Grace's stern tone caught her off guard, but those intimidating dark eyes left her no space no defy.
Lillian stiffly sat down on the couch.
Grace then came over and lifted the skirt of her dress up. The red marks were vibrant against her pale skin. Few of the bleeding wounds sealed, leaving behind distinct scars.
The pressure in the room dropped as Grace's face became colder.
"Who did this?" Grace asked.
Lillian blinked her eyes, trying to come up with an excuse.
"I know you're grown up and prefer your independence, but don't dare lie to me on this," Grace added.
Lillian gulped.
Was Grace always this scary?
Lillian's eyes darted towards Jasper, looking at him for help. But her brother pretended to not notice her, playing games on his phone.
Lillian sighed and lowered her head, explaining, "It was the Chen Family. They were mad at me for leaving the house without saying anything. This is their form of discipline."
Grace's eyes darkened.
