Chapter 5 - Shiu's weakness

A black car was parked in front of the school waiting. Shiu walked over to the car and opened it.

"Young Master, I was just about to open the door for you. One of the gangsters stood on the other side of the car smoking a cigarette. When he saw Shiu, he said.

"There's no need to do that." Shiu rubbed his forehead and went inside. He said: "From now on, you don't have to come for me anymore.

"B-but young mast-".

"You guys attract too much attention." He looked at the two men with black glasses on their faces, tattoos and scars all over their bodies.

"I can go to school on my own"

They looked at each other and replied, "As you wish".

The black car drove for about twenty minutes and finally pulled up in front of a luxurious white villa.

The driver took out an ID card and tapped it on the intercom system. This caused the large gate of the mansion to open and the car to drive inside.

Shiu arrived in front of the mansion door. The family's head butler suddenly opened the door.

"Welcome back young master," the butler said with a fatherly smile.

"Davis, remember it's Shiu, not Young Master. That was our deal, right guys?" Shiu looked at the butler and all the maids and security guards smiling at him.

"You should call me by my name. I've been telling you guys the same thing ever since I was a kid," he said with a sigh.

"Hehehe, it's just a bit difficult," she replied.

"Why is it difficult when you call Father by his name?" Shiu stopped his step, he turned around and looked at them. "Forget it, do what you want." There was a hint of disappointment in his voice.

The butler and all the others looked at each other and felt sorry.

Shiu went straight to his bedroom. After having showered, he went down to eat. And then back to his room to bed.

The next morning, Shiu got up early in order to catch the train. As usual, his eyes were tired and heavy. For someone who liked to sleep, it was hell to get up so early.

"I'm sure I'll be the only one at school...".

A quarter of an hour later he arrived at the school. And indeed, he was the only one. Again, he stood in front of the building for a while: "How am I supposed to stay awake all day? What a pain".

He couldn't believe that he had forgotten his coffee. He only remembered it when he was already at the station.

He went into the school. And before he went to his class, he went to the canteen. He wanted to see if it was open or if the vending machine was working. But no, it was too early, the canteen was closed.

And even though the vending machine was working, it did not have an energy drink in it. "What's wrong with this school? They don't even have a good drink..." he sighed.

"I feel sorry for my teachers. I'll be sleeping' all the way through their classes." Shiu walked down the corridor that led to his classroom. The school was very spooky with no one around, especially since it was still six in the morning and the sun hadn't risen yet. The rain clouds in the sky also made it a darker outside.

As he walked, Shiu heard the sound of piano playing. He stopped in his tracks.

"What is that noise?" He turned his head. Even though Shiu had been able to see ghosts since he was a child, he was still afraid of them. He just never let anyone in his family know that he didn't like seeing them.

"L-listen ghost, I can't deal with you right now, I'm too tired" he said.

He looked at the empty corridor and felt his body go cold. Without hesitation he fastened his steps, trying to ignore the sound of footsteps he heard behind him.

With a sigh he turned round. His eyes fell on the transparent, bloody woman dressed in a white robe. Shiu's gaze trembled. This is not what he had actually expected to see.

This was the first time he saw a bloody ghost. Yes, sometimes when he helps the police and the investigator to find the body of the victim and the serial killer, he usually does it while listening to the voices of the ghosts telling their stories.

From the very beginning, all he could do was listen to them. He has never been able to see them. But for some reason, when he arrived in this city, he began to see the ghosts vividly. Why? God, why?

Shiu wished he could run away. But his body froze because he was too scared. The only thing Shiu was afraid of was ghosts.

"Life is really cruel," he said.

That was also the reason why he never had any sleep at night. He would always leave the lights on. But there were a couple of mischievous ghosts in his own house. And they had fun giving him a fright every night. He can only sleep during the day.

Shiu looked at the ghost in front of him. The bloody woman had two broken chains on her hands and two broken chains on her feet. She walked over to Shiu with a very slow pace. "C-c-can't you wait a while?"

The ghosts knew that he was able to see them. That was why they usually approached him to ask for help.

Shiu felt as if his heart was getting weaker and weaker every time he saw a ghost. All of a sudden, he heard something approaching him from behind. He broke into sweat. Quickly, he turned around and met Damio's eyes.
