"Your highness, what relationship do you have with the High Lord?" Calyx asked without emotion, "are there any notes that I should take in particular about him?"
Ember scoffed lightly while she watched Adrian lead the carriage towards the direction of the Nirvana. "He's an ally for now. But he's one who has his own agenda."
Calyx frowned. "The both of you looked particularly close right now. Is he really just an ally?"
Nada scrambled closer, eyes brimming with sheer excitement, but on seeing the stern expression Ember wore, she turned somber.
"Remember what I told the both of you this morning?" Ember said grimly while the carriage disappeared from sight.
Nada chewed at her lips. "You said the Duke Hair of Shantaville is highly suspicious and we should investigate when you're away."
"What did the two of you find out?"
They both looked down. "Nothing. There was absolutely no dirt on him."
