Chapter 43 - Ch 43: Clash in the Shadows

Third Person POV

The White Ranger scanned the empty street, his mechanical voice booming out like thunder. "Where are you, Rangers?" He fired his Drago Sword wildly—blasts tearing up the ground and smashing into parked cars. Sparks flew out everywhere as he tried to draw out the Red, Blue, Yellow, and Black Rangers.

"Back already?" a voice called from behind. The White Ranger spun around with a scoff. There stood the Red, Blue, and Yellow Rangers, ready to fight.

"Hmph, took you guys long enough," the White Ranger said, his tone full of scorn.

"You don't have your friend with you?" Ethan asked, tilting his head.

The White Ranger laughed coldly. "I don't have any friends." Before Ethan could snap back with a joke, the White Ranger blurred forward in a flash of speed. He struck them hard—kicks to the gut, punches to the chest, slashes that left smoking marks on their suits. The Rangers staggered, pain shooting through their bodies like fire.

"Ha," the White Ranger chuckled darkly. "You all keep falling for the same tricks." The Rangers dropped to their knees, gasping, but they pushed back up fast.

"Fine, if it's a fight you want, it's a fight we'll give!" Conner yelled. He yanked out his Thundermax Saber and charged straight at the White Ranger.

Ethan and Kira ran after him, but a group of Tyrannodrones jumped out from the shadows. Their scaly skins and twisted faces snarled as they swung their sharp, claw-like hands. The Tyrannodrones slashed in the air, forcing Ethan and Kira to stop and fight.

"We need to finish this quickly. Conner needs our help," Kira said, swinging her Thundermax Saber hard. She cut through six drones in one go, sparks exploding as their metal bodies broke apart. Pieces of scaly armor flew everywhere, and the drones crumbled to the ground in smoking heaps.

"Agreed," Ethan grunted, blocking a Tyrannodrone's wild swing. He kicked one back, then blasted another with his saber, watching it spark and fall.

Meanwhile, Conner was in big trouble. He blocked blow after blow from the White Ranger's Drago Sword. "Why are you doing this?" Conner asked through gritted teeth, his arms shaking from the force.

"Still weak as ever," the White Ranger growled, knocking Conner's saber aside with a brutal parry. Conner stumbled, his suit smoking from the hit. He swung back hard, but the White Ranger was too strong, pushing him off balance.

"Your taunts won't work on me," Conner shot back, launching a series of fast swings. Each one clashed against the Drago Sword with loud crashes, but the White Ranger blocked them all, his muscles powering through like a machine.

"When are you going to stop your weak resistance?" the White Ranger asked, slashing hard across Conner's chest. The blow sent Conner flying back, his suit ripping open with sparks and a sharp pain that made him yell.

"Never!" Conner roared, pulling out his Thundermax Blaster. He fired quick shots, hitting the White Ranger square in the chest.

The impact made the White Ranger stagger for a second, smoke rising from his armor.

"Hm, looks like you're not that weak after all," the White Ranger admitted, jumping back a few steps. Conner charged again, saber raised, but he was too slow. The White Ranger drew shapes in the air with his Drago Sword, firing a storm of laser arrows. They slammed into Conner like bullets, exploding on impact and throwing him hard to the ground. He rolled, groaning in pain, his body aching from the burns.

The White Ranger ran up, pointing his Drago Sword right at Conner's neck. "Goodbye, Red Ranger," he said, raising the blade for the final strike.

"For your safety, I must insist that this ends now," a calm, robotic female voice said from behind.

The White Ranger turned his head. There was the Violet Ranger standing tall, her Chrono Bow aimed right at him. Three arrows were already nocked, glowing with violet energy.

"I advise you not to meddle in my affairs," the White Ranger said, his voice dropping low and cold. "You've already done a fair amount of damage to my ego."

"Terrific," Amaris replied politely, her tone steady and formal. "That means my dear friend shall be freed from the shackles he did not deserve." She released the arrows with perfect aim. They flew like streaks of light, forcing the White Ranger to twist and parry them away. The clashes sent energy bursts cracking through the air.

"That's it," the White Ranger snarled. He charged at her, Drago Sword swinging in a wide, powerful arc meant to cut her in half.

But Amaris was faster. She leaped to the side, flipping onto a nearby wall with graceful flips. From there, she fired another three arrows. "Echo Flare—Volley Strike," she announced. The arrows zipped down, almost too quick to see, exploding near the White Ranger's feet and making him dodge wildly.

"I won't fall for that trick again," he yelled, slicing through the arrows with his sword. The energy split and fizzled out, but Amaris didn't stop. She nocked another arrow, her movements smooth and bendy like a dancer.

"Echo Split Arrow," she said calmly. The single arrow shot out, but in midair, it burst into five, each one homing in on him. They slammed into his chest with brutal force, sparks flying as he staggered back, grunting in pain. The hits left dents in his white armor, and he felt the shock rattle his bones.

The White Ranger roared and closed the gap, using his raw strength to swing his sword in heavy blows. Amaris dodged most, twisting her body in ways that seemed impossible—bending low, flipping high, always one step ahead. But he landed a solid punch to her side, his power sending her skidding across the pavement. She gasped, pain blooming in her ribs, but she rolled back to her feet quickly.

In her mind, Amaris thought, 'This confrontation is most regrettable, yet I must persevere with utmost diligence. His formidable strength demands my superior agility to counterbalance it.'

She fired more arrows, forcing him to block while she circled around, her speed keeping her out of his strong grabs. He charged again, smashing his sword down where she stood, cracking the ground into chunks. Amaris flipped away just in time, landing lightly and countering with a kick to his back that made him stumble.

The White Ranger spun, grabbing her arm in a vice-like hold. His strength crushed down, making her wince as he threw her hard into a wall. The impact cracked the bricks, and pain shot through her back like lightning. 'Such brute force is indeed a challenge,' she thought, 'but I shall not yield to this unseemly aggression.'

She twisted free with a flexible spin—faster than he could react—and shot an arrow point-blank at his shoulder. It exploded on contact, burning his suit and making him yell.

They traded blows, his heavy punches shaking the air, while Amaris' quick dodges and strikes was wearing him down bit by bit. Sparks flew out with every clash, their fight turning into a storm of white and violet energy.

As they battled on, Kira and Ethan finally reached Conner. "Conner, are you alright?" Kira asked, helping him stand.

"I-I'm alright," Conner grunted, wincing from the pain.

Ethan whistled as he watched the fierce fight. "Backup has arrived, huh?"

"Let's help her," Conner said. Kira and Ethan nodded, and they ran to join. But one thought stuck in Conner's head: the White Ranger... he's being controlled by an evil ego?
