Chapter 2 - 2. Bloodshed

"Ridiculous!" Connie grimaced, giggling yet gloomy. She stared at them and vowed hatefully, "I should have known that trust is precious, and I wouldn't get it from slutty people like you!"

Vittoria smirked falsely. She's spoken in a taunting tone. Her eyes flashed disdain. "It's all in vain, Hun. Enzo only loved me. Your life is over now. Just sign it. Besides, you'll be dead soon. Why are you so stubborn?"

"MY LIFE ISN'T OVER YET! NOT THIS WAY!" Constance swore with a haunting, condemnatory tone. "I swear you will pay for all your evil deeds against me!

"Even if I die in this life! Then I will definitely hunt you down in another life!"

"See if I care? Mi importa?" Lorenzo scoffed deadly. His dismissive eyes stabbed Connie's heart. Enzo grabbed her bloody hair roughly. He barked. "Sign it, b**ch!"

She whimpered in distress. Tears dried up, other than the heartache that welled up and bled inside her chest—it had turned into a terrible hate blaze.

They snicker at seeing her suffer. Constance's bruised hands were shaking, and she almost broke the ballpoint in her hand.

Her half-life seemed to disappear; she still found it hard to believe all this, her soul as if floating in limbo, trapped in two worlds.

She signed the divorce papers, limping with resentment.

"It's so easy, right?" Enzo smirks viciously as a demon. He knelt before Connie, whispering tauntingly beside her bloodied face. "I knew you could act wisely. You are indeed the Morelli's obedient dog.

"It's no mistake that my padre chose you to be the most innocent, scum, moron, and controllable daughter-in-law he could find. Thanks for your service, Sylvaine. Now the problem is I didn't need you anymore."

Bloody tears swam from Connie's eyes. She leered at Enzo. All that remains is hatred and vengeance. "Someday I'll make you regret it! I'll kill you all."

"I'm afraid you won't live long before you do that," Enzo chuckled wickedly, "considering you'll be dead as soon as you get out of my life. Die on the streets as a pathetic outcast dog!

"Don't expect to get any money from me. You came here with nothing, so you'll scratch your way to your own grave, empty-handed!"

Against everyone's expectations, Constance, still holding the ballpoint, stabbed Lorenzo's neck brutally.

[Stab!]

[The wild blood sound splashing and skin tearing.]

"Ugh!" Lorenzo choked. Jolted back in fright, thick blood spurted from his lacerated neck. He suffocated and collapsed; he couldn't say anything.

"NO! ENZO!" Vittoria screamed in terror at the sight.

Enzo's bloodbath freaked out everyone.

A blindsided Connie shot up to her feet, lunging forward at Tori. In one fell swoop, knocking her down, Tori's head hit the cold, hard steel prison floor.

Connie strangles Tori's neck, twisting it tight as if it were a brutal chain. She nearly broke Tori's rib.

Constance shrieked madly. Shaking Tori's head roughly, many times vindictively. "DIE! JUST GO TO HELL!"

"Help—" Tori stammered. Her legs thrashed desperately as she choked, struggling to breathe. Her face turned bright red.

No one expected such a rapid and insane strike from a disgruntled Constance Sylvaine; she wanted to kill Lorenzo and Vittoria!

Lorenzo snarled, suffocating and ordering Giuseppe. "KILL HER!"

[BANG!]

[BANG!]

Two stray Beretta 92 bullets pierced her back, and Connie collapsed in her bloodbath.

"She's dead. There was no heartbeat."

"Move faster! Even if someone else finds her, we must make it look like an accident!"

[Brag!]

Two soldiers threw Connie's corpse on the rocks. Preparing to dump her down the Betty Hill cliff.

The crashing sound waves were so vivid. A cold breeze, brushing Connie's face like a pinprick.

Triggering her horrible childhood memories—a bloody scream flashed vividly as if metal pieces were stabbing her head.

SADIE! RUN AWAY! YOU HAVE STAYED ALIVE!

Connie's eyes bulged, cursing them under the dark night and the bright full moon. She swore that the death was not her life's end.

"Idiota! You said she was dead! She's still alive!"

[Kablam!]

"Ugh!"

"Sniper! Who shot dead—"

Constance fell on the two soldiers' corpses, who lay dead on the ground, bloodied.

She groaned and lay stiff.

Connie didn't know what was happening; then she heard a couple of helicopters approaching and landing on the cliff.

The firing range light was blindingly white, as if she were seeing the heaven gates. There was the freshest cold breeze that kept Constance awake.

Though helpless, her head aches too much, the blood seeping from her temple wound blurring her vision.

So many strangers were moving toward her, buzzing like bees or moths around fire. A line of men in fitted black suits holding long-barreled military-caliber rifles before their chests.

Who are they?

"Headshot, excellent job, Flint!" Asher praised. Punching Flint's hand as he slung the sniper rifle on his back. Running down from the helicopter to pick up their precious cargo.

Flint threw away the cigarette butt and stomped it on the rocks. He roared. "Just the two of them; no one else followed from Morelli's fortress."

"Goodness, Lady Sadie! Please forgive my delay in picking you up. This is my fault. Thankfully, I was still in time to save you." Asher knelt before Connie, rubbing her head and face with a gentle touch.

The charming man's voice trembled as he held back his frantic mind. His expression was misty. "I'm Asher Cromwell. You're safe with me. Hey! Bring the stretcher!"

Flint Devereaux knelt beside Constance. "Is she okay?"

Asher shook his head, looking extremely panicked. "Awful; Lord Linus will be furious. Prepare the medical team ASAP!"

They moved swiftly. Connie was transferred onto a stretcher and moved into the cabin of the medical helicopter.

A medical team rushed over, moving rapidly and providing various dexterous measures to check her condition.

"There was a gunshot wound through the back and a stab in the stomach!"

"Her left arm bone was dislocated. Her bleeding was fatal. Prepare for general anesthesia. Surgery to remove the bullet!"

"Suppress the bleeding trauma!"

Constance snarled madly as the anesthetic injection penetrated her veins.

"Calm down, Lady. You'll be fine!"

"Clean up the rest, Flint. Don't leave any trace! Let's go home!" Asher gesticulated in the air; they got into the helicopter, flying away from the cliff.

"See you at the Grand Mansion!" Flint called out, waving from the cliff edge. His jet-black hair ruffled with the swirling wind waves. Staring at the Asher helicopters fleeing into the dark night.

Flint whistled, approaching the two corpse soldiers and throwing them back down into the cabin car. "Stupid Morelli, you made a fatal mistake seeking trouble with the Kaiser."

Finding a bronze lighter on the ground, Flint shrugged. He started the fire, burning the car cabin seat.

It took a long time for the fire to grow, devouring and blowing the black sedan to pieces with the horrible flames.
