Although Yul didn't believe what Liya had said, he decided to agree to Liya's request. After all Yul also disliked publishing Inu's details to the public. It would only attract unwanted attention. It was better to keep the mother and son away from the media attention. So he said, "The wedding will take place in front of elders of the family as it's needed for them to recognise you as my wife and Inu as my legal heir. As for publishing the matter, I can spare the photographs. It will be better for privacy as you said."
Liya was very pleased to hear that. "Thank you," she said to Yul.
When it seemed there was nothing to discuss anymore, Yul stood up to leave first. Devin also followed suit. It was then Liya had another doubt. She hesitated if she should ask it or not. But then she decided to clear everything beforehand.
She looked at Yul and said, "I have one more question."
Yul was standing now and he looked down at Liya and said, "Go on."
Liya cleared her throat and then asked, "What will happen if you really want to get married, in the future? I mean for real?"
Devin didn't understand what Liya meant and he looked at Yul in confusion. But Yul got what she was pointing at and replied, "I just got married for real now. What's there more real to happen?"
Liya also stood up to face Yul and explained, "I mean… what if in the future… what if… you meet someone you want to marry for real… I mean someone you love? What will happen then?" She stammered while conveying her doubt. She wanted to know if the woman she saw in her vision was his lover or not.
Yul bend towards Liya by placing his hands on the round table. Now he was close to her face than before. Looking at her eyes, he said, "If you are asking about divorce, then that's never going to happen. I, Yul Amarok, will never agree for a divorce, as it will imply that I was not good enough. I will never agree to that as I am the best and we Amaroks don't stop anything they started mid-way."
Liya was flabbergasted by Yul's move and words. But he wasn't finished. Yul continued after standing straight, "I told you that there is no going back once you sign the marriage papers. As long as I am alive, you will be the one and only Mrs Yul Amarok, in this lifetime."
Now, that was some information beyond Liya's expectations. More than the divorce she was actually curious about the woman she saw. But she didn't get an answer for that. From Yul's words it was clear that he didn't have a girlfriend. So there was still time for that woman to come into his life. It was actually a good thing. She had time to change the future now.
She actually wanted to ask him further, 'What's the guarantee that you will never fall in love with someone? Can you promise that you will never?', but swallowed the questions on not wanting to hear him boast about himself.
Yul left the room with his entire arrogant and mighty attitude. Devin nodded at Liya and followed Yul.
"Devin," Yul called Devin from behind.
"Yes, ma'am," Devin stopped in his tracks and turned to answer.
"Can you not call me ma'am? Liya would do fine," she said.
"No ma'am. You are my master's wife. I have to follow the rules and give you respect. Moreover, you will have to get used to this type of references, as everyone around you, except your family, will be calling you this. I will come to pick you and Inu tomorrow. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave." Devin replied humbly and left.
Liya took her umbrella and left the coffee shop into the rain. It seemed the rain had won this round, as there was hardly any sunlight. It was darker and gloomier than before.
Through the walkway Liya started walking towards the day care centre, where she had admitted Inu for the day. It was the business centre of Poonj and everything you need was at an arm's distance here. As she walked by, past memories flooded into her. Her college, the hospice she worked, and even her home, all were located nearby. She paused for a moment thinking about visiting those places but retracted the idea when what happened next came to her mind. If, only if, she hadn't met them here!
Liya was standing in front of a big office building in daze. The honk from a passing car brought her back and she again started walking.
From a distance Yul was also following Liya in their car. They kept watching her to know where she was headed.
"She seems somewhat innocent, boss… Maybe we are too paranoid." Devin said to Yul who wasn't keeping his eyes off Liya.
"She is hard to read Devin. Right now, we can't afford sentiments and must get Inu at any cost. Keep following her." Yul replied.
Liya sensed someone following her and quickly took a turn to a small road hard for vehicles to enter and hurried to get Inu. An ominous feeling that she was opening a Pandora's box was starting to haunt her.
