Chapter 10 - #10 I've Helped You Think of Reasons

"Hey, did you even listen to me?" Tang Ze pretended to be unhappy and rubbed Conan's little head hard.

"Huh?" Conan tilted his head, looking completely dumbfounded.

"Although you're an amazing child with exceptional reasoning skills, you're still a child. It's okay if you don't understand these things."

Tang Ze was fighting the urge to laugh at Conan's confused expression. Still, he maintained his serious demeanor as he spoke, "But listen, I know you probably think no one will believe in a child's reasoning, and that's why you've been reckless—choosing to go it alone."

Conan, still looking dazed, tried to process the words. *Who am I? Where am I? What am I supposed to do...?*

"Oh, yes!" he thought. "I was discovered, but why is Officer Tang Ze giving me a long lecture now?"

After a few moments, Conan's brain finally started processing the words. *Tang Ze thinks I'm mature like him when he was a kid! That's why he's being so serious.*

When Tang Ze finished, Conan took a breath of relief. "It's like a misfortune turned into a blessing," he thought. "Being discovered isn't so bad. At least I've got someone to talk to, someone who can see things the way I do."

"You're still a child and can't protect yourself. Just like this time—finding a criminal doesn't mean you're safe," Tang Ze continued with a warning. "Next time, if you find something important, you need to consult with me. Got it? I'll take your opinions seriously."

"I… I understand…" Conan stammered, still in a daze, but it was clear that he didn't fully process the situation.

"Good," Tang Ze said with a nod. "And don't worry. I'll keep your secret. After all, people like us—those with exceptional talents—understand each other, right?"

"Thank you," Conan sighed in relief. He was genuinely grateful for Tang Ze's understanding. And in a strange way, being discovered by him didn't feel like a bad thing after all.

"Besides, you're a police officer, and having someone like you on my side is a huge advantage. I can get more intel and move around more freely," Conan thought, secretly glad that things worked out in his favor.

Before long, the two were interrupted by the arrival of Officer Mumu and Kogoro Mouri, who rushed to the scene.

"Hey! You brat! What are you doing running around again? Causing trouble for Officer Tang Ze?" Kogoro Mouri punched Conan in the head without even asking what was going on.

"No, no, Conan helped a lot this time," Tang Ze quickly intervened, calming the situation.

"You mean this kid helped get Abe Feng to confess?" Kogoro Mouri asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, thanks to Conan, after he proposed the idea, I couldn't believe it," Tang Ze smiled. "This kid's really sharp. He wasn't scared at all. He got Abe Feng to confess on tape!"

Tang Ze then turned to Officer Mumu, his tone slightly apologetic, "I'm sorry, Officer Mumu. I didn't have time to report it earlier, but the situation was urgent."

"It's alright. As long as it's done right. And with the way things were going, Abe Feng might have escaped if we hadn't acted quickly." Officer Mumu was surprisingly understanding, showing his good nature.

"Wow, Conan-kun, that was amazing!" Xiaolan smiled as she patted Conan's head. "I didn't know you were such a talented actor!"

"No… no," Conan quickly waved his hands in protest. "I just read the script that Officer Tang Ze wrote for me. All the reasoning came from him."

"Yeah, exactly. Let's give credit where it's due!" Tang Ze said with a calm expression, but his heart was secretly pleased. *This plan worked out just as I intended.*

After escorting Abe Feng into the police car, Tang Ze said his goodbyes to Kogoro Mouri, Xiaolan, and the rest before heading back to the station with Officer Mumu.

"Ha, this guy finally got what was coming to him! You did well, kid," Kogoro Mouri grinned as he ruffled Conan's hair, though his face still wore an annoyed expression.

"Let's celebrate with something good!" Kogoro added. "What do you want to eat, Conan?"

"I want sushi!" Xiaolan replied excitedly. "I haven't had it in a while."

"Sushi? Nah, Oden's better, perfect for drinking!" Kogoro objected, his face lighting up with an eager look when he thought about alcohol.

"Alright, alright, let's take a vote," Xiaolan said with a mischievous grin. "Conan, you want sushi too, right?"

"Yeah," Conan nodded in agreement, playing along.

"Two to one, sushi it is!" Xiaolan declared triumphantly.

"Hey! My Oden..." Kogoro muttered, but he gave in with a smile, happy to see his family so cheerful.

On the other hand, Tang Ze had completed his report for Abe Feng, and now the case was officially in the hands of the Prosecutor's Office. His job was done.
