Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: System Mission – Rescue Shisui

[Ding! Plot deviation detected—system initialization complete!]

[Initial mission: Rescue Shisui]

[Reward: Mangekyō Sharingan]

[Newcomer bonus: Chakra capacity doubled! Physical enhancement activated! Three Tomoe Sharingan granted!]

Just as Andrew left the Uchiha clan compound, a cold mechanical voice suddenly echoed in his mind, and he almost tripped mid-step.

"Damn it! I've been a Jōnin for how long now, and only now this damn cheat system shows up? What kind of rigged timing is this?"

And that so-called newcomer gift pack? A joke. Chakra boost and body strengthening? Sure, whatever. The only valuable item was the Three Tomoe Sharingan—but Andrew had awakened that on his own years ago!

He scoffed mentally. "I opened my Sharingan while grieving my parents from my past life. After that trauma, you expect me to be impressed by this pity gift?"

Sure, he had wished for a cheat system when he first arrived in the Naruto world, but now? Now the system decided to wake up and act useful? Too little, too late.

[Ding! Detected: Host already possesses Three Tomoe Sharingan. Sharingan fusion enhancement complete. Illusion techniques strengthened.]

"Tch. Trash system..."

He had hoped for a straight upgrade to the Mangekyō Sharingan. Instead, it was more like a firmware patch. Disappointed, he continued moving forward. Meanwhile, several Uchiha had followed him toward Nanhe River, the last known location of Shisui.

Though Andrew could roughly predict the general time and location based on his memory of the plot, the specifics were still blurry. After all, he wasn't Kishimoto.

"Found him! Shisui's here—damn it, his eyes have been gouged out!"

One of the Uchiha shouted in alarm. The moment everyone heard it, they rushed to Shisui's side.

Thankfully, as a clan known for ocular prowess, the Uchiha weren't entirely blind in their tracking. While not as precise as the Hyuga's Byakugan, their Sharingan gave them an edge over typical ninja.

"Anyone here know medical ninjutsu? We need to stabilize Shisui—now!"

Despite his years of relentless training, Andrew never got around to learning medical ninjutsu. That had never been his priority.

Fortunately, among the group were members who, while not medics, had at least some field training. Shisui's life was hanging by a thread, and they got to work immediately.

[Ding! Initial mission complete. Reward: Mangekyō Sharingan unlocked!]

As the notification rang out, the system once again fell silent. No additional fanfare.

Still, Andrew felt a sudden chill surge through his eyes, a concentrated chakra condensing in his pupils. He exhaled slowly, realizing what had just happened.

"So this is the Mangekyō Sharingan..."

Unlike the Three Tomoe form, which he had achieved through emotional stress, he had worried that the Mangekyō might remain out of reach. After all, he didn't truly belong to this world, didn't have the deep bonds that others did, and emotional triggers weren't so easy to force.

Now, though, he could feel the power coursing through him. The system may be stingy, but at least this time, it delivered.

Shisui's condition had stabilized. The initial mission was complete. Andrew could finally relax—at least for a moment.

But the others couldn't.

Upon seeing Shisui's brutal condition—the empty sockets, the blood—rage erupted like a volcano among the Uchiha.

"Bastards! Who dared to take our Uchiha's eyes?!"

"This is a declaration of war!"

"Andrew! Tell us—who did this to Shisui?"

He tried to stay composed, still adjusting to the surge of power flowing through his Mangekyō. But the shouting grated on his nerves.

Before he could answer, his newly enhanced perception detected chakra approaching from behind the treeline. His eyes narrowed. Enhanced sensory feedback from his Sharingan made it easy to track them.

From the woods, three figures burst forth—masked, clad in the signature uniform of the ANBU.

Everyone turned, shocked.

Three ANBU ninjas? Now? Right here?

The attackers themselves paused as they laid eyes on the scene—a full squad of Uchiha already assembled, eyes blazing. Their target was lying unconscious in the middle of his clan, under guard.

This was not the scenario they had prepared for.

"ANBU!" someone shouted.

But something didn't add up. Their movements were aggressive—far too hostile for a supposed rescue team. None of the Uchiha believed they were here to help.

The implications spread like wildfire. Was the Hokage behind this? Was it Danzo?

The doves among the Uchiha had always clung to the belief that the village could be reasoned with, that reconciliation was possible. But this... this moment shook their very faith.

The ANBU team leader made a decision—there was no time for retreat.

Danzo's orders had been clear: Shisui must die.

He gave a signal, and the two teammates launched forward. Formation-shifting tactics attempted to confuse the Uchiha, but it was too late.

The Uchiha weren't rookies—they were elite, hardened Jōnin. Before the attackers could even strike, two of the clan members fired Great Fireball Jutsu, engulfing the field in searing flames.

Behind the curtain of fire, shuriken whistled through the air, creating a deadly combination.

The root members panicked. They hadn't expected resistance this fierce—and certainly not from the doves.

Then something unthinkable happened.

The three ANBU pulled out detonating talismans and tried to activate them.

"They're trying to take us down with them!"

The Uchiha quickly moved Shisui out of the blast radius. But the expected explosions... never came.

The three attackers stood frozen, talismans held aloft—motionless, like statues.

Andrew stepped forward, his Sharingan glowing ominously.

He hadn't even used Mangekyō. The upgraded Three Tomoe, combined with his boosted genjutsu, was more than enough.

"Idiots. You're not ANBU. You're Root."

A few gasps rippled through the group. The doves—once trusting of the village—were stunned into silence.

They had just been attacked by the very organization they hoped to protect.

In that moment, Andrew saw something he hadn't expected:

Doubt. Fury. Unity.

For the first time, he realized that the Uchiha's fate wasn't set in stone.

If the clan could unite—if they could stop bickering and direct their power outward rather than inward—they could stand up to Konoha's leadership.

An Uchiha clan plagued by internal strife was manageable.

But a unified Uchiha? That was a force even Hokage couldn't ignore.

This wasn't about overthrowing the village—it was about survival, about gaining a voice, and ensuring that they were never targeted again.

"Danzo… This must've been your doing." Andrew clenched his fists.

Fighting the Hokage might be unwise. But fighting Danzo? That was a battle they could win.

And it might be the first step in saving the clan.
