" Should I just die? Kill myself? Or Run far away where no one could ever find me?" Scarlett sighed as she asked herself while staring out of the window of her room, which is now a reflection of her feelings and mood.
Her face dropped gloomily, her empty eyes watching everyone in a high mood as always, laughing and playing around, smiling and giggling like the whole world evolves around them while she's stuck in the shell of loneliness and scars. Her fingers clasped together like in search of a hopeless companion with her nose exhaling a continuous weary sigh.
The faces that smiled at each other were the same faces that bullied her countless times, called her names, and trampled on her because she was the shadow of the entire pack.
" Are you thinking of committing suicide again?".
The voice interrupted her thought with a startle.
She looked back and chuckled at seeing her best friend standing by the doorstep with her funny, angry face on.
" Don't give me that fake laugh; what are you doing?" she asked, walking towards her and taking a peep out of the window. She could see the pack members having a nice moment by doing a wolf racing competition.
She sighed before turning to her, "You're not thinking about that, are you? This is the moment of celebration you know that?",
" What celebration?", Scarlett asked, her face wearing its gloominess back as she walked towards her bed and sat on it,
" What do you mean by what celebration, you're meeting Alpha Damien today", her best friend's voice cooed,
" So?",
" So?? Did you just say so? He's your mate. Did you know how excited I was when I heard that the moon goddess has chosen his mate, and it's you?".
Scarlett rolled her eyes, " don't get too excited Elora, there's no way he'd accept me ",
" Give me reasons why he won't accept you, you're beautiful, intelligent, modest, hardworking....",
" Just stop!" Scarlett clenched her fist around her blue armless gown; tears began to gather around her eyes the more she fought it, " just stop, Elora. Beautiful? Intelligent? Don't flatter me, you know how much everyone despises me, how much no one wants me around, what do they call me? An outcast? The pack cat?",
" Scarlett..",
" Just stop", she interrupted her, "No one wants me Lora, no one wants a werewolf who can't shift to a wolf, no one wants a mate who can't stand up for herself, a mate who has nothing to offer, you think a whole Alpha Damien is even going to spare me a glance?",
" He will ",
" Don't be so assured, " I don't wish my life for anyone else; it sucks," She said, turning away from Elora.
" Don't talk like that, we should be in a good mood not this sullen mood of yours",
She sighed, "This is probably the mood I'll die in",
" Hey", she whacked her shoulder, " never say that again",
" Ouch! That hurts",
" It should. And just because things ain't how we want them now doesn't mean it's never going to be okay",
" Do you think it'll ever be?",
" That's one thing about life, one mysterious thing. Anything can change; your life, your history, who you are, what you are, can change any moment".
Scarlett scoffed, "In the dream?",
Elora smiled, "No, it takes just a day. Not a day, just an hour, just that one hour, one action, one decision, one word, it takes just one hour for the story to change",
" My story, will change in just an hour?",
" Not only your story, it could be anything, could be anyone, could be anything, all it takes is just an hour, so.. let's wait for that hour which I believe will happen soon",
Scarlett felt goosebumps all over her and looked at Elora, " Why do I have a strong feeling that word is for you".
She stared into Elora's eyes with so much worry and concern.
" Those words are not for me; they are for you; you're the one, Scarlett; you're the one who's not seeing this amazing news as a chance for a new life."
Scarlett shut her eyes tight and opened them again, lacking resolve.
" A new life? I'm not like you, Elora, I'm not like you, who everyone loves and adores; you are one of the most beautiful werewolves in the pack; who wouldn't easily fall for you? You have everything and here I am, with nothing. My father doesn't even accept me; what makes you think Alpha Damien will?" a hint of jealousy and anger hung in her voice.
Elora swallowed hard when she heard that, her fingers curled up, but before it hit deeper she masked it up like she always does and looked up at Scarlett with a smile and so much love. She understood Scarlett's fears and every single thing she said, she knew what she had been through, how much she had been humiliated by everyone, blamed for killing her mother who died in childbirth, how her father despised her and didn't want her around, how she is always bullied and the fact that she couldn't turn to wolf makes the whole situation worse.
Elora knows she's scared, she's frustrated, and she hates herself, she stood up and held her hand, " I love you, Scarlett, and you know how much I adore you. I don't have everything, and stop saying you have nothing 'cause you have me."
Tears streamed down Scarlett's cheeks freely, " You're lucky you know, you have parents who love and cherish you, a man who's your mate and loves you so much and that which you love back, and you're also getting married in a three week, how lucky you are ",
" You're also lucky, my mate is not an Alpha, and here you are, about to own one of the most powerful Alpha in the seven packs. "
Scarlett burst into laughter, "Did you just say own? That is a dream",
" Which is about to come true",
" I don't think so", she sighed and wiped her tears off with the back of her hand, " I honestly wished that moon goddess would leave me alone; why would she even choose me? I know that even the gods have abandoned me, but she doesn't have to remind me of that. I hate her",
" Don't, "Elora chuckled, " I'm sure she has her reasons, and you can't tell; she might have a life-changing surprise for you. "
Scarlett rolled her eyes and shook her head, "life-changing. Indeed, you have no idea how much I wish there was nothing called moon goddess 'cause she ruined my life."
" Okay, you need to stop all this, no one ruins anyone's life, and stop overthinking about whether Alpha Damien will accept you or not and get ready to leave",
" I'm ready; this is how I'm going, "she said, looking at her blue gown and wedge heels.
" You've got to be kidding me right?, you think I'm going to follow a lady with a pale face?",

" I told myself, of course, you don't think I'm planning to send you off to another pack alone, do you?".
Scarlett walked to grab her purse nonchalantly before turning to Elora one more time, " I'm not going with anyone, I don't want anyone to be there when I'm getting rejected, that'll be humiliating ",
" You can't be serious Scarlett ",
" Yes, I am Elora", she said, walking out of the room while Elora chased after her.
On getting to the sitting room, she halted her steps and swallowed hard to see Karine, Misha, and Cynthia.
" Hey, Scarlett, "Cynthia greeted with a smirk.
Their presence felt like a nightmare to Scarlett and she tried not to tremble in their presence.
