Silvan roused first, they had ended up sleeping side by side on the cramped sofa during the course of the night. It was sometime around dawn, a warm pink starting to take over the blue-gray skies. He got to his feet and carried Alessio to his bed, hesitating by the Vampire's bedside.
Usually, Silvan would be wide awake by now, but knowing that Alessio would not be up for a few hours more made sleeping in enticing. His mind was made up in a moment, joining Alessio on the much more spacious bed. It meant nothing because he gathered up the sleeping Vampire in his arms, their curled-up figures taking up the smallest possible space on the bed.
By mid-morning, they were still both fast asleep, warm sunlight spilling into the room, chirping birds, and faint, distant conversation occasionally floating around. The peaceful atmosphere shattered when the doors were thrown open loudly, startling the two on the bed awake.
