Chapter 29 - The Genius Child in Another World

Inside a dark room, with books and more books, a child was reading at a table, with the lamp turned on. The boy showed no emotion. On the title of the book it was written: "Generational Knowledge".

In that room where there were only books, suddenly the front door of the house is opened and closed violently. A drunk man enters with a bottle in his hands. The boy closes his book and goes out of his room.

Going down the stairs, he goes to the kitchen and sees his father sitting at the table. The man with green eyes, black hair and a black suit, torn and dirty with mud, says to the boy:

— Are you seeing me, son?... This is how you will be one day: a useless person that can be thrown away at any moment by the guys up there.

Hitting the bottle on the table, he says, looking down:

— I was fired again… the rent will be late again...

The boy watches his father with disgust and no emotion on his face, he only listens to everything the man has to say.

The man suddenly raises his head, looks at the boy with anger and shouts:

— Huh... why are you looking at me like that, you damn kid?... You look at me as if what you did was useful... you stay for hours inside that room like a bum, instead of going to work... you piece of shit!

The boy gets angry and clenches his hands. The man sees this and stands up indignantly, slaps the boy, making him fall to the ground. The boy puts his hand on his face and looks up, seeing his father staring at him with anger. Then the man says:

— If it wasn't for you, my Jesse would be here... I hate you... I hate you... I really hate you.

The man walks away from the boy, goes to the front door and says, while opening it:

— Shizu, if at least you were a genius like your mother was, maybe we wouldn't be in this end of the world, you useless.

The man says that and slams the door in anger.

Then the boy curls up, hugging his legs, and answers in a low voice:

— I will never be like you... never...

In the back of the boy's mind, a memory appears like a flash.A blurred image of a woman with red hair and a white lab coat written "Minister".She smiled at him while saying:

— My son, of my blood.Giving up does not exist in my last name.Make me proud!

The boy gives a small smile and answers:

— Yes, mom...

Now, inside the king's castle, the trial was still happening, but with a tense air full of doubts. The king looked at Shizu with uncertainty, and all the nobles had their attention turned to the boy who had pointed at the king and said such words.

Then Shizu returns to his sentence:

— King Napolix, I now say with total certainty that all of this is a farce! And I have arguments against this.

The king lets out a laugh and sits down.Putting his head on his fist, he asks Shizu:

— Then let's hear it… tell us: what exactly is a farce to you?

Shizu then begins his argument. He turns to everyone who was sitting and watching and asks:

— You who are watching us today probably want us to be arrested or executed, and that is exactly what the person who set all of this up against us wants.

Shizu turns to Maprisius and then asks:

— Maprisius, I must ask you now: where were you on the day of the incident?

The fox lowers his head, puts his hand on his chin and thinks for a few moments. Then he lets out a low laugh and answers, hitting his own head:

— Ah, yes! How could I forget that. Forgive me for forgetting this, little Shizu.

Maprisius turns to the king and answers in front of everyone:

— Your Majesty, I remembered now that on the day of the incident, Shizu and his companion were with me. So I don't think they are the main causes of the problem. I apologize for forgetting something so important.

Maprisius says this, bowing.

The archbishop quickly understands and turns to the ferals sitting there, saying:

— With this, we have the consideration of proof that Shizu Mark and Anin Thaillor are innocent defendants, with the exception of Sterfen!

Everyone in the audience begins to get outraged by the direction the conversation was taking. Then Shizu shouts:

— You don't think you're going to get away from this subject so easily, do you, Archbishop?!

He quickly turns to Shizu and asks with anger:

— What? What are you implying, boy?!

Shizu points at him with anger and says:

— Isn't it obvious? You are a bought judge. Of course I am accusing you of being a criminal here.

The archbishop gets indignant at such an accusation. Then he expands his yellow aura and asks the boy:

— So you think that I, the archbishop of the highest rank of the Church of our great God Quyan, would be conspiring because of insignificant people like you?!

He turns to the king, points at Shizu with anger stamped on his face and says:

— King, do you allow such an affront against us, superiors? This boy must be executed right now!

The king only observes and asks Shizu:

— So, Shizu, can you tell me the reason for such an accusation?

Shizu steps closer to the king and speaks seriously:

— If I were a common person who barely has knowledge of things like this, I would probably be talking bullshit. But unfortunately for certain people, I grew up in a place where knowledge is everything. I have total confidence in what I say. So when I say that all of this is a farce...

He steps onto a stair and gets closer to the king, continuing to speak:

— Why would we, the heroes of a prison city that was ruled by a tyrant, bring destruction to a place like this that hates humans?

He takes another step and stands in front of the king, without stuttering or showing fear:

— Why are we being accused of all of this? It's very simple. The ferals hate humans, heroes or not, that doesn't matter. To you, humans are humans. So I say now, even if this is rude and probably a crime, I will say it: the real criminals who are trying to get rid of us are...

He points at each of the nobles, stopping a little longer on Maprisius:

— Her, him, her and also him...All the nobles are completely dissatisfied with us, the human heroes, walking and eating in the same place as them.

Vollveria Roadin stares at Shizu and, in an arrogant tone, questions the boy about such an accusation:

— If you say something like this with such certainty, I must assume that you have proof that we really did this. I expect a worthy answer. Otherwise, as one of the nobles who maintains the jewel economy of this country, I will ask the king for your head.— As much as your king is powerful and merciful, when we threaten, we, the nobles who keep this country alive, have full right to make requests like this against the will of our king.— I apologize for such words directed at Your Majesty, but this is a law that we must follow as it has always been, throughout all the years in which this hierarchy was founded.

The king only closes his eyes.Shizu looks at the king and sees, in his eyes, total trust.

Then the king says:

— Shizu Mark, I personally trust you. But in fact, what Vollveria says is true. You made a very serious accusation. If you do not prove this point, I will give my final verdict with execution.Do you still want to proceed with such accusations?

Shizu hardens his face and continues:

— Your Majesty, as I said, I have total confidence in what I say. So I will show you a single proof that will clear us without needing to say anything else after that. What do you think?...

The king is surprised at the moment and only nods positively.

Shizu takes a deep breath and asks everyone there, with confidence in his words:

— What would you think if I told you that no one is safe in this place?Would you believe me, words coming from a human like me?

A chicken feral raises his hand and answers without any doubt:

— Never! Why would we believe that?

Shizu approaches him and answers with a serious look:

— If that is the case, then why, instead of destroying houses and buildings, we — the people who defeated Ana Izius Babadar, someone who easily destroyed nations — would only cause such futile damage like this, instead of simply killing each one of you?

Everyone in the audience starts talking at the same time. Some said that what Shizu was saying was madness. Then a rabbit feral raises his hand and asks:

— What point are you trying to reach, human?

Shizu puts his hand behind his back and answers:

— I will answer by asking one more question.King Napolix, why did the guards of the Royal Palace come to arrest us, when only the nobles and Your Majesty have the power to command them?

He continues, without giving time for an answer:

— And also… if that witness with a crow face really claims that it was exactly us who destroyed his house, why does he have no injuries on his legs?It doesn't make sense for him to be so injured only from the torso up. Because even if he lies saying that he used his arms to protect himself, how would he not injure his legs in the process of rubble falling on him?

The crow gets scared at that moment and just stays silent.

Then Shizu turns again to the king and says:

— Now, my king, my last argument. If it was really us who did all of that, with so many "proofs" made up and so many arguments thrown on our shoulders as criminals…why were you, as king, the last one to know about this trial?

The nobles are in shock. The entire audience falls into absolute silence. The king remains perplexed.

Then one of the nobles, with horse characteristics, asks:

— What do you mean? And how do you know that?

Shizu smiles and looks back at him, then answers:

— I heard this from one of the feral guards coming here:"— Will the king be informed of the culprits now?"I heard that and thought to myself. When I arrived here, everything made sense. The king was in fact not informed of what the reason for the trial was and who was being judged. Because there would be no reason for him to announce our hero names twice when he started the trial.

Goulartte moves closer to his desk and asks:

— Even if that is the case, why do you think this was done?Don't you think it was just an information error?!

Shizu, clearly seeing the desperation in his voice, answers back with another argument:

— Isn't it obvious? If the king knew that we, the heroes of the city of Babadar, were arrested…DON'T YOU THINK THAT WE, THE PEOPLE HE TRUSTS SO MUCH, WOULD BE HEARD BEFORE BEING JUDGED?!

Everyone stays silent.Maprisius sits down and watches with a serious face while Shizu continues:

— Your Majesty, please, confirm my point. Were you informed that we would be judged today for this crime?A crime that all the nobles knew about and did not inform you?

The king takes a deep breath and stands up. Then he answers with full honesty:

— Hero Shizu Mark and Hero Anin Thaillor, I, King Napolix Neathan, was not informed of any of these details of such crime. They also did not inform me who the culprits were.Based on your reasoning, I reach a conclusion. In fact… based on this information, I declare you, along with your companion Sterfen, innocent of all charges. But the nobles Goulartte Fleonis, Vollveria Roadin, Jeoman Souso and Maprisius…guilty of slander and political conspiracy!

Everyone is incredulous. The nobles are in shock, and the ferals go crazy, asking how and why.

Shizu looks at Maprisius and sees him staring back with a smile, holding a glass of wine. Then he says, in a satisfied tone:

— Intriguing… you managed to turn this situation in your favor.Indeed, you are truly a walking danger of intelligence, Shizu Mark.
