everyone.

"That's it for today. Grab the syllabus on your way out," Aizawa said, walking away.

Back in the changing room, I changed back into my regular clothes, grabbed my syllabus, and slipped it into my backpack. On my way out, I approached two people.

"Impressive show today, Midoriya," Lida said.

"Thanks for the compliment," I replied.

"Deku, what's your quirk? You seem to control lightning, fire, water, and ice—like you've got super strength," she asked, causing the class to listen more closely, especially a girl with half-and-half hair.

"My quirk is elemental control—I can manipulate four elements: fire, water, ice, and lightning. Lightning is just energy, so I use it to boost myself—that's why my eyes sometimes turn green instead of blue," I explained, making their eyes widen.

"That's an impressive quirk, Midoriya. But I remember you healing yesterday," she added, curious.

"Yeah, that's my secondary power. When I first got my quirk, it hurt a lot, so as a side effect, my body developed regeneration. I can recover quickly from injuries, even big ones like in the incident where I broke my arms and legs," I said, surprising everyone, though in the world of quirks, it wasn't entirely impossible.

"By the way, what quirks do you all have?" I asked, pretending I didn't already know.

"I have engines in my legs, which boost my speed and strengthen my kicks," Lida said.

"My quirk is zero gravity— I can apply zero gravity to anything I touch with my five fingers," said another girl.

"So, are you heading to the station?" Uraraka asked.

"Yes, actually," I replied.

"Great! Want to go together?" she offered, grabbing my arm, which surprised me a little given her forwardness. The rest of the class, mostly girls, watched as she just shrugged it off.

"Good idea. We should all go together," Lida said, joining us as we headed to the train station.

Before boarding, I asked, "Want to exchange phone numbers so we can stay in touch?" We all shared our numbers, then headed home.
